It is eye opening! One of the most beautiful in the entire world! Seriously! You should do it in your lifetime! Preferrably with someone you love! The views are amazing! The Califoria coast is what they make postcards out of!
But that's not the 8 hour drive. This is along the coast is highway 1. That drive is more like 12-15 hours! Pretty, and dramatic, but slooooow!
Next is highway 101, which is roughly 5-10 miles inland from the ocean. That drive is roughly 8-10 hours.
But the trip I take is up the middle of the state. It's roughly 6-8 hours depending on stops. And about 3 hours of that trip is through one of the ugly parts of the state. Not quite desert, but lots of dirt and tumbleweeds. Almost no civilization. The trade-off is..... it's much faster. The downside, it's boring. This is the one I typically take for speed and convenience. I listen to my sirrius XM radio for entertainment all the way!.
California is an amazing place! If you ever come West, let me know and I'll make sure you see all the things you should see, and avoid all the things you should probably avoid!
thanks, you can bet i will. great insight!!

Believe me.... I’d love to be able to go spy on them! If I could I’d do it all the time.
But I’m afraid Stanford is about an 8 hour trip north of me. A long, not very fun drive. Oh well.....
i heard that most trips in California are not very fun. but i would think that driving the one road that runs right along the ocean (PCH) above LA area would be eye-opening.

Hope you’re right... but if you look in this thread you’ll see a bunch of us discussed this idea. And while it may be true, we’re not sure if it’s even legal? It’s the off-season and what a team can do with players is severely limited.
This really isn’t a big deal to me.... I was mostly thinking out loud....
Oh that's right, I bet he can't help them since this is their off time. anything they do on their own might be on their own tabs.... that could add up

I would hope and expect Luck to be paying most of the costs for his teammates.
Air faire. Rental car. Hotel.
Seems only fair to me.
And I’d expect next week to be in Florida. And the week after leads into the start of camp, I’d think Luck would work with the guys in Indy.
I'm sure Irsay pays for it all, probably hauls them there in the Gulfstream

Gotta like the work ethic. Can't wait to see Cain in action, which he is going to see a lot of in pre-season. Countin' the days.......

is the new surface still called "field-turf" with the little black rubber tire pellets? i would assume so , but field technology has probably advanced a bunch since they invented that. couldn't get the OP's link up there to work.

Call me the odd one, but I still love that logo at midfield. The only thing I could think of replacing it with - reluctantly - would be the bucking colt (which I find it strange that there is no emoji for?).
The type of logo is good, it's just the drawing design of it that is less than expected, imo. but i agree, the bucking colt would be a satisfactory option.

Hopefully they'll take that 80's helmet logo with it.
lol, i always thought it looked like something you'd put on a cake but not on an NFL field.

I'd still look to sign Breeland if he can get over this foot infection/injury.
he may have other things on his mind.

Blind Comment: I'm not going to look at the OP's first post and guess that Harrison said something negative about the Colts. If I'm wrong, I will eat my crow and apologize. He takes shots when he can. I think he wants the Colts to do bad, he always goes at it with Tony Dungy when conversation involves Colts.

hart could have been stunning to watch, instead the ACL ended any hope of that (or whatever severe career threatening injury it was...pretty sure though it was an acl).....this guy had star written all over him.

Freeney going out killed the team....he was absolutely destroying them that first half.
Freeney went into that game with a bad ankle (high ankle)....the most devastating news we could have had going into the Super Bowl. It even hurt more than hearing "Bob Sanders is injured again" in so many of those mid 2000's games. Freeney was a small truck that had spinning axles. But give him credit for gutting out a few hobbled Super Bowl quarters.

I love the versatility of our linemen. All have experience in other positions. And the depth is also very nice. I'm more hopeful about this group than I have been in a very long time.
i love your enthusiasm and hopefulness. glass half full is needed right now. thx

I don't share your concern about AC. He has been consistently above average. And having Nelson next to him improves him even more. I think Smith and Mewhort will be the right side, I just don't know who gets what role. I'm leaning more towards Smith as tackle
we need guards to be able to get out and down the line. Vunevich whiffed last year on being able to do that (and others)..gotta have guys who can

only hole I'm seeing is RT. 4 out of 5 is a damn good line in my eyes. and we have starter quality players available for the RT position
I worry about Castonzo & Haeg (& Mewhort staying healthly), but i think your analysis of 4 of 5 is close for sure. I'm crossing my fingers that those two are going to be above average for 2018-2019.

LG56Nelson, Quenton 18/164Glowinski, Mark W/Sea67Vujnovich, Jeremy SF16
C78Kelly, Ryan 16/169Bond, Deyshawn CF17

Don’t let him get to Arizona
i have a feeling they'll shove more money in his face in Arizona than Ballard is willing to part with (to keep the locker room stable). Ballard may also be hesistent due to Breeland being a known weed smoker.

i'd say he's mean & fast enough to play tackle, at least for the coming year (if it's absolutely necessary), then we can move him back to his natural position when we draft a tackle in the 1st round next year (top 10 pick). Center? Uh no. God knows we need Castanzo to hit for the cycle this coming season, jeepers man, let's keep Andrews bobble-head from moving.

So on this magical day when he DOES throw a football, will it be televised? Will Jim Gray be there? I need to know because I'm going to invite friends over, but first I've got to go out and get party favors, a keg or two, chips and some more Orville Redenbacher popcorn.

I wonder if he is still throwing the smaller footballs or where he stands on easing into throwing regularly.
he's eating smaller footballs now. i think he's throwing a real football in his football field sized basement at home. No reporters, no Gregg Doyel, no harassment there. Oh, and no Jim Irsay.

"Couldn't absorb the playbook", "Conduct detrimental to the team, etc."
HOWEVER:
McCain is also learning what it takes to be a professional. In May, he caused a dust-up by saying the league should strip the New England Patriots of their Super Bowl championship due to their alleged involvement in a ball-deflation scheme.

Assuming Luck is ready to go week one...

In our own division alone, we are going to face heller defenses. I'd say the line will play mediocre until it is completely fortified, it could be brutal for our QB's at times.
