  1. I don't think AR will collapse like a stick man under pressure, but I don't know if the result of those jail break plays will be much more positive. I'm sure some think he'll juke 2 rushers, stiff arm the third and run for 30 yards every time. It might happen a few times this season and produce some nice highlights, but the overall W/L record won't be impacted by it that much, IMO.
  2. I think this is accurate. JT is an elite runner, but not really shown to be a complete player yet. I believe there were times that he was taken out of the game due to situational circumstances (pass catching...blocking?). Yes. a RB needs a breather and I can see a series of plays where he's on the bench for that, but, IMO, an elite RB should never be taken out of a game because of situations (where there is still need for a RB on the field). There should not be a bigger threat from the RB spot than your elite RB, regardless of situation.
  3. Agree. Our QB position this year may not be much more competent than it was last year. If there is a jail break against our oline because the defense does not respect the pass, no Qb can avoid that kind of pressure and JT will have a rough time.
  4. I'd like to get Trey Palmer here. WR with deep speed.
  5. Freeland was a good pick there. Now double up on the Corner, or get Tyler Scott and get some outside speed.
  6. If we could come away with Rush and Gaines in the next two picks, that would be great. Could even trade back into the 3rd to get one of them.
  7. Steen, Dewand Jones (move smith to RG), Still on the board. And nearly all of the second round Corners. It would have to be a string of bad luck to not get a Corner or OL at 44.
  8. I hope so. At 38 we could conceivably still pick up a 3rd round and stay mid 2nd. Irsay gets his franchise QB and Ballard gets his picks.
  9. Well, Ballard had Wright and Jones in for visits. Both are projected as immediate starters and neither is projected at G. Doesn't mean they are really interested, but those are the high profile OLs they've visited with. No Cs or Gs that would be projected as day-1 starters had visits of any kind, IIRC.
  10. I wouldn't mind Richardson. But, it will require some adjustments to personnel. Interestingly, I see the Colts visited with OTs Dewand Jones and Darnell Wright. Just a vision here, but if the Colts select AR because he is their desired QB or because he's the 3rd or 4th option, I could see Ballard then taking Dewand Jones at pick 35 to play RT, shoving Smith to RG. A massive player like Jones, or a very good player like Wright, could help run that Read Option play to the right side, where now we have Smith at RT and an unknown at RG. Do we have sufficient blockers at TE and WR? or was that problematic last year without Pascal. I think this poll is hard, because I see Ballard having several contingencies for whomever is the best QB left at 4., He could sell that plan as being plan A all along. In my heart, I think the Colts prefer Levis, so I went with him. But I'm not an advocate either way really.
  11. Reported: Garrapolo EXPECTED to go to Raiders. 3/$68. Not official yet.
  12. Yes. And what's the optics here? If Fields actually said that, he's sort of saying that he doesn't want to play in CHI and would prefer to play somewhere else. So if you are CHI, why would you want to build around a QB that appears to not have his heart in it with his current team. I'm not saying that JF meant to say that, but a team having to deal with a QB who might not be All In would be a reason to move on from him.
  13. BTW, did anybody read the Fields quotes talking about how his body "slows down" in the cold, or something like that. Says he likes domed stadiums. This was a day or two before the new JF trade chatter started again.
  14. Fields fell during the draft and landed at pick 12. His career thus far questions him being a first round draft pick, especially if the team who drafted him wants to replace him with a rookie QB. I don't see any QB needy team spending anything higher than pick 20 on him. I think our pick 35 would be CHIs best offer unless some team offers a future #1. Maybe include Ryan Kelly.
  15. CAR is building a near HOF assistant coaching staff to go with Reich. I don not see them being concerned with a rookie QB at this point and will probably go with a veteran. They are shooting to win the NFC South right now. Rodgers to CAR...not that GB would trade him in-conference.
  16. He's a kick off and punt returner, not a #2 RB. We needed a real #2 RB...for the entire time he was here. Finally got one when we traded Hines.
  17. LOL. Dallas never relinquished the lead after they recovered from the shocking 1Q. And they would not have relinquished the lead all night long. Ryan's turnovers just made the score higher, but didn't change the final outcome..
  18. But the defense didn't really shut them down. They never do when the opponent has to try hard. Our offense at least made Dallas try hard. But Dallas never really relinquished the lead, and scored fairly easily as they got over the shock of us being able to move the ball.
  19. It did the first Q, and we did not really stop Dallas when we were in the ball game. Nutty comments have lectured me that I'm dumb for not knowing the 1Q is what matters. You mean the game continues after that?
  20. The defense is always exposed when our offense is having a good game and the other team has to try hard. We were still in it until the sail route stud fumbled.
  21. Don't forget, Ballard is a genius. And now we'll blame Ryan for everything. LOL.
  22. LOL. I said two things in this thread. Both are true. Should have thrown to the EZ in the first half.....golly we did now from the 16 and got a TD....go figure. And I said we should not have been aggressive at the end of the half. And something bad happened. That isn't a Parks/Jeff narrative. Its intelligence.
