He was obviously not going to be worth the money but that GM is still one of the best in the business.

I agree with you but a large percentage of Vikings fans want him fired, as he has not done a good job with the OL.

Why do you believe he is a top GM?

It was a must win today and we got it against a Very Good team on the road. Ol Andy over there in KC was trying to ruin my day though, Jeez KC why give me 2 ulcers in 1 day lmao

Did you see LOS's prediction? He/she wrote it after you made your prediction (3rd comment on 1st page). He/she had even more confidence in the Colts.

Anybody see the play with Dolphins won on? LMAO wth

I sure did. It was fantastic. I jumped off the couch. I was watching on Red Zone. I did not get to see BB or Brady. Miami has their number.

Great day of competitive football games.

    I think they will....

The team has responded to him and his staff....really for the first time in 2 years...

..and Denver's a pretty young team now...//When young players are playing well.. I'm guessing you stay with the coaches..

I meant to write that the fans sure hope he is NOT retained -- I edited it. But I agree with you. I am someone who likes continuity which I believe is undervalued. Firing coaches and GMs and starting over every other year is not good for a team. Cleveland is a good example of that.

I do remember you saying that.....about Hamilton

Watch today.  He has been stuck behind Sanders and that's over now.

I think he might catch a half dozen passes today..

...he just hasn't had the chance before today

I expect many coaching changes this year. Do you expect Denver to retain its head coach? I think the fans sure hope not.

They didnt plan it this way.   The Broncos surely didn't want Yiadom and Hamilton

starting just yet but losing Emmanuel Sanders and Chris Harris changed their plans.

I don't see a team making the playoffs with six rookies (including undrafted Phillip Lindsey) starting but it does speak well for Denver beyond this year.

Yeah, they had a good draft. I thought so after the draft. I believe I told you that I wanted the Vikes to draft Hamilton. How has he looked to you?

I believe that the Saints had many of their rookies start for them last year -- Kamara, Lattimore, Ramczyk, and Marcus Williams. Those players started pretty much the whole year. I don't know if they had other rookies (drafted or undrafted) start.

Congrats to Josh Allen winning almost every defensive award there is. Best UK defender since Art Still for sure. He also said he will play in UKs bowl game. Awesome stuff. Hard to believe he was only a 2 star with one other offer from Monmouth.

That's great. I hope he enjoys much success in the NFL.

When I think of college football, I don't think of 4-5 star players coming from my area -- New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut area. But so many do come from here. Allen was in high school in Montclair, NJ where my sister and her family used to live. (That is the city where the MN Vikings owners are from.)

Here is an article on Allen.

Did you really decide to wait till I posted to pull this year old comment up? I missed you too man haha

Hey Q, we all missed ya. Friendly rivalry is always fun. How are you doing? And your buddy Vance (I think that is his name)? Hope all is well with you.

All is not well with the Silver and Black. I wonder how many are still happy with the hiring of Chucky?

2nd best coach in CFB. Bet he does come back to coaching one day though soon (whenever the ND job is open)

My thoughts exactly. I recall that Meyer was almost hired to replace Williamham. He reportedly requested that the academic admission standards for players be eased so that he can recruit more athletic players. He was rebuffed and he apparently decided not to take the job. Now that he sees that ND can still recruit top players, I think he will coach ND whenever the job becomes open. He would be a popular choice. He was an assistant coach on one of ND's previous coaching staffs. (I forgot the head coach's name. He replaced Lou Holtz, I believe.)

Yes, because it is video only without benefit of palpation/exam, he does miss here and  there.  I believe a journalist went over his last few years calls and found a >95% hit rate though.  And this one he called classic high ankle sprain, but could be mild (that’d be 1-2 weeks).

In my mind, when a team says it is worse than they thought, it might be more than mild, so a cautionary. Watch would be prudent.

Words from Zimmerman were much different than those from Tomlin.

    I hear you.

haha Zimmer always says that injured players are "fine". That was a running joke last year because Zimmer said Bradford was "fine" after his injury early in the season, but Bradford missed the rest of the regular season. We kept expecting a player who was "fine" (Bradford) to return in a week or two but it never happened.

    What exactly did Tomlin say?

I heard Steelers say contusion, then later a sprain.  But I see Dr. Chao thinks it may be a high ankle strain; which would be bad news for the Steelers ending the season and possibly some post season RB production if it is moderate or Morse severe.  It could be just a week or two if it is mild.

Fantasy owners take note and keep tabs...

Hopefully it is not that severe. Didn't Dr. Chao also call Xavier Rhodes's injury as being much more serious than it was? Rhodes played this past week after sustaining that injury that Dr. Chao is referring to below.

    Quote:

Looking at the injury on video, Dr. David Chao, a former San Diego Chargers head team physician, said in a phone interview that he believes Rhodes most likely suffered a proximal hamstring avulsion, an injury that would end his season. Chao writes a column on NFL injuries for the Los Angeles Times and San Diego Union-Tribune and is a medical analyst for SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“Keep in mind this is based on video, but I’m concerned this could be near the only type of hamstring injury that would require surgery,’’ Chao said. “That would end his season even if the Vikings went to the Super Bowl.’’

  12. It looks like there will be lots of coaching vacancies, even some we may not expect. I like continuity. As bad as the Vikings have looked at times, I am not ready to change regimes and start all over again.

McCarthy had worn out his welcome. 13 years is a long time.

Jags are smoking us 3-0, fire Reich now for being aggressive and bring back passive Pagano :sarcasm:

Lol. Stop trolling your fellow Colts fans. :P I too like the aggressive approach. But now they need to score points whichever way they can.

  14. Thanks, Uncle Mark. Thankfully, Diggs will play. We need the Vikings OL to help in the running game and make holes for Cook and Murray. That will open up the passing game. I hope Cousins targets Cook as well as Diggs and Thielen.

Our defense seems to start slow every game and get stronger as the game goes on. Someone wrote on the Daily Norseman that Vikings defense is #1 in DVOA since Week 6. We will need the defense to step up.

    Anyway, Go Vikes. Skol! :td:

And the Chiefs say what Hunt told them is not what was on the tape.

    Quote:

Hunt continued to lie to the Chiefs

While the Chiefs quit looking for the video, due to the NFL’s instruction, they apparently didn’t take their eyes off of Hunt. They reportedly asked him multiple times since February to be totally truthful about the incident.

“I never left the room,” Hunt told the Chiefs each time, per The Athletic. “I didn’t do a thing.”

I don't know that. But the video is damning..

Imagine the scenario....Any team that signs him will face an immediate (and understandable) backlash from domestic violence advocates...  it wont go away

The video is why Ray Rice was never allowed back

Mixon's video was worse IMO and he still got drafted. Rice was allowed back but no one signed him. He was getting up in years and the year before the suspension was not a great year, stats-wise, for him. Hunt's career is just beginning. He will definitely be picked up.

I dont think think he;s going to be allowed back at all

Why? That would be unfortunate. That was his first offense. He deserves a second chance. Also, I don't believe this was domestic violence. Did he know this woman before that day? According to @Shive his girlfriend was with them during the incident.

Why not just get her out of the room and call Hotel Security, that is common sense to me. If he had done that he would still be with the Chiefs and look like a hell of a guy about now.

Exactly. You're thinking self defense. The others' mindset is "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth".
