Yes very important!  If they had ditched the Colts name, logo and uniform when they moved to Indy I'd probably be a Ravens or  expansion Baltimore Colts fan by now.  lol

If they ditched the shoe and Colts name I'd then become a casual football fan.

Basically watch whatever's on and root for no one.

But as long as they're the Colts with the shoe I'm good, anything else I'm out as an nfl fan. I'd then be a 'football' fan with no allegiance.

He was never bad, I just wanted someone who would be better in coverage. We didn't really get that until Mike Adams came along.

I honestly think he was beat up from years of having to tackle (the years where our inside D lines were soft) more then a lot of S's out there. He definitely slowed down, but I think an argument could be made he could have stayed a bit longer. But IIRC he got paid nicely by sf so he moved on.

Adams did have a great first year with us.

  3. Right now our worst case scenario isn't THAT bad. 6 games potentially just to make sure we have him for the next 10 seasons I'm ok with. Or he might need one or two games off to start the year and no PUP so in reality we don't know anything, but at least we haven't been hearing terrible rumors about his shoulder.

If we start hearing career ending or he hasn't thrown a ping pong ball since last year...then it's ok to totally freak out.

Every September since I was about 7 or 8 the air seems crisper and the mood seems brighter for me, sans the end of Summer Vacation as a kid of course, and this all has to do with football.  I have been a Colts fan for so many years that I forget the actual number, lol!

Every year I am pumped for my Colts and will watch, listen and read as much on them as I can digest.  Because they are my team and if they are terrible, I root for those who hopefully mold the future.  If they are good, I root for the ultimate prize.  I will always follow them despite injuries or lack of talent as I have hope that they will either improve in the future, or shock the crap out of the football world.  Hope keeps us going....

Get well soon Andrew and time for the rest of the team to step up, no excuses....Go Colts!

Exactly my feelings as well. Even those seasons where you're sure we're not winning it, a smile comes out that first September where the shoe helmet is on the field.

I was a bit irritated that we couldn't get a deal done for him. But, we're onto something hopefully better in Hooker and Geathers.

They definitely got rid of him a year or two early. Bethea wasn't that bad towards the end. He often had to crash down to make a tackle at the end because we couldn't stop anything.

  6. Best win ever 06 afccg.

Worst ones ever: SB loss, Pitt playoff loss.

Honorable mention of greats Tampa MNF, Miami with having the ball only 15 minutes, Denver snow game, Denver beatdown at RCA in PO's.

You have to evaluate the player based on what he can do on the field, not where he was drafted. If you drafted a guy thinking he'd be a star contributor, but he winds up being a role player, you don't have to hang his draft slot over his head for the rest of his career. It does no good. If Dorsett winds up being a quality #3 receiver, that's not what you hoped for when you drafted him, but you don't cut him just because he didn't live up to his draft slot.

At a certain point, you have to move on from the past and evaluate honestly.

Edit: This is why Alex Smith is a long time starter and makes $17m/year, even though he didn't live up to his draft slot and has been far surpassed by Aaron Rodgers.

So true, especially that last part. Smith hasn't been Peyton #1 pick good, but he became a solid starting nfl qb regardless of where he was drafted.

Same as folks complaining about Kelly's value as a C in the first round. Who cares, at least the pick is producing SOMETHING. The league is littered with first rd busts.

  8. It's a job hazard unfortunately. You could be screwed up for life. Sadly, I equate it to something like heavy industry type jobs. You know something bad can happen during or after you stop working.

I do feel for these guys because you can adapt to having a bum knee or back as you get older, must be so tough to not be able to 'function' properly in life so to say.

  9. They hate because...

Luck has been beat up since he's been in the league (injury wise). Taken big hits/missed some games in his young career.

Regardless of if you blame him for holding it to long to extend plays or blame the OL.

He has small flaws. BUT, when he's on he's fire.

I feel given a slightly better oline he will be even better. I remember an interview where Peyton said Luck has a better IQ then he had.

They hate Luck (sometimes) because they see Luck absolutely can be a different version QB that provides Peyton like results. Media is pushing, just like they did to Peyton himself. Luck will be the Brady/Manning of this generation.

Peyton wasn't Peyton in year 5.

Apologies for tldr, I'm just amped football is back.

  10. 5'11" and 215, he's definitely got nice size as opposed to those mosquito type backs. I'm hoping some nfl coaching and training can get us a featured RB.

I can have hope. It's July.

  11. 3 Crappiest for me.

Foxboro-Went to both afccg losses. (All class:().

    Baltimore.

And I was shocked Buffalo of all places had some real aggressive fans I remember. They were worse then any jet/Giants vs Colts game I've ever been to.
