After careful consideration, I am picking the Colts to win, 20-18, in an ugly one.
Aren't they all ugly?

Hopefully we won't get Shawn Hochuli again as ref this week

Betting line down to 1.5 from 2.5. I guess that's because Watt is playing. We getting Speed and Brents back , should help the D . Maybe Brents is limited until he shakes the rust off... but still. Last week , I said early on the line should have been -3 and it did end up there. This week , I'll say that 1.5 is too low. Colts should be 3. Pittsburgh has been terrible and we at least "look" to be the better team. I bet early at 2.5 and am surprised to see it dropping.
Last week the line completely flipped, and Colts ended up (+3 point) underdog at Cincinnati.
So, I'm not surprised the line has dropped this week vs Pittsburgh. We get no respect.
wouldn't be shocked if it ends up a pickem' or even flips to Colts home dogs by kickoff

Stampede Blue
Is Saturday a must win for the Colts?
...is Saturday a must win?
The answer is, yes. Absolutely. Without a doubt. Of course. For sure.
The Colts must win on Saturday if they want to make the postseason. First off, the Steelers are in front of them in the standings. Beating a team you are competing with for a spot will most likely prove to be crucial. Secondly, they are at home. Losing pivotal late season games with home field advantage would be highly costly. Thirdly, there are simply too many teams waiting to take the seventh seed. Sure some of them will lose this week, but all of them won’t. Finally, a win in your conference is huge for tie-breaker scenarios. That is why the Colts are in the playoff picture to begin with. If the Colts don’t care of business on Saturday, they most likely forfeit control of their own destiny. That is somewhere no team wants to be down the home stretch...

It worked against Bucs but not since.
There are times, in every game, when a team needs to just line up and run the ball.

Was listening to Zack hicks podcast. He said he thinks colts need to go back to designed run plays and less RPO...
Just watching the last two game... this was obvious
It's like they've forgotten how to run the ball.

It doesn't hurt the Colts with all the attention Watt's concussion keeps getting.

It would be the colts luck that watt comes back. Players don’t usually come back and his concussion was reported late. He still got a few extra days though even when reported late.
Hopefully Steichen prepares for Watt a little better than he did for Trey Hendrickson

Steelers Get Huge Boost with T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith Return
...Highsmith and Watt must clear the five-step concussion protocol before they can play on Saturday. Since they are already dong physical actively on Tuesday, it would seem they are well along the path towards achieving that goal.

Steelers Blasted for Hiding T.J. Watt's Concussion
The Pittsburgh Steelers are taking some serious heat for T.J. Watt's situation.
...Once the news broke, NFL analyst Warren Sharp compared the situation to the Miami Dolphins last season with Tua Tagovaola and blasted Pittsburgh for not checking Watt's symptoms sooner and ignoring them once they did...

He was terrible in run support.
I thought our biggest problem in coverage today was how wide open the Bengals TEs would get. They sure had our zone defense mixed up.

He definitely had a couple of nice coverages today. Wasn’t he the one that got absolutely hosed on that PI call?I think it was? The Colts were arguing that the penalty should have been on the WR

Dteichen has to get more creative with running the ball. Not just run it up the gut.
Absolutely. He needs to rework the whole running attack.
...Sad to say, but our running game, is starting to look more and more like Reich's.
Shane comes out every week and the game plan seems to be pass every down and run a play here and there to try and catch them off guard.
Maybe this approach could be acceptable if your QB was Manning? or Marino? but certainly not with Minshew

He was bad today
...as was nearly every other player on the team today.
Jones also had some decent coverage at times today.
I believe, Bradley's scheme is part of the problem. Every year our corners struggle, regardless of the changing names back there. Some here might mention Stephon Gilmore? But I thought he was just average (at best) last year

Number one priority this offseason has to be fixing the secondary. Someone laughed at my post this morning about needing to draft a CB high. These backups we have are just that. Backups who should not be starters. Brent’s has not been able to stay healthy so you need to make sure you have insurance there.
I think our rookie corner #40 Jones looks like he's going to be a very good starter going forward
