  1. Defense says it too, especialy Bailey their leaader

offensive tackle Ryan Clady expected to be ready for playoff opener

Offensive tackle Ryan Clady is expected to practice next week and play in the Broncos' playoff opener Jan. 12 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Clady didn't participate in practice this week because of an undisclosed injury, but he hasn't missed a game in his NFL career.

Asked about Clady's availability when the Broncos resume practice next week, coach John Fox said, "He was at practice every day this week, and I don't foresee that changing much next week."

Why don't they come out and tell us about his injury though? I want to believe he'll be ready to play next week, but the secrecy is killing me. And the compulsion to know :)

  2. read comment  177 &  article i noted there  in link below

thow the man picks Peyton as MVP over AP  , its the stupidist article i ever read  on the topic, he even says NFL fans dont care about this award

theres much in it that seems well I i said in the comment , hes nuts the writer

    http://forums.colts.com/index.php?/topic/14101-ap-better-win-the-mvp-and-comeback-player-awards/page-5#entry379206

DP is full of sub-par sports reporters unfortunately, and I guess he is another one. I'm not familiar with his work (looks like he is a Rockies reporter).

For me, there is no debate, and I'll be surprised if Peyton doesn't win it even though I'm hearing a lot of people tell me otherwise. Who goes to a new team and have a 13-3 season after a career-threatening injury while rewriting almost every passing record of the club? And I think playing against him in practice is one the big reasons our defense is so much better this year. He was out of football for 19 months unlike AP. Peyton is grooming his young receivers. He's putting them in running drills. He's changed the Broncos.

All that said, I'd be happy if AP wins it. I want it for Peyton but I accept a different outcome. I am sure another ring would mean so much more to him.

Clady's injury worries me a little. This weird secrecy is strange.

  3. I am in full agreement with that & use Mcgahee sparingly to rest Moreno & in special situations for added power run & blocking
I'd still try not to use McGahee as far as the game is not determined. If having a 3TD lead in the 4th qtr I might consider giving him some time for killing the clock But still I could prefer to let him play all the way to the end rather than in and out. Fumbles generally come when a cold hand subsititutes in for the starter for just one or two plays.

I agree with you guys. What lacks in Knowshon is complimented by Jacob Hester. He is a good short yardage option. Another good in-season signing, BTW, by Elway. (I heard only thing they made him work out for was pass protection.) So McGahee if he is able to return, is a depth in my mind. Denver now has depth in every position it seems.

  4. also Franklin was out 4  rest of first half as hurt & needed eval as tried to tackle Retuner, and Peyton could have been hurt as he got in right throwing arm  into returner  forcing returner of fumble to change direction & to get caught &  tackled By Dressewn or would of Been a td return = 3 strikes 1 of the articles below says

That scared the bejeezus out of me! Ronnie is still in my doghouse for that. When and if McGahee returns after the next game, he is diactivated in my mind at the moment.

  5. its not the d thats an issue , its the fumbles / trurnovers, worse of any team in playoffs I read

    THIS ON FUMBLE ISSUE

once they have the ball, they need to hold on to it.

The Broncos lost 14 fumbles this season. Only six teams lost more fumbles than that, and ...

    • None of the six made the playoffs.

    • Three fired the head coach.

So, this is no small item for a team that has so much going for it as the postseason tournament begins.

They fumbled a LOT earlier in the season and lost disproportionate number. It's now averaging out a little. They've done a lot better recently. Not to say that they shouldn't work on ball security, and I know it's still stressed by John Fox.

  6. BayAreaBronco if we are lucky enough to have Manning playing for another few yrs you will start to ignore all these regular season successes by Manning since he has always been able to do his job starting his days with Colts. Eventually it will be his playoff games and # of superbowl rings that determine how people rank him among all QBs in NFL history.

Yes,and I hope our team is ready as a whole. I'm not familiar with the Colts history, so I wonder: does this Broncos defense look better than any defense Peyton had in Indy? It certainly looks better than the SB winning Broncos defense.

This is my first year of seeing him up-close and I cannot help but marvel at what he's done with our team; he's on our record book in nearly every category in just one year. Simply amazing.

OIn that note Ron Hilman cant adjust to cold weather at aall,

he is not blaming this for fumble, but this was evident in college

    -------------------------

Apparently, the former San Diego State standout did not acclimate to Front Range weather conditions during college road trips to Mountain West schools such as Air Force, Colorado State and Wyoming.

“I’m from California,” Hillman said Wednesday, “so anything below 30 or 40 (degrees) is cold to me.

“So, I’ve been cold for the last two months.

I shouldnt of commented yesterday / today  , now getting many quoted e-mails, may have to stop answering so please understand ,. no more time

Urggh. I shouldn't generalize but us Californians are kind of soft when it comes to weather. Especially people from So Cal. We talk about weather all the time because good weather is really huge.

As my Denver-native spouse says, cold weather takes some getting used to.

  7. Never seen vote but was announced

Vote came early this week I guess but Peyton won Fedex Air player for week 17,

as an aside rookie sensation  Morris won ground,

wow, two 200 yard RB's this week & peterson just missed so basically 3

Deangelo williams averaged 10 a carry , i think he should of won , most yards least carries, but 1 less td

Congrats to Peyton. And yeah, 200-yard used to be a big, big deal. Not anymore, I guess :)

    Check this out:

    http://blog.denverbroncos.com/denverbroncos/inside-the-numbers-week-17/

I didn't realize the Broncos were the only team in the league that didn't allow a single 300-yard passer. Combine that with the QB who passed 300 yards 9 times!

    And this:

The Broncos are one of just three teams in NFL history to win 11 consecutive games by seven or more points. Denver joins the 1942 Chicago Bears (11) and the 2005 Indianapolis Colts (13) as the only teams to accomplish that feat. Manning was the signal caller for two of those three teams.

  8. Wow, what is Clady's injury??? It's very strange. John Fox reported no injuries after the game. I listened to some Denver radio today, and no one mentioned this.

Peyton now has most of the QB records of the Broncos after just one sweeeeet season. I'm glad Elway's goal was to make him the best QB in the Broncos history :) Mission accomplished.

  9. From the Manute Bol meets Muggsy Bogues files.

Wow, what a crazy photo. I love it.

He would have fumbled 4 times in the end zone.
That's not what he's been doing for the Broncos! I take that back he did that(fumble) once I believe. Cheer up man

He is amazing but he does fumble a lot. He's only lost one fortunately for us, but I'm sure he stresses John Fox. I wonder if he is allowed to return in the post season if his ankle is healed. He is scary, both good and bad.

  10. Decker was the prototypical WR Manning likes to work with: Smart, understands situations, never complains even when he's targeted only twice in a game, precise route, never gives up. Believe Manning wanted Colts to draft him but they did not manage to get him and got Collie instead.

I just really want them to add a nice WR in the off season and at some point move Decker to the slot. Stokley just isn't any younger and Manning needs a reliable slot guy. Nobody is more suitable than Decker.

I fully agree with you. Though I'm not sure if he has the hands of Stokley. He (and DT too) had some bone-headed moments earlier in the season, but they have settled down.

    Actually BAB,

The Broncos can win anywhere anytime now...Location doesn't matter now, especially with RB Knowshon Moreno blocking well in pass protection now & hitting the hole with ease. LB Von Miller is a STUD. Also, DE Derek Wolfe is an animal too...Just name the time & place & #18 will settle this Playoff picture final results Championship Glory Road Stuff for good.

I know we can win anywhere but I still don't want to go to Foxboro ;) But yeah, we have a game changer on both sides. Von and Peyton are off the charts, and they give me confidence to win no matter where. Our special team has been good too, though Holiday is feast or famine. And Derek Wolfe. Thanks for noticing him. He has been a real key.

    OVERHEARD:

"I was not expecting him to jump, honestly. I couldn’t react because I was just dealing with a lot of sickness early in the game. I just wasn’t all the way into it, honestly. I was dealing with flu symptoms and everything. I just kind of watched him jump over me. I wasn’t expecting that at all. I thought he was ready to put his head down. I saw him gathering himself, so I was like, ‘There’s no way he’s going to jump.’ Great play by him. It happens.” -- Safety Ed Reed on Moreno leaping over him

Barry, thanks so much for all these links. I will be entertained for a while now.

I have to say I'm so happy for Knowshon. He's been unfairly bashed. I guess that's what you get when you are a 12th pick and unable to play regardless of circumstance. But I'm so impressed that he kept his mouth shut and continued working hard. He looks great especially in light of Brandon Jacobs and Tracy Porter (not that I think they don't have a legit complaint).

  11. just was going to shut computer

    good article

these young broncos dont know what peyton was like Bailey does as been torched by him , Peyton just insists all as a team are learning and says he is still not back, whatever that means, mentally he never left\

Now even what u quote DT saying  "I think he's fully back. ... ( he ends with ... )  ...  He's getting used to the new players, and he's getting stronger and stronger every week."   well if hes getting strionger weekly hes not back

he still overthrows every so often, or under-throws, i think alot of that is he thinking wow they are tall receivers I can throw higher , so does by just bit to much, and then compensates and can under throw by just that much

s safety Ed Reed to slam his helmet on the sidelines in disgust after a 51-yard third quarter bomb from Manning to Decker

    That was a perfect throw,

earlier bit long later bit short when game over, maybe was just trying some things in 3rd qrtr late

now reed wasn't throwing helmut because he was beat, he really wasn't  he was where he was supposed to be for inside protection, at least according to the so called TV analysts, the fault was with the CB who was supposedly to just run and stay to the outside but came inside instead,

Personally Decker was so free to me with that double move it wouldn't of mattered if CB stayed on the outside

NOW DONT WRITE ME BACK< GETTING OFF COMPUTER AND DONT NEED A TON OF RESPONSES IN AM ( LOL ) go ahead if u wish, others do ,

Shoot, I don't meant to overload you but I have to respond! :)

Yes, the throw to Decker was just gorgeous. Decker plays better when he is angry. He and the corner (forgot his name) were jawing each other a lot. It must have been fun for Decker to torch him all day. He's never looked better.

And the Knowshon's rushing TD play, Peyton audibled that. I don't think Knowshon was touched. It was another great moment.

Bailey has been such a great leader for our defense. Now our offense has one, too. I heard Peyton really likes this team about a month and a half go. I think now we are seeing why.

The last time we had a winning streak like this was 1998. You know what happened then ;)

  12. Broncos say they're focused on Sunday, not the playoffs

"Cleveland is a very good team," Decker said. "They beat Cincinnati, they beat Pittsburgh. Those are two teams contending for the playoffs.

"Our focus isn't on the bye. It's to make sure we take care of this week."

Read more:Broncos say they're focused on Sunday, not the playoffs - The Denver Posthttp://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_22209744/broncos-say-theyre-focused-sunday-not-playoffs#ixzz2FLnfAgmR

    Good!

Have you seen this article in USA Today? They are feeling really good:

    Excerpt:

"I think he's fully back. You can see a big difference between OTAs and now," Thomas says of Manning. "He knows what's going on at all times. It's both mental and physical. He's getting used to the new players, and he's getting stronger and stronger every week."

The Broncos offense started slow at M&T Bank Stadium, with Manning being sacked twice, overthrowing Thomas on a potential touchdown. Things picked up in the third quarter, when Manning led consecutive touchdown drives with big plays over the top of Baltimore's limping defense -- prompting Ravens safety Ed Reed to slam his helmet on the sidelines in disgust after a 51-yard third quarter bomb from Manning to Decker. Said Reed, "It felt like Christmas, but not for our side."

Despite the early hiccups for Denver, confidence was sky-high in the Broncos locker room. Cornerback Chris Harris who returned an interception of Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco 98 yards for a touchdown – says Manning addresses the team as a whole almost daily.

"Peyton is a Super Bowl champion," Harris says. "It's different when you have that prestige. When you've won. He's already established. We follow his lead. We just try to make plays for him and give him the ball back."

  13. Manning couls still avoid getting drilled by releasing the ball quickly, which he does not need to do now behind the Broncos OL. No wonder why people kept saying he had lost the arm strength to throw deep when he was a Colt while now he is leading the league with completions of 20+ yds.

Demaryius Thomas is No.2 in the league for 20+ yrds catch (Calvin Johnson is #1). This is the guy who was made by Tebow (according to some of his fans) :)

His development under Peyton this year is staggering. And he just started to scratch the surface. He and Decker would be even bigger threats next year. They haven't peaked yet.

  14. Don't forget that the Bronco's need to win their final two games. The Colts were often sleep walking through the final couple of games. Add a bye week and that's like training camp all over again.

Peyton commented at some point recently that the team enjoyed their off-week this season and came back stronger for it. The implication was that they wouldn't mind having a bye week for the playoffs. They have a couple of key injured players who would likely benefit from it, and as you say, Peyton isn't getting any younger.

Either way, given a choice of risking going flat from a bye week and then hosting probably New England, versus having to deal with someone irritating like the Steelers, and THEN playing AT New England, I'll take my chances with the former.

And I don't think they'll forget. That's the beauty of this team. They somehow seem to have a different mentality. They are all so about business and I couldn't be happier.

I cannot believe the Niners pulled it off last night. I would really like a rematch against NE and/or Houston. They did not seen this team earlier. And it's huge if we don't have to go to Foxboro.

  15. I was just glad it was on in the background , they often reference a  sports person, Tiger alot in the past

Drank a ton of coffe, lied down in bed to watch pats. 49,r game , blasted true audiophile  surround system that can play at intense ear hurting levels with quality sound,   especially  with 2 massive subwoofers , & system completely balanced and all adjustements for sound applied to correct  all  emitted sounds  etc taking into account all room furniture & acoustics  even though its in  in my bedroom ( i fall off coach reaching for remote so no longer use living t room one and got this,  ,  as was a told people moved out behind me in next apartment and none above & i am last of 4 in building so was told to use opportunity to have fun and play l;oud

anyway I lied down after the coffe, turned up quite loud, & next thing i knew was 3 am & still blasting away but missed entire game, I hate my meds, now u know why i say Drs are amazed i evcen can awake in am and why need to much am coffe

That stinks. Fighting to stay awake is one of the most unpleasant things to do. And you missed a really fun game, too. I was screaming at TV last night :)

  16. actually stats incorrect in my Mile g high report link ( strange as is denver blog  )   for passing on each  QB as had   more yards and thus total yards was more  too , rest  was correct

FULL STATS & confirmed with other sites

    POST GAME COMMENTS BY PEYTON

peyton says he still needs to recover, imagine if gets more strength in off season conditioning and improves more

also says reciver chemistry will get better as its not like being on a team with them for 6 to 7 years & even if dont throw to them much liker DT today , opposing team needs to be weary of him and Defense him so still he helps run game by presence ( & thus team offense in general I say )

    http://www.denverbroncos.com/multimedia/videos/Broncos-at-Ravens-Manning/b59eca60-aaf7-4fff-a3e2-fcd63e7e8d32

its like 1 game go to DT, then next to Decker, teams get confused who to doubdle that game in my opinion

seems like he always picks one to go to more ppending coverage

It's funny how some people were asking what's wrong with Decker after the last game as if he was in Peyton's doghouse. Well, run great routes and you get the ball! Decker was really very crisp yesterday.  So good to see. And to think that the offense has not peaked yet, it's scary. Peyton is definitely not about numbers. I sometimes wish he was ;)

And Chris Harris shutting down Anquan Boldin. Zero catch. I'm still smiling this morning.

BTY, they did something to this site. I was not able to post earlier this morning.

  17. take a look at the stats & time of possesion & Baltimore 3rd down conversions  , that clock management & great defensive playing, something in first 3 games couldnt do, stopping 3rd down conversions 1 for 11, go Caldwell

    http://www.milehighreport.com/2012/12/16/3773122/final-denver-broncos-34-baltimore-ravens-17

Thanks for all your game report. A great win. The first time we get it done in Baltimore!

Our defense is stout. And I'm glad to see our running game going. That was one of the main question marks remaining. I cannot believe how fast they got here. The Broncos is a force to be reckoned with no matter where we play.

I guess we've see the last of Tracy Porter. Doesn't matter. Chris Harris is far better.
