It wouldn't surprise me. It's kind of why I don't really put much stock into the "players love to play for him" stuff.

My favorite teachers in school were the most friendly, lenient, and easiest to pass, no matter if they were actually doing a good job or not.

Your last paragraph is totally true. I loved the professors that passed you as long as you showed up, but the classes I ACTUALLY LEARNED were the professors I was afraid of that demanded you come prepared and work. Showing up and 'trying' didn't help you pass.

  2. 8-8 with a top flight QB tells me that as well.

Just from a fan watching from the outside, our coaching staff totally seems to have that high school coaching vibe.

(Lose by 21)'Good job guys we'll get em next week'.

(Comeback from 21 down to lose by 3)'Great job continuing to fight, we would have won if there was more time'.

(Straight blown out) 'Just one of those days guys'.

Morrison is just a guy.  A backup/special teams guy.

Green was pretty horrible.  He has upside,  it thus far he looks like Laron Landry.

i agree, Jackson has some upside, not sure how much, but some at least.

I definitely think some folks here think a starter means good. Many of the younger guys wouldn't be starting on a quality D. They were essentially NEEDED to play, not through a grueling competition.

I agree 100% with you on Grigs putting together a D. His idea of a pass rush was an ancient Mathis and washed up Cole this season. Guys like Werner and Newsome were terrible picks.

I can't see how he gets the benefit of the doubt having almost zero success on D. Sure you can pick a guy here or there, but 5 years in and the D needs an overhaul still.

If only he could beat the Patriots and Steelers..

Honestly, I can't wait until Ben and Brady are gone. Looks like they're bleeding into the Luck years...go away, you definitely screwed up enough potential Colts victories over the years.

Sorry, had to rant when I saw those team names.

Wow 6 TDs is garbage for Allen given that he had like 3 against the Jets. You'd expect more for a guy that's supposed to be a red zone threat. They need to trade him for whatever they can and role with Doyle and Swoope. Doyle has earned the right to a new contract and to be our number 1 TE. It wouldn't make any sense to have your number 3 TE making more than your number 1 TE. I'd take a 5th for Allen even.

Allen definitely hasn't been the same guy since the hip injury. He's been a disappointment for sure.

  6. The part that sucks is we're usually there so the playoff start is exciting.

I couldn't care less honestly and will only watch if I'm not doing anything when they're on. No way I'm making 'plans' to watch if my team isn't in it. I'll watch if it happens to be on.

Afc tournament got shafted with Tenn/oak losing there qbs.

I'd see that as an encouraging development.  I'm sure the new GM will want to hire his own coach so it would make sense to let him fire Pagano if he so chooses.

Let the new guy get his hands dirty..Lol

It only takes a certain mindset to set things right for a team. If we can find that coach/general manager, and I know that's a big if, then the colts are closer than everyone wants to believe. We have seen this exact team make the AFCCG. If the talent was so poor then that wouldn't be possible. I would say right now, the failings have been 80% coaching staff and 20% players. A true leader brings out the best in his followers in all aspects of life, and everyone knows how few and far between real leaders are.

I think folks aren't thinking about chemistry though. There's going to be a ton of new faces on this team and it rarely just 'clicks'.

    I don't think they're close honestly.

Who replaces old guys like DQ, Adams, Gore? Where's the pass rush? Where's CB#2?

I can keep going, but you get the idea. I honestly just don't see it as close. It also depends how u define close? 2 or 3 years away?? Yes I'd agree, next year? No way.

  9. Won't believe any of these rumors until we hear it straight from the horse's mouth so to say.

So much nonsense to sift through at this time of year. Just like last year how they were both DEFINITELY gone according to all the insiders.

These guys just make things up.

We are very far from being a contender with this staff. A different staff and you maybe right on!

I'd like to think so, but honestly even though we're coached terribly we have a ton of holes all over the field.

I'd love to be on board the 'we're close' train, but I don't think we're very close.
