  1. One really important thing people don't seem to know. You can't negotiate with a player who was transition tagged until march 22. Cant visit either. That's why there is nothing doing with Mack right now. Teams are making enquiries but that's all that's allowed. Same deal with the OLB from the steelers.

Stop making posts of reason and sense. Can't you see we are doomed here?

  2. I believe the new CBA prohibits any type of "poison pill" contract now.  Someone please correct if I'm wrong.

They should be but its such a subjective term that there are bound to be creative ways around the CBA rules there. His agent has made statements saying he could structure a contract that the Browns wouldn't match so maybe he knows of one.

  3. The picks on this past draft are just taking a little longer to develope than last years. I don't think you're going to see immediate return on a draft like last years very often. But the way Werner, Thorton, Holmes, keep progressing, I think this draft will still be good. Heck even Hughes has shown flashes.

Most of our picks this year were projects of some sort. It's still not completely obvious who will pan out but I think this will end up being a good draft.

  4. Donald Brown came out of a zone stretch running scheme in college and he was not particularly successful in his first couple of years running out of a zone stretch when Peyton was here.  He honestly runs better now that we have switched to power.

I'm not going to use the zone running scheme excuse for trent.  He's showed some good runs at times, he just needs to get more comfortable and knowledgeable with the scheme.  Tony Dungy was asked what the issue was and he blamed it more on the O Line than anything else. I think the O Line has been the biggest issue for him, although I think a nice portion can be put on his shoulders as well.

I thought Brown came out of a power running scheme at UConn? I've heard that numerous times around this board.

  5. If you compare who is on the Broncos vs who was on the Colts the Colts come out ahead. But if you judge the current skill of the Broncos receivers vs the skill of the Colts at any one year I think the Broncos come out on top. Basically I think the total skill on the Broncos receivers now is higher than the total skill the Colts have had at any one point in time.

  6. I would add in Tennessee. I think they are better than most people give them credit for. Honestly though I think the texans are going to have a down season. I'm also tempted to scratch baltimore. I think they are going to have a very up and down season. They beat the Browns and the texans which, as I said, I think are overrated.

  7. So the replay booth clearly shows a ball on the ground in the catch they over turned?   I must have been blurry eyed because I never seen the ball touch the ground.

Which catch are you talking about? The Dominick Jones catch at the 1? Because that one clearly touched the ground.

  8. Landry was the only who looked like he was giving 100%. Dungy used to call Sanders the eraser because he cleaned up other peoples mistakes. I don't know if anyone could cover up the mistakes we were making in that game but damnit you could tell Landry doing his best to try.

  9. the OL needs to be changed maybe even reizt in at LT and AC to RT or RG with Holmes at C and our 3rd round pick at RG

We cannot play that 3/4 D against certain teams. we should have chapman in their with the other NT and Redding and the other starter at DE. with Mathis and our 1st round pick at OLB  and do some blitzing cause it is not working the way it is.

if we play like this next week we will lose. Oak beat us in every way today total yards, first downs, time of possession, passing yards and rushing yards. we should not have won this game.

where were our te's in this game???

The o line wasn't that bad till Oakland started sending 6 or more players on a delayed blitz. The problem was that once they started doing that we didn't counter with quick passes to the undefended areas. That's on Pep for the plays and Luck for not reading the blitz. As for the D we were not fully blitzing because Pryor was back there. You do not full blitz an option QB or they will roast you. You have to play disciplined contain which is what we were doing almost the entire game (with a few exceptions of players losing discipline). Our interior d line played very well. There is no reason to change how our personal are playing. The thing we need to focus on is stopping the read option with Seattle and San Fran coming up.
