I think Stroud has proven he's an NFL calibre QB. What remains to be seen is if, when the Texans have built around him, he can be elite.

Levis has done well with what he's been given I think. Game 1 had some explosive plays, but lacked consistency. Game 2 was against one of the more aggressive defenses in the NFL with an injured Oline to protect him.

Young has been put in the most difficult situation of all the rookie QBs I think. They lack weapons and Reich hasn't been doing him any favors. I hope he isn't ruined before they have probably built up their team.

AR has the highest ceiling to me. He's a physical freak with a cannon arm. He wants to learn and he seems coachable even if he still needs to learn to take better care of himself. He doesn't look to be in over his head despite only having played in 16 football games total. But, he probably also has the furthest to go of the bunch.

I'm rooting for AR of course, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate good football when I see it... even if it isn't from the Colts.

Well written and balanced. Love it.

Yes, they are rookies, you're correct.  The issue some of us have is saying that Levis had a great game.  It was an average game.  Take away the pick, and he would still be 56% completion, well less than 300 yards, and 0/0.  How is that a good game? I'm all for differences in opinions, but some of these same people would be trashing AR if he had a stat line like that.

I thought he had a good game, based on my standards. I don't look at stats. I watch the way the person plays. He looked good. AR looked good. The only one of the top 4 who has not looked good to me is Young. And he was my favorite pre-draft.

I think AR will be special, barring injury. He is very young, is humble and open to learning, and his athleticism is off the charts.

I think that's the issue.  There isn't another guard or LB in the NFL making what Shaq and Nelson make.  They are getting way more than market value.   I do understand your point of view, I do.  I just don't see things quite the way that you do.  Anyway, nice to get the win today.

Does it matter that no guard is making what Nelson makes (if that is true)? Serious question. Do the Colts have salary cap constraints?

If you chose to pay extra for something you value (the way the Colts value Nelson), would it matter that someone else may not want to pay as much for it?

Of course, it matters what a  player is paid. What could this team of done with the money paid to Nelson, Leonard and now Taylor? Had Ballard waited on all three, I bet he would have saved millions that could have been allocated to pick up some players in free agency.

It would matter only if the Colts were having salary cap constraints -- having little or no money under the salary cap to sign free agents. Seriously, what free agent would you have liked the Colts to pick up that was not signed because there was not enough money under the salary cap?

Note: This is a post-game thread. Read the room and notice that folks want to enjoy the win. You write about the same issue all the time.  Why post the very same comments in a post-game thread where folks want to enjoy the win? Create a different thread and talk with the others who are critical of the moves the team makes.

Anyway, congrats on the win, everyone. Enjoy it..
