I thought Miami would put up a fight. Is there anyone that can challenge KC and stop them from another championship?

21-0 Chiefs at Half, this game is over already.

I still can't get the game on my TV. I'm on hold with the cable company to see what is going on.

    Miami is not doing much?

I’m not crowning anyone from this class a Star or a bust until at year 3 but so far, all 4 are looking serviceable at QB. Which honestly, is a pleasant surprise to me as I honestly thought none of the top 4 would amount to crap. That said, when it comes to who is the best of these 4, too early to tell. Wished AR was healthy as we’d have a better idea

    Well said. :applause:

Yeah, pre-draft I had Young and Stroud even. Then I had AR and Levis even.

    Like:

    1a Young

    1b Stroud

then AR and Levis after that. I wanted AR once Stroud was gone. For all I know though, Levis might end up being better. He impressed me vs the Falcons.

That is what the thread is for. Let's see how they play the rest of the year.

I think Indy will win today, Young is struggling so far. Not sure what to make of it. Is it coaching? Is it Young just not adjusting to the pro game, hard telling. Maybe his size is a factor?

I don't know. Many were concerned about his size. I actually liked him best pre-draft. Lol.

  5. Young plays your Colts today. Who does Stroud play?

I will start a topic on NFL section for all other rookie QBs, including mine who makes his debut today in place of Cousins. Clayton Tune also makes debut. See NFL section later.

    Luck only played in 6. 2012-2014, 2015, 2016, 2018. He was out in 2017.

I did not realize that. Let's go back on topic.

What do you expect from Young?

Newton had 8 productive good years with the Panthers, 1 great one when he went to the SB and won MVP of the League. To me a short career would be a QB that plays 6 years or less like Luck.

Luck had more years, I think

I am bringing this back to the topic, as the thread is going off topic.

Mahomes won a SB last year as an immobile QB.

That is irrelevant. He was called a running QB. Folks here are saying they don't like running QBs because they get injured. He already won two Super Bowls.

You mentioned Newton. Look at the guys who were drafted that year. (Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker, my guy Christian Ponder, Andy Dalton). Who had the best career?

  8. 1 minute ago, Nickster said:

You said Luck wasn’t a running QB and was a prototypical pocket passer and he ran for more yards on average that Mahomes before the new craze of running QBs.

seems like you might be cherry picking to support your position.

I am not the one calling them running QBs. Folks called Mahomes a running QB. Luck was a pocket QB who ran for his life. Mahomes may run less because he does not have to.

    Just now, Nickster said:

    What about Newton?

He had a long career. I forgot about him. I forgot lots of people. Lots of pocket QBs had short careers too.

  9. 31 minutes ago, DougDew said:

The running QB have short careers if they are never successful enough in the passing game.  AKA Kaepernick.

Lol. You had to throw that in. Never fails. Goodness gracious.

He was in the NFL for 7 years and played 6 years and would have played more.

    Let's move on please.

  10. 13 minutes ago, DougDew said:

SInce AR is no longer going to be a topic since he's on the bench..(.I don't get why we would interject AR into the convo at this point?)

Might take the thread to the NFL General Section?

No, this is for Colts fans.

    22 minutes ago, DougDew said:

Mahomes is not really an example of a running QB.

He was called one by fans early on. Now that he has had success, he suddenly is not.

@NFLfan, I thought you had the NFL Channel? I have Chiefs winning.

I do have NFL Network but my cable carrier is saying they have a problem. It says, "NFL Network is unavailable." My brother lives in another state but has the same cable carrier. The game is on for him. I never have a problem with the cable; so this is new. I can call the cable company but I won't.

I will watch it on NFL+.

  12. There is a game this morning. Chiefs and Dolphins. Should be a fun game. Both teams are 6-2. Tyreek Hill is playing his old team.

The game is showing on NFL Network. For some reason or other, it is not showing on my cable carrier. Hopefully they fix the problem before the game starts in anout 20 min.

    Who wins?

Ryan Shazier, great young career cut short due to that injury

Yes, Ryan Shazier. I was watching that game. I think it too was in prime time.

Thankfully, he's doing well, got married and has a son born after the recovery.

Fantastic. I'm glad to hear that. Is he walking? I hate hearing stories of paralysis.

I wonder if the grandson of that the player who was paralyze by a hit from Jack Tatum is still playing. Stingley is his name. The grandfather was given a job by the Patriots after he was paralyzed. There is a former Lions player who was paralyzed. For a while he was the face of those who were severely injured in football. I forgot his name. I think he is still alive. In NY, the Jets had a player who sustained an injury that paralyzed him but he was able to walk again with some difficulty. I forgot his name too -- he played defense. His name is at the top of my tongue. Lol. I will remember. He passed away a few years back.

    Nope..

However my town does have an opening for head coach for 5-6 year old flag.

You may have to clear your "cache" in storage to add in your vote in the poll. So far, it is 14 to 3 against a new head coaching job in the NFL within the next 6 years.

  15. Clocks moved an hour back at 2AM this morning (ET). So, you have an additional hour to think about this matchup.

Your Indianapolis Colts are in North Carolina to face the Panthers.

    (Colts content starts at 2:42)

    Both teams are battling injuries.

Zaire Franklin was downgraded to doubtful. Braden Smith is out and his replacement, Blake Freeland, will be a game time decision. Freeland did not practice Thursday and Friday. Rookie Brents is still out.

A look at Panthers injury report:

The Colts can beat the Panthers. I hope that if the running game is working, the Colts will not abandon the run. I'm not sure what happened last week. The running game was working.

What are your thoughts on the game?

    Good Luck. Enjoy the game!
