  1. I hope they fire Kubiak now, let Wade Phillips coach the remaining games with Keenum as their QB, and then go about 4-2 to finish on a high note.  Then they decide that Phillips/Keenum is the coach/qb nucleus they'd like to build around for the next 6-8 years.

That would make a laughable franchise even more laughable & they are certainly dumb enough to do something like that.

  2. Good God do the Texans suck.  They couldn't handle a bad Oakland team, at home, who's backup QB was starting his first game ever.  Matt McGloin, whoever the hell that is, had no problems at all shredding the Texans defense.  Here's how the scoreboard looks now:  Case Keenum 0-4, Matt McGloin 1-0.  The Texans are just a bad, bad football team.  They aren't "close" to anything.

To think there were actually people who picked that garbage team to contend for a Super Bowl.....lol

  3. Why are you acting like you were game, you pansy? You had your chance. But you decided to cry, run to the mods and get me banned. So shut your piehole and quit pretending like you were down for anything.

In fact, I better leave the general forum all together now, else "House" well tell Nadine on me again, and I'll get a stern email, 3 warning points and banned for 2 weeks.

  4. You lost 14 games in 2011 to "let" the Texans have the division? ;)   Pretty sure that was to secure Luck.

I think losing one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game for the season might have had something to do with us losing 14 games that year.  Had Peyton played that season he would have finished ahead of the Texans, just as he had every season of their existence prior to that.

Then of course came the complete rebuilding of our franchise last year, which took all of what, 10-12 games for us to completely start over, and then become better than Houston.

Your welcome for those 2 titles, Houston.  Now its back to your rightful place at the bottom of the division.  Hope you can hold off the mighty Jaguars for last place.

  5. lol....there were many Texan fans that thought he was the missing piece to a Super Bowl team.

I remember one individual on here running his mouth about some nonsense like they don't need him now;  they just need him for when they play the Patriots in the playoffs.

I should go back in the archives and unearth that gem.

  6. Yep, just as i've said many times:  that team's window started closing around the middle of 2012, and it's completely shut now.....lol.  I thought they might squeeze out a 9-7 record this year, but I guess not.

At least they have those 2 division titles that we let them have.

  7. IMO when game tape gets out on Keenum he will be as average as Schaub. I think Schaub will be back as the starter in 2 or 3 games when the Texans keep their losing streak alive. The kid looks like a gunslinger and the picks will start coming. I wasn't impressed with him at all. But that's just me, seeing as how everyone else is praising his game play so far.

Hope Kubiack gets well soon and gets back on the sideline healthy.

While I agree that it is way too early to anoint him as the second coming, to say you weren't impressed with him at all?  Really?

I find him to be pretty darn impressive.  Moves well, extends plays, poised, confident, strong enough arm, accurate enough arm, looks like he reads defenses pretty well.

How is 621 yards and 4 td's against two excellent secondaries not impressive at all?

  8. Yardage wise they are the best in the NFL...Points allowed has been skewed by all the pick sixes and turnovers.  But that was before Cushing went down.

Actually, the yardage allowed is the thing that is scewed by all the pick sixes.

Think about what happens when you throw a pick six:  Your offense gets the ball 2 possessions in a row without your opponent's offense even seeing the field.  Hard to gain yards when your offense isn't on the field.

The Houston defense is average.  Opponents convert a high percentage of 3rd downs, and score very easily on them in the red zone.  That's not good defense.

  9. Sky..

I dont think they run well because of the backs..Its the O-line..which I think is better than you say.

It was against KC..did you see that game?

WE don't play well on the road and Houston almost beat KC at KC

...I think minus-2 will go down as the week goes on

Yeah.....those peformances at SF and at Jax were horrid.

    Solid point.

  10. Houston Texans:

Special Teams ranking (according to Football Outsiders) - 30th

Opponents red zone scoring percentage ranking - 31st

    Run Defense ranking - 28th

Points Allowed per game ranking - 27th

Oppenents number of plays per game - 56.3.....fewest in the NFL

So, these rankings pretty much hammer home what I said above:

    Houston's special teams is poor

Houston's red zone defense is poor

    Houston's run defense is poor

Houston allows alot of points per game

Houston's opponent's offenses aren't on the field much due to Houston's pick 6's keeping the opponents offense off the field  and/or poor special teams giving the opponents offense a short field

There's a reason Houston is 2-5, and it's not just because Matt Schaub or TJ Yates threw one pick six in games that Houston loses by 3-4 touchdowns.

Texan Fans that have trouble coming to grips with these facts, spend alot of time doing this:

  11. Yeah.....it's pretty hard for opponents to have 100 yard receivers against the Texans when their offenses are barely on the field due to Houston's QB's throwing pick 6's & their special teams are giving up return TD's or short fields.  Not to mention the Texans are always losing, so their opponents run the ball alot (and very easily against Houston's poor run defense) in order to drain the clock.

And opponents sure don't have issues scoring points against the Texans, that's for damn sure:  27.7 ppg?  lmao.  Houston's red zone defense is complete garbage, as well.

Oh well.....they'll always have those 2011 & 2012 division titles that we let them have.

  12. Not trying to be snarky to you, but anyone who thinks they can judge a draft after 7 weeks, or even 16 games, obviously doesn't understand the NFL.

So I guess that means any proclamations to the contrary, like saying this was a good draft, are way too premature, as well.

  13. I think many of our members were about 5 or 6 years old back then. 2 era's back now.

    Not exactly relevant.

More relevant to today were the proclamations that Houston was the new king of the AFCS. Early summer of 2012, even with Luck on board, we were "doomed" to follow well behind Houston.

    Those were pretty funny.

Some of us.....like me, for instance.....correctly pointed out before this season started that the Texans peaked 2 years ago, and that their small window had started closing mid-2012.  Right around when Aaron Rodgers made their over rated defense look like a junior high team.

I had them at a average to slightly above average 8-8 to 9-7 this year, and it looks like I grossly overrated them.
