I equate one of your points to dumping money into a car that keeps breaking down.

At some point you just cut your losses and buy a new car, regardless of how much you like it or want it to work properly. It just isn't worth hanging on to.

    We need a new car.

Keeping him because of a fear that the next guy might be worse is dumb. People leave jobs and are replaced all the time if they're not right. If the next guy stinks, send him packing as well.

Being 'comfortable' with him gets the Colts nowhere and that's who I'm rooting for.

Sometimes the gameplan in some games make us believe it's a good defense but somehow with this team every week they tend to not do what works and right forgot about Davis heading into his last year thought he still had two at least but I think he should play more like Deion sanders and not tackle because with every saving tackle or big hit he makes he either hurts his ankle or gets a concussion

They'll flash once in a while on D definitely, but sadly they seem to be getting worse as well. We seemed a little stouter against the run the past couple seasons and now we've gone back down into the mid 20's on run D so we can't even hang our hat on that anymore.

I believe Davis is being paid like a #1 so isn't that bad if we brought in another #1 cb to waste money on? And I agree on still drafting for online well I'd probably get one in FA Becuase this draft isn't good for guards I think

Vontae is actually going into the final year of his deal so sadly CB will be a need soon. I also didn't mean making him a #2 because he stinks or anything, but he's definitely getting up there in miles if you know what I mean. Getting a true #1CB in the draft and moving him would actually be great. No more Toler or Robinson type guys being opposite VD. Plus we'd actually be able to cover a little longer in the hopes of getting after the QB. It would actually become a strength position for us on D. We currently have no strong spots on D.

As much as I'd love to say they're close, they're really not. We have holes all over the place.

  4. This is probably a 5 paragraph answer, but we need a lot.

No pass rush and guys like Langford, Jones need to be replaced.

LB core needs an ALMOST complete overhaul, we have some solid depth guys. Our starters are depth guys on a regular team.

Secondary should find a new #1 in a perfect world. Vontae can't be that guy simply because of mounting injuries and age. We'd be looking sweet if a solid #1 CB could somehow be brought in and Vontae became our 2. Our current group of other guys could fill the slot and UDFA'S for depth.

Secondary needs an Adams replacement and another guy for when Geathers misses time next year. IMO he's going to be a guy who will always miss time.

Also Guard might be a need depending on how Mewhort heals up. We still aren't a consistent/good line. Improved yes, but I wouldn't say 'problem solved' there.

Minus a handful of spots, you can pick positions out of a hat and probably be right.

The Colts didn't lose the game because we didn't convert on the fake field goal.

There's no automatic formula on when to run the fake field goal.    It was early in the game and we had plenty of time to be competitive and win the game.       We didn't.

Since the dawn of time fans have made this argument.

Trick play that doesn't work = bad.

Trick play that works = good.

It's a little more complex than that.

I'm fine with the play.      We didn't lose the game because of it.

You have to take the points on the road in a must win game. Even if it didn't cost us the game it was a bad move by the coach.

I'd bet MOST coaches would have taken the 3. Our guy tries to reinvent the world sometimes. Bust that play out another time. Make sure you grab an early lead.

Sadly, as I watch this Texans game, and knowing Mariota is likely done, someone from this division HAS to make the playoffs.  Too bad they couldn't forfeit their playoff spot and whomever matches up with whomever wins this sorry division will essentially get a first round "bye".  Pathetic.

Agreed. I wrote something similar in another thread. The AFC playoffs are pathetic this season.

Obviously anything can happen, but who really looks like they'll give NE a fight for the conference crown?

    The South....pffft

Everyone thinks I hate this team I actually love it I just don't see us getting anywhere with those 2 so I beg and plead for a change of direction so we can get our * to the Super Bowl where we belong

You're one of the better posters man. Nothing wrong saying they are terrible when they have proven many times they are. Being realistic isn't being a bad fan.

We should be way better then we are and I agree keeping these two because it could get us two other dummies isn't a reason to hold on to them. Move on if they don't work, teams do it all the time. Continuity doesn't mean Jack if its bad continuity.

Not to open pandoras box, but they've botched a lot of things. Why couldn't they make Freeney work, he still had game regardless of he couldn't cover figure it out he left and played well , why let Bethea leave and fill in with Zibikowski, why not hold onto Saturday for one year for Lucks early development? Samson Satele, Mcglynn?? Bad moves...I'm sorry but I can point to many things they've botched from the transition to Luck, draft, dumb plays....

    Sorry I can keep going...

Question is, what do you do if you get a top 10? Trade back and get extra picks? Or is there someone we need that's worthy of a top 10-15?

As someone who knows nothing about college players. I don't think it'd be the end of the world to drop back a little (5 spots) if you can get an extra 2nd or 3rd or whatnot.

Totally depends I guess if there's first round pass rush in this draft.

It does suck. We are wasting his prime years. He deserves better than this coach and GM

That's why I'm on the clean house bandwagon. I wish they were the right guys, but losing teams usually have no QB so you kind of can't blame them.

We have the most important piece and still stuck to put it bluntly. Something is definitely wrong here.

I agree that the deck is stacked against him but he has a habit of putting himself and the team in bad spots, even when the line and defense are playing well.

Totally true man. That TY pick was dreadful.

Someone in the game thread mentioned it was very Eli Manning like...That was a perfect description.

It just sucks honestly that he can't have an ugly game like a guy like Ozweiler (sp?) had many times this year and have is win.

If he ended his season like Oz did with 14td and 16 picks we'd be 4-12 guaranteed, yet hou managed a winning record with that bum.

I don't expect him to be flawless. I expect him to stop being stupid. He puts us in horrible positions a good amount of times. This fan base is the biggest excuse makers around. Ppl never want to fault Luck for his screw ups. It's always the OL, WR, or the Coordinators. I'm not one of those blind followers. I don't expect him to be Peyton. Peyton has his flaws too. Like being a Major choker in the playoffs. It's okay to call out Luck. He's not above criticism and I'm sure he wouldn't cry about it like some of the crybabies on this board

I'll definitely call out dumb play, but he really has no room for error.

This team won't win if he's off even a little the majority of times.

People expect him to be Peyton and he's not. Andrew is damn Good but Peyton is arguably the GOAT. Hard to top him. We need to fix our Defense, that is my main worry.

He's definitely being pushed in that direction unfortunately through no fault of his own. Totally my opinion, but I think he's pressing to score every possession which causes some boneheaded plays along with the organization stressing to him he shouldn't run to often and get himself hurt.

He hasn't run much at all this year it seems, I could be wrong, compared to his first few years.

Sadly he's definitely covering up for bad coaching, scheming and bad players around him.

After 5 years of building the monster, we are no closer to a 1 or 2 seed than when we started.  No one expected Luck to be another Manning but man he is trailing pretty far behind especially in taking control of the offense.

Exactly. Doormat teams from just a couple of years ago like Oak and Tenn have surpassed us when we got the best qb in the draft in years along with having several years of huge $$$ to throw around and yet we're still stuck in rebuild mode.

Also how do we finish essentially with the same record as last year WITH LUCK.

Can't blame injuries because #12 is the biggest injury you can't afford and he's been here all year.
