  1. No he didn't. In fact, I would argue he had a good season when you think of the crap show team he was on. 60.4 pass completions TD's 17 (another 8 rushing - Total - 25 INT's - 11 Rating - 85.2 Rushing yards - 1143
  2. Yep, his is on a bad team and he still had an OK season.
  3. I'd take fields in a heartbeat. Mostly because he took big leaps in his growth last season. Another leap in his 3rd season is likely, especially on a new team. Fields last season: 60.4 pass completions TD's 17 (another 8 rushing - Total - 25 INT's - 11 Rating - 85.2 Rushing yards - 1143 The same stat categories from 2021: 58.9 pass completions TD's 7 (another 2 rushing - Total - 9 INT's - 10 Rating - 73.2 Rushing yards - 420 Brissett may pass better than Fields but it is not allot better. Fields rushing ability makes him much better than Brissett.
  4. I don't there there is much of a chance of the Bears taking a QB. Especially in this draft. None of them look like sure things, in fact, I don't think any of them will be great QB's.
  5. having Fields would be nice. He improved from year 1 to year 2 on a crappy team. no reason to think he wouldn't improve again.
  6. Anyone believe him? Maybe technically true since he left being a career back up QB to be a starter in a much lesser league but the real reason is because his has made over $15 million while throwing just 174 passes. I guess $86,000 per pass is pretty good money. Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback A. J. McCarron has hit the ground running in his first season in the XFL, leading the St. Louis Battlehawks to two thrilling comeback victories for a 2-0 start. Aside from his performance on the field, McCarron received praise from XFL owner Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on Friday because of his decision to leave the NFL to pursue a career where he could "create memories" with his two young boys. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/xfl-owner-dwayne-johnson-praises-ex-nfl-quarterback-taking-less-money-create-memories-kids
  7. This kid is impressive. I would like to see him pitch both games of a double header. Jurrangelo Cijntje, a freshman out of Pembroke Pines, Florida, started for the Bulldogs in Wednesday’s game against the University of Louisiana Monroe, when he struck out seven batters in four scoreless innings. The impressive part? He did so pitching with both arms The 19-year-old switch-pitcher allowed just one hit, one walk and struck out six batters as right-hander. In the third inning, he displayed his ambidextrous abilities and struck out a left-handed hitter with a 92 mph fastball. Cijntje, who is now 2-0 this season after appearing in last week’s win over VMI, also threw a 97 mph pitch from the right. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/mississippi-state-pitcher-jurrangelo-cijntje-goes-viral-ambidextrous-talent
  8. Pacers are currently in the 6th draft spot. I hope they do not blow it. They could get as high as the 5th pick this year. Or as low as 15.
  9. When MLB changes rules, it turns me off. I didn't watch as much last year because I don't like the DH in the National league. Changes for 2023: Shift restrictions: The defensive team must have a minimum of four players on the infield, with at least two infielders completely on either side of second base. These restrictions are intended to increase the batting average on balls in play. - So batting averages will be better in 2023. Bigger bases: First, second and third have been expanded from 15 inches on each side to 18 inches on each side, while home plate remains unchanged. The primary reason why the bases are bigger is safety, giving fielders and runners more room to operate without colliding. But the slightly decreased distance between bases could help runners on stolen-base attempts and bang-bang plays. Pitch timer: The length of games will still be determined by innings, not minutes. But to create a crisper pace, there will be a 30-second timer between batters and then a shorter time limit between pitches. Pitchers will be required to begin their motion 15 seconds after receiving the ball with the bases empty or 20 seconds after receiving the ball with runners on base. If they don’t, they will be charged with an automatic ball. Batters, meanwhile, must be in the batter’s box and alert to the pitcher by the 8-second mark on the clock, or else be charged with an automatic strike. Pitchers will also be limited to two pickoff attempts per plate appearance with a runner on first. - So after he uses his 2, the runner can walk to 2nd base?
  10. I'm cautiously excited for the Cardinals season. Losing Pujols and Molina is tough to overcome. I hope signing Willson Contreras helps fill the gap. As usual, the Cardinals have some good talent in the minors. Jordan Walker will be up at some point a bolter an already crowded outfield. Pitching-wise, They have an always solid Wainwright back for his 18th season with the Cardinals. I'd probably call him a 2 or a 3 in the rotation. His last 3 seasons ERA 3.05, 3.71, 3.38. Flaherty is the wild card. After injuries the past 2 seasons it is not known if he will get back to his 2019 level but he is only 27.
  11. Same here, I didn't watch any. Did the XLF ditch their crap they tried to do the first time they started. It was way too much like wrestling and not about football.
  12. I'm still hoping they sign Garropolo and move back and draft Richardson.
  13. I'm not, really. I am looking forward to season 2 of the USFL. It was good football last season.
  14. Unfortunately they will will probably make the playoffs and miss out on being a part of the draft lottery.
  15. He cannot be taken seriously if he says Stroud will fall to #9. Does anyone really believe he will make it out of the top 5?i think he will be gone in the first 2 picks. I will admit I was wrong if needed. All this will change after the combine anyway.
  16. I also, am not a follower of Kipers advice. He is in with the football people and they know the game and players well, but do your own research because their opinions can be very flawed. The Manziel hype was real despite the fact he lacked ideal size, arm strength, and pocket presence, to say nothing of his attitude. Kiper, however, bought in to Manziel, asserting that he should be picked No. 1 overall Akili Smith, Kiper declared the former Oregon quarterback would be a "great NFL player" The 1998 NFL Draft was a top-heavy class that featured two players who were amongst the best to ever play their respective position in Charles Woodson and Peyton Manning. However, neither player was ranked as the top overall player on Kiper's draft board, as that distinction belonged to Florida State pass-rusher Andre Wadsworth, who he compared to Bruce Smith and claimed was as close to a sure thing as one could find. The Cardinals bought into that notion, as they grabbed the physically gifted defensive end with the third pick and made him the first non-quarterback selected. If they had a do-over, they certainly would have picked Woodson, as Wadsworth never lived up to expectations and only recorded 8.5 career sacks in three seasons. As crazy as it sounds, JaMarcus Russell was lauded as a generational quarterback prospect ahead of the 2007 NFL Draft and got selected by the Raiders with the top pick in the class. Mel Kiper was especially high on the talented LSU product, as he compared him to John Elway in his pre-draft evaluation and said he could be one of the league's best quarterbacks within three years. Rarely does a player from Wake Forest find himself in the conversation to be the top pick in the draft, but linebacker Aaron Curry was the exception to that rule, as he was considered one of the best players in the 2009 NFL Draft. Kiper bought into the hype and crowned the versatile 'backer as the best player and safest prospect in the class. Speaking of takes that Kiper wishes he could have back, the draft expert was so confident in Syracuse wideout Mike Williams in 2005 that he claimed the receiver would be in the Hall of Fame after the Lions selected him with the 10th pick. Jimmy Clausen was the man that was supposed to end the great Mel Kiper's career. The draft expert was confident enough in Clausen to proclaim that he would retire if the Notre Dame product (who was ranked fourth on his big board) was not a successful quarterback after eight seasons. Ki-Jana Carter picked a great time to have one of the most dominant games of his life, as his 156-yard, three-touchdown performance in the 1995 Rose Bowl set the stage for the Bengals to select him first overall (in a trade-up) in that year's draft. The physically gifted running back may have been highly regarded by everyone in the draft community, but nobody was more bullish on him than Mel Kiper, who declared he could be the next Bo Jackson.
  17. To be fair: How do you know that? I thought you didn't trust the numbers given?
  18. Giving up a top 5 pick for Carr would be a horrible move for any team. I wouldn't mind trading for him but do the Raiders realy think he is worth a top 5 pick.
  19. Me neither. He showed improvement in every category from 2021.
  20. What draft capital would you be willing to give up to move from 4 to 1? That is if the Bears didn't want any players. Swap this years pick (4 for 1) Add next years 1st round pick Add this years 2nd round pick.
  21. I agree. I've seen too many teams put in bad shape for a decade because they gave up so much to move up and draft a bust. Ruins 3 seasons at minimum every time. The Colts would not draft another QB in 2024 if they gave up a bunch of picks to draft Stroud. They would roll with Stroud for 2-3 years before giving up on him and the team would be worse when they do it again.
  22. How is 190 lbs not too small for the NFL? Drew Brees weighed 209 lbs. Kyler Murray weighs 207 lbs Young is too small.
  23. I'm torn on trading up with the Bears. We would give up allot of draft capital to guy the guy we want. What worries me is that I don't feel that this is a great QB group to choose from. Not one of them gets me overly excited.
  24. I think they all get in eventually. Willis is the least likely because of his short career.
  25. I mostly agree except some would be on the other side of the positive/negative side of things.
