DEN is still in control of its destiny as far as homefield is concerned. As long as they beat NE and at least have the same record going into the playoffs. But right now, NE is in the driver's seat, yes.
That's true and I think Denver has a good chance of beating NE at Denver.

The Colts win yesterday is more than just a W in the record books. After yesterday's game, I have the most optimism I've had for the Colts in a long time. They proved that they can compete with anyone. Not only did they beat the Broncos, they gave the Panthers and Patriots the biggest battles of the season for each, and that was with PEP! If we can learn from the win and gain steam into the playoffs with a win streak, I think the Colts should be considered again as serious contenders. The run game is the best its been, the defense is not laughable, heck, even the offensive line is "average". After the win I don't see why the Colts couldn't contend with the Bengals/Broncos(again)/Patriots and anyone else in the AFC. Let's hope this game ignites them for a possible super bowl run with their dark horse team, I know with Chud we can. Go Colts!
I'm cautiously optimistic. The overall play may have been better, but this game could have gone as it did with NE and the Panthers. It's not like we dominated Denver, we just got the win. One "bounce our way" in the NE and Panthers game and we would have come away with a win too. I am more optimistic, but we're most likely going to have to go through NE to get to the SB.

And threw it right to NE.
Not guaranteed, but certainly a better chance than not.

Glad to finally be optimistic again. Hopefully we take this momentum into the bye week and come out where we left off. If this team can finish the season with 10 or more wins without falling into old habits, I don't think there's any reason we can't go all the way. I sitll don't think we're the best team in the AFC, but as long as your competitive with the top teams, you always have a chance. Unfortunately, we have thrown home field advantage out the window - not to to kill your optimism, just keeping you from being incapable of coming down from Cloud 9.
And threw it right to NE.

Thank you very much. Very kind of you to help out like that. I knew you had it in you. This offense always has a punchers chance and I gotta tell you, Andrew Luck impressed the heck outta me. I always knew he was an elite talent but he is tough as nails. Those runs for first down were not the runs of a quarterback, he looked like he was on a mission. And now you know why Talib isn't in NE anymore. He's soft and once the pressure gets to him he cracks. Two years in a row he bowed out of playoff games with minor injuries. You can't count on him. Now they get a little adversity and his fingers the guy in the eyeball. Great talent, 2 cent mind.
Anyway, I know you guys are enjoying this victory and you should. That was a great win. Congrats.
That's exactly what I said to my wife last night. Of course the Colts should play their best and try and win games, but we may have very well just secured home field for NE. There are a lot of games left, but I believe NE will benefit from this win more than the Colts will. I think we could have still made the playoffs if we had lost. Again, I understand the Colts need to play to win. I'm just looking down the road. This win for the Colts could very well have guaranteed everyone has to go through NE now.

35 20 Broncos win. I hope I'm wrong.
-
Gross. I wouldn't like this at all. There is literally no indication that he has lead a good offense. Peyton is Peyton. And the Bears are bad.
I agree. I don't know how much credit I would give to an OC that has worked with Peyton. I think you could nearly do away with an OC if you have Peyton (not literally, but certainly wouldn't need one like most teams).
-
I think having a new OC will be a little wrinkle, but that's it, a little wrinkle for the Denver D. I said it before, I hope we win, but I don't think we will. IMO, Denver will be a much bigger challenge than New England. I don't think it's going to be a close game.
-
I really don't think this season changes the outlook on Luck's contract much at all.
It certainly doesn't cut his value in half, and if we think it does then someone else will gladly write the check.
I agree 100%. I don't know that this will affect his contract at all, especially if he has been playing injured. Even if he isn't injured, there's a lot more potentially and/or probably affecting his game right now. i.e. coaching, O line, etc. Luck has carried the team for a couple/few years. It doesn't take much to go wrong to hinder that ability.
-
Is it only because the Colts are part of the disarray that I'm under the impression it's so bad this year? Every other alert I get on my phone is either a QB being benched, or a coach being fired.
-
I believe We will win this game! I just don't see this team losing 4 straight games. I don't have any rhyme or reason. I believe our Defense can play well
I think we COULD beat any team. We have come very close to beating 2 undefeated teams. I don't think we'll win against Denver though. I hope we do, but I don't think we will. Denver is only getting better. Their D is ridiculous and Peyton has improved (I know the improvement was only most evident against one team, but it was GB). I'd rather have NE at home again than Denver.
-
At this point, from what I have seen no game is very winnable......sorry
Colts might play down to the level of some of the losing teams, so that's certainly not a stretch. Not that the Colts are playing up with anyone, but they have at least been close with a couple of good teams.
-
I think we'll go 8-8. Not being a pessimist as my wife would suggest, but I don't think we can beat Denver, Atlanta or Pittsburgh the way we're currently playing.
-
Nothing will.
I don't think anything will change until the season is over.

Listening to anyone except Gruden is a good thing. But yes, I do enjoy Bob.
I agree. I'm not sure why I never noticed it before, but Gruden is so over the top it's ridiculous. I realize he's a commentator and should be entertaining, but he just goes way overboard.
-
Mike Tirico's man crush on Cam Newton was a little over the top last night. Should have turned the radio on and muted the TV. At one point Cam was something like 1 for 9 and Tirico was crowning him the second coming.
Very annoying and the fact Fig Newton is so animated every time he does something good is also a turn off for me. IMO, he's one of those unlikable QBs.
-
Typically, I like Gruden's commentary during games. For some reason, tonight, he's more annoying. There are so many things he will say "he lowers his shoulder and powers through" (something like that). Replay comes up and his comment isn't even close.
-
Fiiiiiiiiiiig Newton!

a practice squad guy who will be cut.
In Kubiak's offense..... you need a lot of TEs..and the TE must be a threat.
His numbers are low because Kap cant get going.
Davis and a 7th for two 6s???....Denver's 6s and SFs 7s aren't that far apart.
Steal
Definitely a good deal. Denver should get production from him fairly quickly.
-
It should be a great playoff style game, and I think it's a month out so who knows what happens between now and then.
I agree, without a doubt, it should be a great game.
-
are you kidding me, if this is true the Broncos got a steal, the 49ers really are cleaning house completely, next up Kap after the season, I bet they will suck up every dime they owe him and cut him just to so he is off the team, because at this point nobody is trading anything but a couple footballs and rolls of tape for him
-
Denver has a better D, but their O is much worse than NE. Also most of those "close" games were over midway through the 4th, for example the steelers got their last TD w 2 seconds left.
I still say should be a great game, and I think both D be scary good that game.. My gut (and heart) say Pats win from winning the TO battle.
Also if you want be truthful, the Broncos should have lost at least TEO games, but one game the Browns refused to win lol
Denver O is improving. I'll take Denver at home against the Pats without hesitation.

Didn't they pick up another TE recently? Thought I heard that last night.

If we can keep the run game going, we have a chance. I'd rather play somewhere else though.
