  1. Here’s what I see… The pass rush you complain about was 4th in the NFL with 51 sacks. When you complain about lack of pressure, I’m going to introduce you to Charlie Partridge, the new highly regarded DL coach brought in to make his unit even better. Regarding that WR to take the top off, Campbell was hurt 3 of his 4 years and Pierce, for all the complaining people do about him, averages 15 yards a catch. That’s roughly 3 yards per catch better than Pittman and Pierce should only continue to get better. You think Pierce is a JAG, I see potential.
  2. Ballard took Campbell because that’s who Frank loved. And do you know who else passed on McLaurin, Brown and Metcalf? The rest of the NFL 2-3 times each. Those guys went in the 50’s and 60’s. Everything is obvious in hindsight.
  3. “I just dislike stubborn people that hold on to their beliefs when they are proven wrong” Just out of curiosity…. Are there any mirrors in your home?
  4. Safety. Adams? Michael Adams? Signed by Ryan Grigson, not Chris Ballard. Is there another Adams I’m forgetting? As for how players were acquired…. Who cares? Seriously, who cares?!? Free agency and trades are all legitimate legal ways of brining in talent. It doesn’t matter how, it only matters that they were brought in. Your never ending attempts to down play Ballard’s ability are laughable. Why do you think you get so much push back?
  5. For what it’s worth…. This is the short version of the interview. About 4:30. Later in the day, Eisen posted the longer version, the full interview. It’s roughly 11 min long. I’d post it if I could.
  6. Looks like a chunk of your post dropped out. Has averaged (WHAT?) in his career. Lawrence is on the verge of signing a big extension. This is right up there with your non-stop Cooper Kupp is a product of the system remark. Except that the Rams made him a top-10 paid WR. If he was a system guy they wouldn’t have given him such a big contract. You paint yourself into corners with some of your arguments.
  7. Year one, bad head coach and staff. Year two, new coach and staff make the playoffs. Year three, the Jags were doing fine then finished badly. Lawrence was playing with a high ankle sprain. When he’s healthy, Lawrence is really good.
  8. That trade also had a little something to do with the QB Reid has and the TE as well. Forget their names but both are said to be well above average.
  9. Good for you. But maybe a team doesn’t want to trade down to 15. Look at the 2020 draft. 1. Lawrence 2. Wilson 3. Lance 11. Fields after a trade up 15. Jones I may be missing one. But only Lawrence has worked out and many here are underwhelmed with him. The rest have not worked out. There are plenty of examples about trading up to get a guy near the top and it doesn’t work out.
  10. He hasn’t traded that far up because it would be way, Way , WAY too expensive. With where the Colts have been picking, it would cost a fortune. And the player still might not work out.
  11. FWIW: That number…. 19-21 players with first round grades is among the largest numbers Ballard has ever made public. Some years he has tossed around numbers like 12 and 14.
  12. What makes you think Ballard is afraid of anything?
  13. Are you going to tell me that I haven’t heaped tons of thanks on you? How many times have I said thank you and that you are way too kind with your praise? The answer is many. I’m sorry you seem not to remember those moments. Sorry about the headache. The feeling was mutual.
  14. I think if the Colts get a WR in the top-50 picks, or so, I think the Colts would agree with you.
  15. I didn’t think it was three years ago. I’m not sure we’re talking about the same thing. If you want, you can post the thread you found here. I’ll be able to tell if that’s the thread or not. I know what you said. As for starting stuff…. I’ll turn the other cheek. Clearly you don’t want to be pressed and you don’t want to be wrong. You live your life. I’ll try to stay out of it.
  16. FWIW: Today I listened to a guy from The Athletic interviewed on ESPN. (Darren Lee). He said interviewing GMs at the combine, almost all view DeJean as a safety except two teams. He thinks the Colts and Jags view DeJean as a corner. I don’t know this reporter, never seen him before, so I can’t speak to his credibility. But it sounds like he did a lot of homework. And I appreciate your view on pro day times being reliable or not. I’m always skeptical on pro days. But I thought DeJean helped himself on his testing.
  17. I’m with ya.. I'm not sure we’re going WR at 15 either. I think we could go DE, and it’s possible we could go CB as well. Gosh, I love Mitchell and really like Arnold as well. And if we trade back I would be fine with McKinstry or a DE on defense or one of the 2nd tier of WRs that could be there in the 20’s. So many options. I keep reminding myself, every pick could produce a surprise, because I think Ballard will have so many options to choose from. Im also not sure Ballard will use all 7 rounds. He finished in 5 rounds in his first draft 2017, and he finished in 6 rounds in 2019. Maybe he uses all 7 rounds, but I’m not confident we will. One week from tonight.
  18. Seriously…. To move up for Nabors it’ll cost much more than a 3 and a Day Three pick. That offer was to move up a little. To move up as far as Nabors, the compensation would be much more expensive. Like a 2 and a 4, and maybe a future pick. Which you may be willing to do. But I seriously doubt Ballard and Steichen would go that far.
  19. Yes…. From Jeremiah. 8 out of 10 6 out of 10 6 out of 10 5 out of 10 5 out of 10 Ill see if I can do the same from other analysts in the days to come. By the way, I tried to send you a private message. It was blocked to me. Would you like all of our discussions public, or would you be willing to open PMs to me? Either is fine. Up to you.
  20. Well, if the Colts try to move up, it’ll cost a 3 and likely a Day Three pick. Thats expensive and would potentially prevent the Colts from filling certain positions thru the draft. I suppose it’s possible.
  21. I don’t see the Colts using the first two picks on defense, though I suppose it’s possible. I believe one of our first two picks will be a WR. Hard for me to believe the Colts would wait until R3 or 4 to take a WR. That makes no sense to me.
  22. I just went thru Daniel Jeremiah’s top-50. The first 8 players were offense 14 out of the first 20 were offense. 20 out of the first 30 were offense 25 out of the first 40 were offense. 30 out of 50 were offense. And it’s roughly similar over on ESPN. This is not a secret. It’s been called a heavy offensive draft since evaluators started talking about it. This is not my opinion. It’s the viewpoint of professional evaluators.
  23. Are you telling me you have no recollection of spending a week saying you thought Luck was coming back only to have it flame out into nothing. Whether or not you started the thread or not. You have no recollection? What I’m saying jogs no memory with you? And definitely after 2021.
  24. I think if Thomas is a late roster cut, then ideally the Colts would like to add him back to the PS. He’d be eligible for that, wouldn’t he?
