  1. Thanks for this wonderful read. I didn't know that Peyton already bought a house in Denver. I was worried what would happen to them if Mike Shanahan loses his job and wants to move back in his home Peyton was renting :D

    I love this:

You try to get acclimated, but there are things you are supposed to do when you play for an NFL team and I believe one of them is you are supposed to live there.

"You are supposed to be part of the community and you are supposed to give back. It's not a part-time job. You don't play somewhere for six months, go someplace else and come back"

    Also, this is cute:

Is Von Miller thankful for Peyton Manning?

"Everybody is thankful for him," the Broncos' star linebacker said as he walked through a hallway outside the team's dressing

Just then, the Broncos' owner walked down the same hallway and overheard the conversation.

    "Me too," Pat Bowlen said.

Let us all be a blessing to others!

  2. sure it still is to some extent a company line, but if were desperate would go after someone see this for latest so far

also still havent promoted Jeremiah Johnson to active list so keeping a spot open encase do go after free agent,

I think if promote vfrom practice to active must play ceratin amount of weks before going back to practice but not sure

    http://forums.colts....ir/#entry338702

It's 9 weeks or fewer. We have some time/schedule to run some experiment. I'm sure they are covering all their bases.

  3. we still dont know if Porter even cleared to play, he is to practice but I have no idea abouit playing , he may be cleared he may not

    ======================================

Peyton Manning says Broncos can overcome McGahee's absence

Peyton Manning said the Broncos will undoubtedly miss injured running back Willis McGahee, but said he believes others can do a good job filling the void.

"Knowshon (Moreno) and Lance (Ball) and Ronnie (Hillman), and (they) all have to step up,

and everybody else has to step their game up too, when you're missing one of your top players. And those guys will step up and do a good job."

I know this is the company line. I heard it from McCoy, Elway and Fox. But...it's nice to hear from Peyton's mouth. A Denver CBS sports guy tweeted that one Broncos exec he talked to said they were not worried at all... Alright then!

  4. Broncos-Chiefs Wednesday Injury Report

Bolden DNP, Green, Dt, Wolfe all limited, others with issues full participation but are issues like Hillman again Hamstring & now we need him, porter still ilness but full practice, no idea if cleared to play

Chiefs are hurting , may be no one to protect quinn or to throw to even & iff can play , how well & for how long

it would be handoff to Charles all day most likely

    http://www.milehighr...y-injury-report

    have a good thanksgiving all

    Thanks, Barry!

Yay, Kupe! Hillman is a worry but Knowshon is fully healthy ;) I'm anxious to see how Porter does.

    Happy thanksgiving to you!

  5. 1) this is a defensive player of the week award, not DPOY. No argument can be made that Miller had a better game than Smith.

    2) stats are useless. There are too many variables outside the players' control that effect the stats, which are often times difficult to measure in the first place (i.e. how close does one have to be for a pressure?). For example, Miller plays vs worse teams than Smith (AFC West is by far worst division, nfc is much better than afc), Smith competes with other studs on that D for plays, etc. Stickin with the niners, pat willis and justin smith are good examples of players with massive impacts who have lesser stats than infefior players who play the same position...heck Andrew Luc has a QBR below 80 but he is the best rookie Qb I have ever seen, even with RG3 and RW posting QBRs of 90+...

Von Miller is amazing.....total stud....potential HOFer at this rate....but lets not pretend he is way better than Aldon SMith. Watching both these guys play, it is clear both are probably the best at their position right now

    1) Sure. I'm more reacting at Smith's attitude toward Von Miller. I thought, dude, sack is just one thing of many.

    2) Stats are not useless but it's misleading a lot of the times. I don't think Denver's schedule has been easier than the Niner's thus far. It is now beginning to really ease. My feeling is that Denver has played against better O lines than the Niiners has so far too. But obviously I don't watch or follow all NFL teams, so this is just my impression, which is often wrong admittedly. One thing I agree with you, though, is Andrew Luck is the best rookie QB I've ever seen.

  6. Aldon Smith had a monday night record 5.5 sacks + a FF v. a 7-2 Bears club and Miller gets it? Love me some Von Miller but Smith is coming off the best defensive performance the NFL has seen in a long, long time. Perhaps it is because he is overshadowed by the other big-names on that defense...

Other than TFL stats I mentioned above, here is what IOAFM says:

By PFF's accounting, Von has 61 pressures (13 sacks, 11 hits, 37 hurries) in 663 snaps (9.2%), while Smith has 43 pressures (15 sacks, 9 hits, 19 hurries) in 618 snaps 7.0%). It's not exactly a close call. The site's grades say the same thing - they have Von at +60.1, and Smith at +14.6.

  7. In other news, Broncos cornerback Omar Bolden (concussion vs. Chargers) did some stretching but was without a helmet and did not participate in drills.

Defensive end Derek Wolfe (thigh vs. Chargers) appeared to practice on a limited basis during the early portion of practice that was open to the media.

WEATHER: The current forecast is calling for Sunny weather with a high/low of 55/29f.

    http://www.milehighreport.com/2012/11/21/3675414/denver-broncos-kansas-city-chiefs-first-look

Thanks. It's nice not to see Porter/Kuper/Doom mentioned in injury report. I gues Doom's shoulder is just fine!

    And the weather!

  8. For the Broncos, losing McGahee is a potential blow, both to the Broncos and his career. The Broncos' offense features a systematic passing game directed by quarterback Peyton Manning, but the running game has been a significant component because McGahee has proven to be an effective enough alternative to keep defenses honest.

McGahee has run especially well against nickel packages, which in turn has helped freeze defenders a split second during Manning's play-action pass attempts.

The Broncos don't really have another back like him. Ronnie Hillman is an outside, speed runner. Lance Ball is a solid back, but doesn't match the authority McGahee runs with between the tackles. Knowshon Moreno runs hard between the tackles, but doesn't have McGahee's strength.

Ball, Hillman and Moreno are all effective as runners off screen passes.

I realize that McGahee is eligible to return for the AFC championship game (!) but I figured it's pretty safe to assume that he is done for the season. I'll treat it like a bonus if he is able to return and if we are still alive then.

It's unfortunate to lose him. He will alos be missed off the field. It's true we don't have a back like him, but this is how it goes in the NFL. I'm going to keep an open mind as to what our plan B is.

  9. Broncos to see a familiar face Sunday at K.C. in former QB Brady Quinn is starter

Overall, however, Quinn steps into a difficult spot as the Chiefs could be missing three starters in the offensive line Sunday against a Broncos defense that leads the league in sacks.

In two previous starts to go with some spot duty, Quinn has completed 35-of-58 passes (60.9 percent) for 308 yards to go with three interceptions.

He has not thrown a touchdown pass this season and also tried to play with a concussion earlier this year, in a Week 8 loss to Oakland.

    ((( ATTACK HIM )))

Kyle Orton, Tim Tebow, Brady Quinn. We had fun last year, didn't we? Thank God, it's all about business now.

It's goning to be a warm day, thankfully. I'm feeling optimistic once again this week.

  10. On the strength of a three-sack performance against the San Diego Chargers, linebacker Von Miller took home his second career Defensive Player of the Week Award for Week 11.

In addition to sacking Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers three times last Sunday, he forced two fumbles and registered six tackles — two of which were for a loss.

Miller’s three sacks led the AFC for the week, and he is now the only AFC player to record at least three sacks and two forced fumbles in a game in 2012.

He currently ranks second in the NFL and first in the AFC with 13 sacks while leading the league with 23 tackles for a loss.

    http://blog.denverbr...ond-dpow-award/

    Yay, Von!

23 TFL is by far the best among linebackers (L. David and A. Smith both have 13). He is also tied for first in forced fumbles (4), second for QB hits (17). No sophomore slump for Von.

  11. TELL IT TO FOX

Broncos reportedly set at RB without Willis McGahee

    story & video

Video - Fox feels good with who they have , they may discuss later in week about it

    Hillman , ball & Moreno

Jeremiah Johnson on their practice squad

, we may or may not decide to look for another player but we feel good about people we have right now, we will see how practice goes to see who is active, usually have 3 by committee so must likely Moreno

So Knowshon is going to get another chance. We shall see if he can do anything. If not, he was a massive bust. Here is to hoping he can be the back we believed him to be back in in 2009. I'm going to stay optimistic. For now.

    (Prison's locked down, so I'm here instead :) )

  12. NOTHING YET ON ADDING ANOTHER RB

click on next above the picture near the right side for discussion of each

There is a peyton & general Bronco story under picture on first page

    Hang onto the football

    Faster starts

Ground attack to sell play action esp without Mcgahee

Stay on the field -- broncos seem to convert 3rd & 5 easier than 3rd and 1 and happens to often so cnt susstain all drives esp early

Sticky fingers - still to many drops 4 last sunday

    http://www.rantsport...mprove/#slide_1

    All true.

I'll add another: John Fox need to stop being way too conservative. It's okay to go for it 4-and-1 sometimes at 40-yard line even if we have a steller kicker.

  13. Big WR, had heallth or character issues , cheap find,, DT seems to keep injuring a kneee when I watch a gamme, or at least shakes it off

Not my arm, Right Hip, Groin, & top of right Pelvis called Illiac crest

all 3 areas so hard to clear up, finishing some vital e0-mails & got this

Mcgahee was to big an issue not to report, anothe link d said its tues when will try out other backs including slaton

Hope you heal up real soon, Barry. Sorry you are hurting.

  14. You may get your chance! Can't wait for this one, our coaching staffs are linked, a few players are connected as well, these provide good fodder for media build-up. Clash of the Titans if this happens again in the playoffs.

Yeah, Eddie Mac was commenting how weird it was to see friends/familiar faces on the other sideline. You'd think it's Denver coaching stuff if you didn't know.

It would be nice for us both to get there ;) We still have more work to do though.

  15. Miller didnt have 4 sacks, haad 3, 4th was Dumervil to end game

Nice to see DJ williams tackle RB for a loss

Worried about Mcgahee Knee,, looked bad , Even DT after a catch held kneee but never left

No idea if wolfe came back in or not after injury and no mention in any article omn him

so all will have to get own info on Denver

Chargers alexander is quite good, andf he was there for anyones taking , amazing, tall big & strong with hands, character or health issues forgot which was why realeased, was a former first round pick I heard

Von now has 24.5 sacks in 1st 25 games. Only HOFer Derrick Thomas (25 sacks) had more than him, and Von played part of last season one-armed. Pretty amazing talent.

Wolfe did come back, and I'm happy to see DJ playing inspired. I'm bummed we lost Willis but we must find a way. We'll get Kuper back soon.

It's too bad the Chargers has Alexander guy. He played better than Thomas and Decker. Demaryius seems imjured, though he played through it...

And yes, please rest your arm. I'll try to be more self sufficient :D Thanks for all your notes!

  16. Lol. I welcome the challenge! To be the best you have to beat the best. As long as we don't have to fly to Mile High again I'm good lol.

I want another chance at Houston. We are a much better team now (though we lost Willis). I still think Houston is a better team, but I feel that we have a better shot at beating them now.

Our defense was amazing. When Peyton has a so-so game and we can still beat a desperate division rival comfortably, we are in good shape.

  17. That puts a damper on things, makes yesterdays win that much more important \\

    6-8 weeks = mid playoffs

    http://www.milehighr...ter-tearing-mcl

Wow, this is terrible news. It's a big loss. He was a reliable back who earned Peyton's trust. I'm seriously bummed.

Ronnie Hillman hasn't shown that he can run between the tackles and Lance Ball is not a good option.

Do you think Adai is a viable possibility? Personally, I would want to see if Knowshon Moreno can step in. I don't know what the issue is with him for the Broncos, but he was a great back in Georgia only several years ago. Why do we keep him around if we had completely given up on him? This can be an opportunity for him to revive his career.

  18. I don't see Denver ever matching those teams. TD is a Hall of Famer, and they are crazy for not putting him in there, yet putting Curtis Martin in there. I would have put him in there before Jerome Bettis to be honest.

Oh my god, this made me laugh out loud. My husband and I just talked about these guys this morning. No disrespect to Curtis Martin, but we agree with you. Wait, is Bogie really your name? Is that you???

  19. Before signing with Broncos , while still In Indy he flew out Denver cutting edge specialist greg roskeptf in muscle activation techniques, a rehab specialist to work with as couldnt use colts rehab unit. the specialty finds traumatized muscles & then trains others to compensate for them.

Thanks for posting this article. I've gone through ART for my overuse injuries. It's quite painful but very effective. I'm glad Denver has some great practitioners. Thank you, John Lynch!

  20. The 2012 Broncos don't have a Terrell Davis, and if anything I don't know why he's not in the Hall of Fame. He was the real MVP of those teams. If anything, this Broncos team reminds me of those 80's ones.

Oh to have a back like TD ( Oh I Do My Back Is TD = Terrible Daily -- LOL )

I mentioned this to my husband, and he said "I know why he is not in HOF. East coast media bias." Thought you might like that, Barry ;)

  21. I disagree with that article. The 97 and 98 Broncos had something called Terrell Davis that made up 75% of their offense. Sure Elway this Elway that, but I don't think they would have beat the Packers without Terrell Davis in that Super Bowl. GB did a good job keeping Elway in check, but Davis totally ran all over them. They got lucky playing that Atlanta team the next year. Minnesota would have put up a much better fight that year. I am quite certain Minnesota probably would have blown them out in that Super Bowl. That defensive line was down right scary in '98, and Cunnigham to Carter and Moss was just unstoppable. It felt like destiny that the Vikings would win it all that year.

The 2012 Broncos don't have a Terrell Davis, and if anything I don't know why he's not in the Hall of Fame. He was the real MVP of those teams. If anything, this Broncos team reminds me of those 80's ones.

I don't think the author disagrees with you. He of course mention TD in his long article if you read the whole 2600+ words. Sorry my excerpts didn't include that. And yes, it's always really tricky to compare two offenses if no downright impossible, but I think he does so with care and wider prospective than just some stats.

I agree with every single thing you said here. TD was the main feature of the 97/8 Bronocos. He was as dominant a back as I've seen before or since.
