The "Real" Behind the Scenes Story of Irsay/Manning/Gruden.
Pretty sure that was on the E! channel a couple weeks back..
-
In a video game, absolutely.
In real life, no chance.
-
Can we get some of that Defense stuff one day?

I said slowly...Luckily we have Luck to save us...We need Pagano gone and to reboot at this point..Plenty of upgrades out there. ..Hell Id take Les Miles if we have a good OC..
At this point I'd also be done with a no name our retread coach. How much worse could it get? No playoffs?? We're already doing that...
-
You gotta send him packing now Jim.
You basically are acknowledging Pagano isn't getting it done. Keeping him is awkward after basically saying I tried to replace you, but I'm gonna stick with you now that I couldn't replace you....Send him packing

How many of the players have you talked with??
As many as you.

I'm ok with anything that gets Grigs out of town. I don't care about what it takes. It ain't my money.

He isn't a lame duck coach. Do you understand what a lame duck coach is?
Pagano has 2 years left on his contract
Yeah I do understand what lame duck is dad.
I mean having no confidence from his constituents(players). Players aren't respecting a guy the owner is actively looking to replace.
-
Pagano is as lame duck as you can get now.
He knows his boss was looking to replace him, but couldn't get his guy.
Not sure how Jim keeps him around now honestly. You basically are saying I'm settling for you Chuck..lol

Sadly sports owners care only about the money. I totally get it, but fans get shafted when they become part of the team as a fan.
Although they moved, it's still in the same state a few hours away I guess if you still wanted to follow them. I get LA isn't SD, but for the fans who won't be able to let go it's still doable to be a fan of the Chargers. Just don't say the city name..
Many older Colts fans have been through this. I'd root for them as the Guam Colts.

I've been watching Boulware for a while now and I can't help but think "Damn, he'd be such a Grigson pick". I can absolutely see us taking him in the 4th. Grigson seems to love vocal leaders, slow and not rangy physical run stuffers for linebackers. For what it's worth Boulware had some amazing plays yesterday and the best thing is he was diagnosing plays before they happened and he was instructing teammates before the snap to adjust to what he was seeing.
I couldn't find a recent video but here you go:
Totally agree. The broadcast would scream if he 'kind of' made a play.
He's ok for a college player, but would have probably .5% to make it as a pro, better then the 0% shot I have, but they were hyping this guy up like he was Ray Lewis in his prime.
But I thought to myself honestly...Grigson better not want this kid..

The problem with this logic is that everyone is going to add playmakers in the division. All of the others teams in the division are getting a year of development for their young players. I don't know their cap space, but the Titans have 6 picks in the top 75, the Jags have the 3rd pick I think, and the Texans, while having a lower pick, still have all their picks. While we are improving, so are they. We have to choose our players correctly, and have them miss, which is hard to do when they have an advantage with higher picks and more picks.
Agreed.
Folks were also saying 10-6 or better guaranteed because we have Luck back last year.
I wouldn't guarantee a division title.

Maybe. But mark my words.
Without Gronkowski...the Pats are beatable.....
I hope so man. They're like the boogyman to me. I won't believe they're dead until they're waking off the field heads down.
-
I remember him being seen as a potential good OLB when coming out of school.
Worth bringing in?

I hope you overspends if he has to on a couple big time guys...Kinda like Miami did signing Suh...Kind of how it is now with the cap being much higher..I'd rather overspend on a couple true difference makers than overspend on 5 guys that are mid level or your taking a chance on potential....We get 2 impact guys in positions of need on defense and then hit on 2 or 3 draft picks on that side as well..We should realistically be able to compete for a Super Bowl if the coach doesn't hold us back..
Definitely agree with you on going for an impact fa (if they work out is a different conversation).
I think they have to go more of the 'all in' route so as to not completely fall apart on D again.

Grigson has botched free agency so far and last year didn't attempt it at all. With the cap space and a reasonably high draft pick he has no choice other than to go all out to save his job if he stays this season.
That could go really well or crash and burn..lol
He may do great knowing he's on the hot seat or panic and reach on some FA's and we're here watching the playoffs again.

Don't lie, of course you or anyone on here would if given the title of Colts GM. I would love to sign the FA's I wanted, extend and cut who I wanted, trade and draft who I wanted. You kidding? We all would love to have that control for our favorite team and get paid for it! Absolutely!
Then I'd have to read all you guys calling me trash and wanting me to get fired...

We already took the supposed steps..Why are we starting over again?
That's the million dollar question honestly. Someone botched the rebuild, but not sure if it was Grigs or Jim honestly. For all we know he could have told Grigs we need to win now, bring in whoever is out there. Now he's cutting them slack and doing it the old fashioned way by developing and drafting.
It's not the cool thing to mention here, but we absolutely botched the first half of Lucks career in terms of building a competitive team around him.

Probably..but I sure would like a chance with Andrew Luck healthy and Frank Gore running well.
NE without Gronkowski are beatable
I can't see it honestly...the black unicorn would destroy us (is he hurt or playing?)...Edelman would be his usual annoying self.
Our D wouldn't be able to stop them even if luck put up 35 I'd bet.
-
Our D is a gut job sadly. I know I wouldn't want the job of rebuilding it in one offseason.
Need ILB, future cb1 with Vontae going into fa after next year, CB2, Safety, olb, dline....basically a majority of the D...that'd be tough for any GM to pull off.
-
I hate that Indy has never been more of a defensive team though.
I'm not saying O or D is better, but I wish we'd go away from finesse type ball.

The only reason I'm upset is because we' would have beaten Oakland in Indianapolis and we'd be heading to New England to take on the pats without Rob Gronkowski
That would have been great to win a playoff game, but I'd bet Monday wouldn't be too fun in this forum.
They'd roast us.
-
No idea.
I don't think anyone can say absolutely.
For whatever reason only known to Jim, he likes them running things.
Just a guess, but I'd bet the majority of owners would have fired them last Monday.
-
Wouldn't want ne to play anyone who has a healthy qb. Gotta make sure they get to SB 51..
Andrew Luck recovering from surgery

Posted
He's going to be shot in a few years.
Shoulder surgery for someone who uses there shoulder hundreds of times a year isn't a small deal in my eyes.
Gonna be sad in a few years when we look back at how this regime ruined a good QB, they don't come around often.
