  1. A "mediocre" year by Revis' standards is still better than around 85% of CB's in the league. So if Revis has a decent to mediocre year and it could shrink or weaken his market value then the Pats can possibly sign him for a lesser amount than what he would have gotten originally.

    Best corners in the NFL...

    Darrelle Revis

    Deangelo Hall

    Patrick Peterson

    Richard Sherman

    Aquib Talib

The Saints had or have a very good CB too.  I think it's either Jabari Greer or Keenan Lewis.

Hall?!? Are you kidding me? Just because the Redskins keep re-upping the guy doesn't make him good.

  2. The entire team is inconsistent! Havili is a good blocker & bottom line he isn't going anywhere. Why would we line Allen up in the backfield? Might as well just run the Alabama style offense with NO FB if we're gonna come down to Allen being in the backfield

We have a 2 headed monster at TE. They either need to line-up side by side or let Allen be on the line and Fleener flexed out in the slot. Or vice versa.

But if they let Havili go I guess we'll all have to deal with it. I personally feel he isn't going anywhere but we'll see I guess

Allen lined up in the FB position a good handful of times in Arians offense.. He plays the H-back role and at times(minimal over the course of the season) will be lined up there.

  3. you all fail

    half back= running back/tailback/3back

or am i misunderstanding you? (honest question)

i dont think were going to put out TE in at the HB position to run the ball, maybe the FB, 2 positon to block

Its called H-Back.. look it up and learn something before you make yourself look like a fool. It has nothing to do with the running back position.
  4. You do realize Havili is one of our BEST blockers right?

Once again you're trying to predict what's going on. You don't think Pep knows how to use weapons? He had a merry go-round of RB's at Stanford. I believe he knows how to rotate people in the line-up

We'll be perfectly fine on offense. And some of you are getting ahead of yourself, you have NO IDEA how well these players coming off injuries will even play

    Allen is better than Havili..

  5. I think its time to ditch the fullback thing and make Allen an H Back. 2 TEs that need to play. 5 solid WRs. Im including DaRick. Only trouble spots could be the rb position. And Center

I just think the 3 best wr should be on the field as much as possible

Allen has been labeled the HB already, exclusively in Arians offense.

  6. Good post.....

    I'd add this....

My concern over Dessir is that he's being talked about as a possible 3rd/4th round pick. It's one thing to miss on a 6 where Mathis was taken... not as much of an investment. But if you miss on a 3, then you're sunk. If we could grab him with our

5 or 6, I'd be much better with that, but at this point, I don't see that happening. So, as much as the conversion is an issue, also where a team drafts him is the other issue. The higher the pick, the greater the risk. And at this point, I'm trying to keep risk at a minimum for the Colts...

    Hope that clarifies my thinking....

Mathis was a 5th rounder, but yep we are definitely on the same page...

  7. Explain that to me please?   IF manning and brees are gone...then that saves them 20 mil in cap basically.  How is that hell?

Assuming their base salaries for the year are going to be eaten by their teams possibly and that they are two very well paid QB's? I haven't looked into either of their contracts but I'm not quite sure they jump ship on them like we did - say Satele - and just eat ~1MIL in money. I have to assume they are going to eat up more with how they are paid and when they are released. Again, this is just me guessing...

  8. Not one mention of Montori Hughes by any poster here... Wilfork I wouldn't mind as long as he was on a very generous contract - to the Colts. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Montori isn't flexed between DE and NT more this season. The limited snaps he got at NT this year were very promising and I would like to see him get a little more time in that position. I think they may find another guy to bring in as the 3rd guy in that rotation behind Chapman and Hughes, but I have to believe it will be someone late in the draft or someone that went undrafted.

  9. I'm completely with you on this, HOWEVER I put more emphasis on your point here with QB's than other positions. Mathis was drafted out of Alabama A&M and Polian stated the main reason he took Mathis was because he completely dominated against his opponents. Now, I don't believe Polian seen Mathis being AS GOOD as he turned out to be, but I agree with Polian in that if your looking at the D2/D3 level they just absolutely have to dominate. I've never heard of this guy, but if he was head and shoulders above his competition at the D2 level I would have to give him a strong look.

Mathis also had 20+ sacks his final year in college. I'm glad Polian gave him a shot here.

  10. a huge note of caution on this guy.

    Division II

There are NFL teams who shy away from small school division I guys, much less division II.

The conversion from being able to be a star against D-2 nobody's to being good against NFL starters is beyond difficult.

Guys struggle going from the SEC to the NFL.

So, going from D-2 might take a year or two to adjust. Buyer beware!

Don't get me wrong..... I like the kid.... and maybe he's worth a 3? Maybe? But this is not a slam dunk pick.....

I'm completely with you on this, HOWEVER I put more emphasis on your point here with QB's than other positions. 11. Lets assume we go into the season with our defense as it stands now.

Ricky Jean Francois/Cory Redding, Josh Chapman, and Arthur Jones, OLB being Robert Mathis and Erik Walden/Bjoern Werner, ILB being D'Qwell Jackson and Jerrell Freeman, with our secondary being Greg Toler, LaRon Landry, Delano Howell, and Vontae Davis (feels so good having him back  )

How would you feel about this? Obviously everyone would probably like to see a new safety in place of Howell, which likely will happen in free agency or in the draft.

Still need some help at NT and clearly another starting safety.  Jackson and Jones are nice pick ups but till we get a big monster NT we are never going to be very good at stopping the run out of the 3/4.

I think they are probably going to look at Montori playing NT behind Chapman and backing up the DE's as well. I wouldn't mind another NT, but Hughes looked pretty good when he got his snaps at NT.

  12. I think we sign Decker to start Free Agency. We just seem interested in him and I bet Grigson feels that we have to sign him right away or we won't get him. We als have had little or no interest in guys like James Jones, Hakeem Nicks and Jarius Byrd that for different reasons could be picked up instead of Decker. I'm worried about CB the most with Davis most likely gone, but I think we go CB in the draft.

I will be greatly disappointed if WR is our first addition, and especially if its Decker. If they are going to overpay for him, there is a good handful of other players I'd rather over pay for that are actually *needed*.

  13. I'm telling you guys, as a Buckeye fan and having watched him play A LOT, Roby isn't that good. He's not that great in man coverage, gets lost at time when playing zone, still has issues in playing the ball and the receiver (much like Cassius Vaughn), and isn't good at tackling in the open field either. He doesn't play as nearly as fast as his combine time.

Ohio State doesn't play the toughest of schedules and rarely sees top quality WR's. However, their secondary all around was horrible this year and Roby should be far from excluded. No doubt somebody will jump at him in the 2nd round, but don't seeing him being any better than an average 2 to possibly being a decent nickel corner. I hate talking about my favorite teams players like that but the hype this guy has received has been amazing.

  14. Jaws could have given better credit than that. I'm not a huge fan of Manziel, but I think his potential to be good is there. Where he will succeed or fail is if he has "it" between the ears.

Manziel had outstanding games against Alabama. If there is ANY team in college football that can test a QB, a young one at that, Alabama is the team to do it. Saban was throwing everything at him and he handled it very well. Sure, he had his bad games, a la Missouri late in the season, but ALL QB's do during their college careers especially early on.

Again, its going to be the intangibles that are going to determine his career. Does he have the heart/mental fortitude to make his NFL career last longer than his rookie contract?

  15. Pretty sure the Broncos will look at him in the 3rd as an Eric Decker replacement. And IDK about him. On one hand he was called an average athlete, and then he dominated one of the best corners in college in Bradley Roby. Problem was no one knew whether it was because Abbrederis was good or Roby was bad.

The knock on him is he's pedestrian. Only an average athlete. I'm sure he'll be a dependable receiver.

Oh, Roby isn't as good as he's hyped to be. As a Buckeye fan, the guy looked completely lost at times in coverage and when asked to play man he was easily dominated as well - hence what Abberderis did to him in their game this past year. A case of one guy being underrated with the other being overrated.

  16. I might be the only one but I don't think Clowney will ever live up to his hype. he may be a great athlete and you can't teach 4.5 speed to a 6-5 265 pound guy but I think he's the kind of guy who got by on his athletic ability and didn't learn much about playing the game. NFL will expose him for his lack of work ethic,

Just goes to show that all the athletoc ability in the world can only take you so far. There are A LOT of guys, who are regular everyday guys, who have all the talent needed to play in the NFL but just don't have the heart/mental fortitude to play. Thats why I have a hard time taking the Combine seriously. There will never be a measurement for heart and intangibles and without that, all the athletic ability in the world will only carry you so far..

  17. Dont tell me what Im being, and you should reread my statement again especially the part that goes 'HE WAS UPFRONT IN STATING HE HAD TO SIT DOWN TALK ABOUT IT WITH HIS FAMILY AND DO WHATS BEST FOR THEM AND HIMSELF...Which again any player who thought things through logically would do.......There was nothing politically correct about that statement....Dont be naive

Sure you are... If you believe Decker is going to be the guy to take less than what "he" believes he's worth - and somebody WILL pay it, regardless of what he says he's going to do with his "family", you are sorely mistaken.

  18. How was that a scripted response, He was very upfront in stating he had to sit down and talk about it with his family and agent and do whats best for his family and himself which any player should do, He also said that the Broncos organization that anyone would want to come to...which it seemingly is at least till Peyton retires, He states its a winning organization, which it has been.

It's called political correctness. Don't be naive. The same thing, in varying form, is said by most valued FA's. Its always about the money, because if it wasn't, the Raiders would never have been able to spend any money on anyone. The Raiders haven't done anything in over 10 years yet they somehow continue to lure high price FA's. It's always about the money as it's still a business.

  19. You know which team out of the QB needy teams is most likely to pass on a QB. Jacksonville Jaguars with Gus Bradley.

He will get Clowney at pick No.3, then turn around get Garropollo in round 2, and build a D to win much like when he was DC with the Seahawks. That is just my gut feeling.

Wouldn't surprise me.. Garropollo is an eye opener. His release is insansely quick. You think he goes in round 2 though?
