Trevor Lawrence a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Browns.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s status for Sunday is uncertain enough that Jacksonville has added another quarterback to the active roster.

Nathan Rourke, a quarterback who had been on the Jaguars’ practice squad, was signed to the active roster...

  2. ...When it comes to our d-line, they rotate many different players in and out, throughout the game.

But not with our LBs... the same two or three guys play exclusively each week.

Even though he would come off the field, here and there, Shaq Leonard was entrenched as one of the starters, along with Speed and Franklin.  Didn't get to see much of anyone else, this whole year, at LB position. To the point, we don't really know how good the backups actually are? (or could be?)

I like EJ Speed. Just think we should be ok, with our other LBs in his absence.

Perhaps Stuard, Olubi or Harrison will take advantage of the opportunity presented?

  3. The storm system is moving through tonight, and will be out for tomorrows kickoff. Aside from perhaps some gusty winds, weather forecast looks ok. Cloudy around 40 degrees.

Speed is one of our best players against the run. He has also had  a few game saving plays. I know Olubi had the one against the pats but he and Stuard are not speed.

just my opinion. I don't think we will see much of a dropoff there.

They could but then you would need a back up that is capable  of winning  games incase Richardson  goes down again

Which it seems nearly every NFL team has these days.

  5. Down near the goal line (and in short yardage situations in general) Steichen needs to stop always lining up in the shotgun, and mix it up, by operating from under center, at least occasionally.

I believe lately, the reason we can't seem to get the running game going, is because they always go from the shotgun.

  6. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/page/NFLpowerranking120523/nfl-week-14-power-rankings-poll-2023-plus-coaches-players-surprise

    ESPN Power Rankings:

    16. Indianapolis Colts (7-5)

    Week 13 ranking: 18

    Pleasant surprise: RG Will Fries

It was surprising when the Colts did little to upgrade their offensive line starters after a rough season in 2022. But the ascent of Fries, a 2021 seventh-round selection, has helped validate that decision. According to ESPN data, only one Colts lineman -- Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly -- has given up fewer than the three sacks Fries has allowed. Fries has also been durable. He and guard Quenton Nelson are the only members of the unit to start every game. -- Stephen Holder

Jake Browning named AFC offensive player of the week

    Quote

...Browning has been named AFC offensive player of the week.

In just his fourth pro appearance and second start, Browning completed 32-of-37 passes for 354 yards with a touchdown in the 34-31 overtime victory. He also rushed for 22 yards with a TD.

It was a season-high in passing yards for a Bengals quarterback, as Burrow reached 348 yards in the victory over Buffalo on Nov. 5.

Browning and the Bengals are now 6-6 with the postseason still in reach. The Bengals will host the Colts on Sunday for a game that should have significant Wild Card implications.

  8. I look at this game as two equal teams battling. I think Cincinnati will move the ball against us and score. So, our offense has to do the same. imo, it's going to come down to Gardner Minshew again...

Minshew will need to avoid mistakes as the Bengals defense does seem to bring a formidable pass rush

The forecast is for wet, cold and windy weather. I'd imagine both teams are going to gameplan to run the ball, and use the short passing attack.

Watching Zac Taylor's offense vs Jacksonville, I noticed he used some rather creative play calling, our defense needs to stay disciplined against possible screens, draws and reverses.

This  gives me hope that with Richardson and Flowers back next year , this team might very well be good. Head coach is a huge upgrade too. Negative side is this division will be tough next year and maybe the 7-5 record is mostly the result of an easy schedule.

Right, and if Jelani Woods comes back? ...and hopefully, Evan Hull makes a full recovery as well.

Edit: By the way, in contrast, Browning hit receivers at all levels, in the rhythm of the offense. He avoided unnecessary pressure, didn't hold the ball, didn't run into trouble, was accurate and on time, threatened the defense down the field, and was productive from start to finish. It's one game, he was decent last week, I have no idea what he'll do moving forward, and I'm not arguing that he is better than Minshew or anyone else. But he absolutely was better than Minshew this week.

As I was watching Browning last night, he looked to me, how Brock Purdy did last year coming in

They did elevate Goodson (from practice squad) to the roster for this weeks game at Titans

Special Teams may play a part in this game. The Titans punter is killing it this year.

...Titans punter Ryan Stonehouse was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance against the Panthers, when he played a big role by pinning one punt after another deep in Panthers territory. Stonehouse is averaging a whopping 52.9 yards a punt, with a 44.8-yard net. Titans HC Mike Vrabel applauded the play of his special teams this past week, and in a division game against the Colts, the Titans need to be good here across the board, in the kicking game and on coverage teams...

Will Levis, Treylon Burks up to full participation

Titans quarterback Will Levis took a step in the right direction on Thursday’s injury report.

Levis was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday because of an ankle issue, but any concerns about his availability against the Colts should be alleviated. Levis was back to full participation on Thursday...

...Wide receiver Treylon Burks looks like he’s on track to return to action. He’s been out since November 2

Even better if he can’t roll out. Is Tannehill on IR? Is he even healthy?

Ryan Tannehill returns to Titans as backup QB to Will Levis

Turron Davenport, ESPN Nov 17, 2023

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be active and serve as the backup to starter Will Levis, according to coach Mike Vrabel...

...Willis becomes the No. 3 quarterback with Tannehill moving into the backup role.

Possibly but to be fair, we’ve already over achieved this season, and that’s without AR. Proving that coaching makes a huge difference on any roster. We’re primed for a status change providing we stay healthy

Oh, I agree. Although I still get frustrated with several aspects of this team, overall, I'm somewhat pleased that we are 6-5 and trending in the right direction in many ways. My point was, that even with our schedule, I just don't feel very confidant that the playoffs are likely.
