  1. Give the oline props? What for, they still struggled at the same positions they struggled with last week. Olsen was no better at RG than McGlynn (why don't they try Tepper there, he came in and dominated the LG position except one play where he tripped over the center's feet why pulling.)

Justice still looks slow footed but strong.

Link - How that guy is still in an NFL uniform is beyond me. Let alone how he is still considered 2nd string. I've have watched this guy over and over, I figure I must be missing something because coaches keep putting him in the game but I have yet to see one area where Link has NFL level talent.... strength, nope, footwork, lousy, seems to understand defensive stunts and twists, negative, hand placement, are you kidding me, leg strength as a run blocker... almost but not quite. The only thing I can figure is he's dating one or Irsay's daughters.

Satalle still looked good, even better than last week. And outside of the false start AC played a near flawless game.

George Foster played back-up LT and looked very good.

But just like last week, that right side is very worrisome. Give Tepper a shot at RG or RT.

Really? I, for one, thought Hayworth Hicks would be starting at LG this season. He clearly has all the tools

  2. No but they do have a running back that can slow down our pass rush by just running the ball. I would love it if we could beat the Bears but I still think it's unlikely that we do but I would agree we have shot which is all you can really ask for.

Agreed, we really have nothing to lose in that game.

  3. Of course we pay attention, but of the 2 million people living here, not all are football fans. I'm personally not afraid of Manning. The guy is great to watch, even if he does have a pretty good record against my team. For the record, the last time I checked, the only person who owns the Texans is named Bob McNair. Unless Manning is dipping into the business side of the NFL now?

    lol.....yeah, 16-2 is "pretty good"

  4. I think he was referring to your belief that the entire city is afraid of Peyton Manning, not how badly he "owns" the Texans.

If what I said "couldn't be further from the truth" then Texan fans really must not pay very close attention to how incompetent they are against him & must really be fond of losing!

I don't think a single player has ever owned a franchise more, in any sport, than Peyton Manning owns the Houston Texans. I mean, look at those numbers, for Christ's sake!

  5. LOL that couldn't be further from the truth. But think what you like.

    lol.....look at you being silly

Peyton Manning career numbers vs the Houston Texans:

    16-2 Record

    5122 Yards

    42 TD Passes (9 Int)

    67% Completion %

    105.2 QB Rating

Yeah, he doesn't own the Houston Texans. Usain Bolt isn't fast, either

  6. Wouldn't it be ironic if the Colts and Texans split their games, both end up at 9-7, and (one of the) tie breakers giving the Colts the AFC South championship is the Manning- led Broncos beating the Texans in week 3?

That would fit right along with the how badly Manning has owned the Houston Texans over his career. The entire city of Houston is scared :edit: of Peyton Manning.....it's really quite pathetic.

  7. Did anyone else see this on NFL AM on nfl network this morning?

They mainly talked about "arm strength" being the reason.

Many just don't think Manning will last the season I guess.

Also, "better" is a relative term.

Luck only needs to have a "good" season, while Manning is expected to lead the broncos to the Super bowl.

I think It is hilarious to compare them at this point, but I guess its been a slow news day.

    haha

Luck no doubt will have a better season than Peyton Manning.

Alot of people seem to forget/don't want to admit that Manning is A) on the wrong side of his 30's, B) coming off of 4 neck surgeries and C) hasn't played a real NFL game since January of 2011.

People act as if though he will just pick up right where he left off 19 months ago. It ain't gonna happen.

  8. Good point, Andrews is 100% sure he will make a full recovery. And then the short, fat guys knee blows out again. So then... our general knowledge about knees and football makes us look wiser than...

Maybe you should save this comment if/when "short, fat guys knee blows out again"

As of right now, Andrews is right and you are wrong.

  9. I like Hicks but he hasnt seemed to catch the coaches eye and I also feel like he didnt do anything spectacular to me once the lights were on yesterday, he didnt do anything to get cut in my opinion and played alright

Yeah, he hasn't caught the coaches eye for the same reason that he didn't catch the eye of every GM in the NFL, all of whom passed on him in every round of the draft : he lacks the requisite combination of skills to play in the NFL.

  10. You completely missed the point of my post, I never said he would be fine, I am just saying it will take time for him to get back into football shape and back to full strength with no training camp for him, no practices, and no chemistry developed with the D Line, When Chapman finally returns I dont expect him to come right in and dominate, it would be great but first he needs to beat out Antonio Johnson, Mckinney and Anunoby all of which have gotten off to a good start at that position, Chapman has a long road ahead of him from the looks of it, if at full strength and getting back into game shape and developing chemistry with the rest of the D Line then he can do it, But I dont think he will just be thrown right out their based on potential when others that I have mentioned will have had 6 games on him of showing what they can do.

No, it is YOU who completely missed the point of MY post.

You said, and I quote: "his (Chapman's) weight combined with his injury scares me as a fan."

Your above quote is the only thing I commented on.

To reitterate, my response is that one of the top orthopedic surgeons on earth, a man who has 1000x more knowledge on the subject than everyone on this message board combined, has never so much as mentioned that Chapmans weight nor this injury will at all impact his long term ability to play NFL football. In fact, he's gone on record to say the opposite: that Chapman will make a full recovery.

So, again, my money is on James Andrews' viewpoint being the correct one as opposed to yours.

  11. We rushed Ijalana back (even though he "cleared" medical) and he ended up on IR with the same knee giving out. I believe anything less than 12 months following an ACL, particularly with the truly large people on offensive and defensive line, is pushing the envelope on their rehabilitation. I actually hope they IR Chapman and he has the opportunity to go through a full training camp after fully rehabbing his knee.

Although that doesn't necessarily mean Ijalana reinjured his knee because he was rushed back.

That being said, I agree with you in that I hope they are EXTREMELY cautious with Chapman, and I too would be fine if he was IR'd.

  12. My guess is he will be back week 6 BUT with that said that does not necessarily mean he will be affective or even starting at that point for a couple reasons

    1.No Training Camp

    2.No Pre Season

3.We have only been through week 1 of the pre season but Mookie and Mckinney both did exceptionally well

    4.Anunoby did well

5.How much strength will he have in that knee

Chapman was a pretty good player at Alabama but his weight combined with his injury scares me as a fan.

Dr James Andrews, probably the premier orthopedic surgeon in this country, says he'll be fine, so i'll take his opinion over that of any fan.

  13. Far from it.

How does your logic explain Kurt Warner?

If the talent is always there..

Why did the Packers cut him?

That's pretty easy question: because they misevaluated. Quite obviously. Misevaluations happen by all the time, by every team, every season. Unless your telling me he didn't become "talented" until 1998. So, it's the Packers fault that they didn't identify and develop that talent, cause the physical tools were there, like they are for anyone at that stage.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around your statement that talent leads to production, yet Jeff George, who went on the throw for 27000 yards and 154 touchdowns, WASN'T talented in 1991 with a 73.8 qb rating, and yet Peyton Manning WAS talented in 1998 with a 71.2 qb rating.
