  1. Drives you crazy that i did yours after you did mine huh? Know you like a book...Figured youd respond. You struck first so lets get your take.
  2. The Colts are not one of FEW teams that play one gap. Its a passing league with most teams playing nickel as their base defense. Surely what the Colts do defensively they are not in the minority. Whose small on our interior DL? Not Buckner, Not Dayo, Not Grover. The Colts dont prefer small DL. The only thing you can really point to is Lewis or maybe an edge guy like Paye or Ekubam. The very fact that i said the rook would be a reserve player should tell you i dont think hes all the way Freeney. And again theres tape in this thread. Have you looked at any of it? I think you and Nickster are on the same program. The only real consistent thing ive said so far is i think with his athleticism they should play him off the edge along with his DT duties. Just like they do Lewis. Hes going to be a reserve so whatever he does it will be situational. He was primarily a DT in college but they also played him off the edge. The Colts staff might be saying 3T right now but i bet when he puts on the pads they will be inclined to let him play off the edge as well.
  3. And whats that got to do with who i personally think he looks like or plays like? And youre doing this openly admitting that you havent looked at a shred of tape? Even though theres tape sitting right in the thread. Am i supposed to base my opinion on somebody else? I think he moves a lot like Freeney and hes got some of the same measurables and 40 times. Did you hear me say anywhere hed put up Freeney numbers? And your takes many times i dont entirely agree with so i wouldnt expect you to see things how i see them. A lot of us dont agree with your takes on Taylor but there your opinions. My opinion is the rook reminds me some of Freeney the way he moves and plays. Thats very different from saying he is Freeney.
  4. not surprised at your view as usual. of course I don't agree!! did you get consulted by Lombardi about that?
  5. Not etched in Stone. Plenty of our guys line up in different places, once they see him out there moving it wouldn't surprise me at all if they add more responsibility to his belt. He already played some DE in college. Most of our 3T line up at DE from time to time. Some more than others. Very likely he will be a reserve so lining in more than one spot is natural.
  6. Seems to have that same bull strength like Freeney as well. And his sideline to sideline pursuit it crazy.
  7. They say they want him at 3 Tech, but I certainly would also have him set up to rush off the edge as well. Gotta show off that speed.
  8. Nice Senior Bowl Clips on him! That first rush and spin he does reminds me of a guy that used to play for us.
  9. I think Downs is a more suped up version of what Richardson had at Florida in Pearsall. I take that back because Pearsall is a lot bigger guy. Downs kind of runs like him to me in some ways though.
  10. Are you basing this on real pressure rates, or are you just looking at sacks? This guy is a nice penetrator who disrupts consistently. I haven't even looked at his sacks, but being regularly disruptive is a good trait that you can likely turn into more sacks. Autry for example didn't have that many sacks with the Raiders but the film showed him to be very disruptive. When he came here he put up good sack numbers and regularly disruptive. Ebukam the guy we picked up from the 49ers I think will prove to be really good as well. Sack numbers dont always give the whole picture.
  11. Levis is a pretty decent fit with a tough guy like Vrabel to me. He'll know how to deal with Levis personality I think. Levis is a tough player, Massachusetts guy.
  12. It's sad how terrible your are at this! I like Downs. Really nice player!
  13. He plays every position on the line if you study his profile. And with that athletic skill set you can pretty much bet he will be coming off the edge as well on passing downs. Assuming he makes the team.
  14. Im listening to Irsays conference right now. He just said if Anthony wasn't there at 4 they probably take Levis because we liked him. Or trade down.
  15. He looks more like Freeney to me measurable wise. It' all similar other than Freeney was 10-20 lbs lighter. I don't know what the Colts plans are with him. From what I can see he plays at pretty much every spot on the DL. I need to see him live to say more, but he seems pretty active on film and gets nice pocket push. I think he'd be a nice addition to the rotation as a reserve to begin things off.
  16. The last guy we had that was 6ft 2lb that ran 4.4 was Dwight Freeney.
  17. Im taking it he's going to play DT and Edge just like Dayo.
  18. Something about African defensive linemen/edge players Ballard loves! I don't know what it is, but he's got about 4 of them between Paye, Dayo, Ebukam, and now Adebawore. And I think even Ngakoue was African.
  19. Hes pretty much about to will himself into starting. He said playing is how he learns best. Said he has no interest in sitting. I could always sense he felt he was a Hunter. Well go hunt then young lion! Whatever he feels works the best! Will see what happens...
