PFF has Sherman giving up 3-5 for 90+ yards and a TD
PFF can have that. We all seen Sherman hand off TY to Thomas. Sherman wasn't contesting that route fully as there was an obvious communication error between he and Thomas. Hilton had a nice conversion on Sherman late in the game though.

There are 2 main reasons Seattle is SO good...
They can rush the QB with only 4, nearly every down. That is HUGE.
and .. They tackle... better than ANY team in the NFL in recent history.
If that D could not generate the rush is does... we are not talking about the Seattle DB's. at all. Just go back to the Colt game... Luck extended plays and the "great" R Sherman got toasted by TY Hilton..
The BEST PASS D IS A GREAT PASS RUSH. That has been true for EVERY great D this league has ever seen.
The good thing is... Ya start winning, ya gotta start paying these players.
That was Browner, not the "great" Sherman.

Sure they do. We don't fall behind early so far that Luck has to force passes.
I know at least 3 of those picks were when the game was within 7 points. On top of that we really have no idea if they would have stopped throwing had the Colts been in the lead. Those defenses still don't negate the deficiencies that Luck has NOW (ie. staring receivers and problems with leading receivers). Some of those throws he made were head-scratchers to say the least, especially the first pick/throw against New England.

Actually...
Kiper, McShay, Jaws, Cosell, Landry, Cowherd, and just about EVERY NFL analyst who "watches" games... agree.. and it's NOT CLOSE.
Andrew L is the real deal. He is getting it done. And he is RIGHT in the same position as Manning was for several years.
Carrying the team. sigh..
Give Indy with Andy L at QB .... SF, Sea, or Carolina's D? SB victory.
I wonder where we would be.
Luck still threw 7 INT's.. I don't think having any of those defenses changes that...

Technically 27. If were talking about points the offense put on the defense, then it's 27.
True..

Thomas runs like a 4.38 and led the NFL in deep pass receptions.
What site are you using for his receptions? I couldn't really find anything on PFF but TY was 6% higher in %deep passes according to advanced stats. I don't know if that's catches or targets though.
-
we put 37 points on them. no one put up more on that defense
34

thomas is just as much a deep threat
Not even close...

I'm not a fan of trash talk
That's what he was doing
I guess we have differing opinions on what is trash talk. Fair enough..

if andrew was able to rip that defense with worse weapons then why couldnt peyton do the same with better weapons.
Mobile QB and TY, who could get behind the defense. Peyton has a bunch of possession receivers, good one's no doubt, but nothing to keep Seattle's defense on their heels. On top of that, the Colts stuck to the run more than what Denver did as well.
-
With sportsmanship like that, it is hard to not want Denver to pound them into the field next time they meet.
Sportsmanship like what? He was just giving his opinion. These are grown men, and I highly doubt what he said hurt the Denver's players feelings any. I'd be surprised if Denver could beat Seattle 10 times out of 100.
-
Care to explain? I Like Luck, and see the potential, but I haven't seen a 20 mill demand YET. Peyton's 1st contract (re-signing) with colts was between around 14 mill a year, right? Again, I said I've been wrong about making that assumption about a player before.
Simple terms... Players are bracketed by their performance and top players, regardless if they want that kind of money, are paid the highest money. The rules are set this way so top tier players can't accept low ball offers to play with certain teams. This keeps the teams balanced.
-
You know something that we don't?
Playerd Union and rules in the CBA that don't allow that to happen...

Don't sleep on Justin Hickman is returning(most likely we will resign him) this year, he was a player as well when they moved him to ILB when training camp started then he was having a good game vs Bills in preseason before he broke his foot.
Completely agree! He was around 255-260, I believe, from what I heard when he was camp due to his move inside. He looked good I thought before he got hurt.

I actually think Lamarr Woodley will either be a Post June 1st Cut unless they try to trade him by then......Steelers are $11,769,379 OVER the cap....Making Woodley a post June 1st cut would bring them to $4,189,739 over the cap....From there I expect Troy Polamalu to be released(before June 1st) which would bring them $3,640,621 of POSITIVE cap space......Or they could cut Ike Taylor(Before June 1st) and be in the positive $2,390,621.
Would be lovely to see Woodley opposite Mathis.

Does anyone find it weird that some think Manning has fallen behind Brady because of the SB blow-out, yet he went further than Brady did this year, and actually out played him in the AFCCG?
It's not that far-fetched considering that New England probably had the weakest roster of all the playoff teams yet made it to the AFCCG.
-
Mathis also missed the last four games of the season, and the SD game. We had NO pass rush in the playoffs.
Nope.. What absolutely sucked about that year was that Bob stayed healthy all year, won DPOY, and we lost our pass rush as you said. If there was any year where I felt we had the best chance to win, that was it.
-
Maybe we'll get a 2006 playoffs Colts defense again.
Someday.
Please.
No thank you, give me that 07' defense. #1 in points allowed, yards allowed, and #3 in pass yards allowed. Run defense was top-12 as well. Losing Freeney 3/4 into the season killed us against San Diego that year.
-
Lol@guy trying to rationalize peyton having good games because he completed so many passes againsr the seahawks and got 300+ against us.
At roughly 5.7 yards/att, there better be A LOT of receptions made from that distance, especially late in the game when down 25+ points. This game for Manning was comparable to Lucks game against the Rams. The only time either QB looked comfortable was when the game was far out of reach for them and the defense was "allowing" them to play a little.
-
To a point yes but they have some studs at every level on that defense, The problem in KC is whos behind Center regardless of the fact that Smith put on air show against us....well that and a lack of weapons
They have some good players, but were vastly overrated. That defense crapped the bed against all but 1 starting caliber QB, and Romo is good for crapping out on his own without much help.
-
Cant do that Bogie
KC was undefeated an No.1 in the NFL in defense when Denver faced them....and beat them twice
You can say Seattle's 'D' is better than KC but you cant honestly say Denver didn't face any good defenses
KC's defense WASN'T good regardless of what their stats said. They played, I think, 3 starting QB's in the first 11 or 12 weeks. Its of no coincidence that they struggled or lost when playing teams with their starting QB's. Dallas was the only team they beat with a starting QB.
That defense was overrated.

This years broncos loss by far!
IMO the Seahawks were NOT that much better than the Broncos - no way no how! If the two teams played 10x the Broncos would win the majority!
This was the worst possible matchup for Denver. They would be lucky to keep ANY game within 10 points of the Seahawks. Peyton plays exactly into how Seattle wants QB's to play.
Seattle is and was by far the better team.
-
Manning threw for 330 against the Colts
Manning was under 50% and had 113 yards in the first half of the Colts game. It wasn't until the Colts DB's started dropping that he really did anything.
-
I think they still make the playoffs, but I don't think they will get a SuperBowl win in that time.

Whoever grabs Aaron Murray later on in the draft will have the steal of the draft in my opinion. That guy had virtually NOTHING around him, except for a hurt Todd Gurley, for 3 quarters of the year and really didn't miss a beat. His ACL tear is going to hurt his stock but as I said some team will have a QB-in waiting when he's 100% healthy. I watched all of them this year, and to me Murray looked to be the most ready for the pro's.
