  1. Can you imagine how the Ravens feel about this? They had a shot to come to Indy and get revenge from the last time we played, and a win in Indy would have put them in the Super Bowl as well. I am reading their boards about it now, and some of them are calling for a lifetime ban.

This thing could get really big.

There will be no lifetime ban though.  This is called for by angry biased fans, just like the opposite side of the flip where alot of Pats fans think anything more than a 25k fime would be atrocious.

If Goodell levied a lifetime ban, there would be an NFL players union lockout.  The majority of the NFL and it's fans see this as a cheat and a lie.  And should be handled as such.  If's, But's and Maybe's of the outcome of the games the cheat's are used in cannot be taken into account, only the actions themselves.

  2. So you are saying you would stop being a fan of the Chargers if they had improperly inflated footballs?

And using steroids is a much bigger infraction and advantage than ball pressure ...

I'm going to actually have to politely disagree with that.  To a single person yes maybe more of an infraction to the PED.  But the Muscles on that one person does not effect multiple players like ball tampering does.  Like the fracture integrity of one large stick or many bundled small sticks.  When it is grouped, it has a bigger effect. IMO.

  3. Ok about the D-line situation.;  Anderson and Parry were only named the positions they are because they had to be named something.  Both moved all over the line in all the positions every game.  In a 3-4 scheme, Brown would play the same position as Anderson.  Anderson having the better run stopping stat's and better qb rushes, sack stats.

Kerr was a rookie last year and did not play a whole lot due to fatigue.  He was brilliant when he was fresh though.  When he got tired is when he struggled. He has worked hard on his eating habbits and heath to improve on this area for him .

Langford is a beast in the 3-4 scheme.  Go watch tape of when he played that scheme with the Dolphins.  He will fit in quite well.

I am not as high on Art Jones as alot of other people are.  He has had times of good play, but many times it looked like he was disappointing to me. I expect Anderson to take his starting spot sooner more than later.

Parry is the ???? to me.  His motor, aggressiveness, and explosion are not the issue, they are nearly impeccable.  It is his size.  Quite small and undersized as a NT in a 3-4 scheme.   His effort however could make up for it, we will have to watch and see.

Overall though, I feel our line will be strides better than last year.

  4. What exactly did you disagree with? I am down. Let's go.

I get where you are going with that.  Yes, I believe the Colts could have handled Seattle.  However, The entire report was over the AFCCG, and that game only.  Thus the punishment has to be over 1 game.

Even if B.B. and Kraft honestly did not know what was going on, they should have by the Commish's own statement saying "Ignorance is not an excuse".

Stick-um, Pine tar, Oiled jerseys, ect, are all in game cheating that has been done in the past. But you cannot go by those punishments because they are more strict now than they were in those days.

But yeah, the cover-up I truly believe is what will truly hurt Brady.  It was apparent it was the cover up that really hit Shean Payton in Bounty-gate.  And it is the same that is going to tear Brady a new one.

A year might be possible since that is "the book" that is thrown according to several reports I have read. (though I truly doubt that would happen).

Draft picks could be taken yes, maybe even a 1st round pick, and a Large fines to the organization and the head coach.  I won't guesstimate the totality of those though.  Because what most people are interested in is Tom's sentence and the possible picks.

  5. I understand the sentiment, but if he is suspended that game and we win, I'm not going to feel bad at all. I'm going to feel like "hey, look what happens when they aren't allowed to cheat!"

I would not feel bad about it.  But I want OUR team to get better.  And the best way to do that is to play the best at their best.  Learn from the experience, and build on it.  I want long term improvement, not just short term results.

  6. I am absolutely baffled as to how you don't know who he is.

LOL sometimes in a persons life you just successfully miss things for a long period of time.  Until recently i thought hashtag meant the price of the stuff.....which confused me even more when they started comparing it to..um..everything...lol (But to my defense, I have never owned a cell phone).

  7. And i guess the Pats themselves are expecting the worse.

"No one knows specifically what the Deflategate punishment will be for Tom Brady, but within Gillette Stadium they are bracing for the worst.

Sources with the Patriots I have spoken with tell me they are fearful of a lengthy suspension, perhaps in the six- to eight-game range, for Brady in the aftermath of the Wells Report."

    as per     http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2458473-tom-brady-deflategate-latest-news-and-rumors-on-qbs-potential-punishment?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-national

  8. oh, wow..did not know this myself.  Just read a part that where people are saying that messing with the balls are a 25k fine only is false.

Here’s the exact language of the rule, as quoted at page 35 of the Wells report: “Once the balls have left the locker room, no one, including players, equipment managers and coaches are allowed to alter the footballs in any way. If any individual alters the footballs, or if a non-approved ball is used in the game, the person responsible and, if appropriate, the head coach or other club personnel will be subject to discipline, including, but not limited to, a fine of $25,000.”

  9. Thanks for the link.   I am still guessing it will be 4 games.

Yes, Taking the consensus of 20 different reports from across the country (not including the Boston globe because of the Bias there) it seems to average to 3-4 games.  That is taking into effect that 18-20 papers see him getting a suspension.  1 (Miami) calling for an entire year i did not take either because I think it may be biased as well..

  10. That was my take away too from reading it. Nowhere is Brady telling or texting his guys to make the balls below league minimum. There is absolutely no communication from Brady the day of the AFCCG either that ties him directly to McNally.

Did you see/hear Yee's interview on CNN last night? http://www.cnn.com/videos/tv/2015/05/08/ac-intv-tom-brady-attorney-don-yee.cnn

It is clear that Brady is going to fight this report no matter the punishment. I think he is just waiting to see what the league rules in terms of punishment to see what form of legal action he should take. The Herald had a great break down of his legal recourse in this.

He's not going to take this to a court.  it is a flat out attempt to scare the NFL.  And for this reason.:

Brady did not turn in his phone for a reason, this is quite obvious.  If they take it to court, the Judge would order Brady to present his phone for investigation.  He would then have to. No matter if he even had his phone anymore or not.  If he didn't it would be obstruction of justice and he would be found guilty by default.

Plus testimony would be taken from MANY NFL players and staff.  NO-one would mess with a QB footballs without that QB's express Notification.

Circumstantial evidence in a court of law presented by large amounts is conceived as Foundation of guilt.

Going to court is a no-win situation.  This is just a scare tactic.

  11. After a day to soak it in, and alot of articles read, I have come to a conclusion.

"In-game cheating is punished harder than out of game actions."

    "Ignorance is not an excuse"

Kraft and B.B. will be punished because Goodell did say "ignorance is not an excuse" in previous indictments.

Hardy's case had less evidence, (only photo's of a beaten woman, and hearsay from other people) and was even an out of game action but he got a 10 game suspension.

There is direct evidence implicating Brady in this.  Brady also withheld evidence from the investigators. And lied.  Plus the text's go back WAY before the AFCCG.

The wordage "More probable than not" is the second most damning wordage an NFL investigator can use.  more damning than the wordage used in the Hardy, NO, and Atlanta investigations. It's meaning saying that the evidence is so heavily one sided there is little doubt.

He will get a fine of course,..But he will receive a HEFTY suspension also.

  12. I'm really not sold on him yet.

I mean he only had 36 receptions his senior year. 108 in his college career.

    To compare:

T.Y. Had 72 his senior year and 229 in his college career.

Moncrief had 59 his senior year and 156 in this college career and he left after his Junior year.

Yes Dorsett is fast but how do we know he's a good reciever!?

    I'm not so sure....

36 receptions yes, but only 1 drop.  That alone shows good hands. He was not targeted much due to the style Miami played last year.

Once he gets the system down, I think he'll be the #2 post in a 3 wr set. and A.J. would take the slot.  I won't take a guess at stats because of how many weapons Luck has to throw to.  Plus it will depend on how the run game gets going.  A better run game will mean less yards and TD's through the air.  But it also means more big plays down field due to the play action that a successful run game can bring.
