  1. The rumor is the Cardinals don’t want to move out of range to get Carter or Anderson.
  2. I’ve seen mocks with him available at 4. People aren’t sure Carolina or Oakland are willing to trade up that far.
  3. A.T. Perry is a WR to keep in mind. He’s 6’5” and has been the standout at Shrine game practices so far. Could be a Pittman replacement. Xavier Hutchinson is another intriguing receiver too. Built like Alec Pierce but has real catch and run/YAC ability and good deep speed.
  4. That’s not true. GM’s are rarely let go for one or two bad blunders like trading up for a QB that doesn’t pan out or giving big money to outside FAs. That’s what people (including Ballard) want to believe. They are evaluated for their overall body of work. You can trade up and be wrong. You just can’t do it frequently and you can’t miss on everything else. Mayock was fired because he missed on just about all of his premium picks except for Josh Jacobs and his only other hits were Hunter Renfrow and Maxx Crosby.
  5. It’s about getting your guy. If whoever the Colts like isn’t there at 4, it’d be a waste to draft someone else. The 4 guys are Young, Stroud, Levis, and Richardson. Young may be eliminated based on his size and Ballard’s preference for guys with elite size, so you can’t just sit at 4 and hope Levis or Stroud are there. What if the league feels the same about Young and the QB left when we’re on the clock at 4 is him? Better to be safe than sorry.
  6. I’ve heard rumors that the Raiders like Levis and Panthers want Stroud. Might be a reason to still trade up. A week ago I thought we were fine at 4.
  7. Yeah I’d prefer not to give up a future 1st round pick. It makes sense because Chicago has a lot of needs and not enough picks to fill them all. Plus some veteran players would be a bonus to them. We can replace whatever players we lose with our draft picks this year and next. There’s also FA if Ballard decides to use it.
  8. That last line says it all. Get a young QB. To do that we may need to trade up. Especially if Stroud doesn’t declare. The players that I listed aren’t irreplaceable with the exception of maybe Buckner, but they’re replaceable. Some of those guys like Pittman are due for extensions next year anyways. Better to give up players than picks IMO. Especially if it’s for a QB.
  9. There’s several players the Bears might be interested in and several that I think should be on the trade block for draft capital: -Buckner -Pittman -Kelly -Moore -Dayo -Paye -Franklin Leonard and Nelson contracts are un-moveable, but no player should be “safe” except for JT. But if they did call for JT they’d have to send some capital back in return.
  10. I haven’t seen any Flowers tape. I just know the name because he had some buzz last year before he returned to school.
  11. I really like Jalin Hyatt from Tennessee. Not sold on our receiving core. We need a real deep threat and he can be it.
  12. I was also confused as to why we would help the Chargers out by basically calling timeouts for them. Bad clock management by Jeff.
  13. As a kid I was never really a fan of a team. I lived in Florida, Maryland, and now Jersey (born in NY though). I was a big Michael Vick fan so I rooted for the Falcons. I was also a Favre fan (before we knew he was a You know what). I became a Colts fan because I loved Peyton so I’ve been a fan since 2005-ish. Live in central Jersey. Lots of Giants and Jets fans, and people from South Jersey are all Eagles fans (South jersey is like 30 mins out from Philly). Rutgers is like 5 mins away so that’s what he have for college teams although I’m a Michigan State fan. Im also young. I’m 31
  14. A lot will depend on what happens with the coaching staff and GM. If Bradley stays I’m in favor of that Okereke deal because it’s really favorable for the Colts. There are a few things you listed, I think should happen either way though: -Cut/trade MAC -Extending Buckner and Grover -Cut/trade Leonard if you’re bringing all the other LBs back. If you sign Oke to that deal you posted, you’d basically be paying him, Franklin, and Speed less or close to what you’re paying Leonard to give you similar production -Let Pryor walk and have someone hold the door open for him
  15. Was Pryor benched? I saw him out of the lineup after Galway through the 2nd.
  16. Remember that we’re playing the Commanders though. So far he’s managing the game well.
  17. He did some creative things we haven’t seen today that we’re nice, but outside of that the playcalling hasn’t been great.
  18. Settling for a FG again. I’m glad we took the points but Jesus, we can’t get in the end zone to save our lives.
