  1. Look, if he gave up on a play, it will be a big wart in the film room and no player wants to look like a slouch on film on the field of play in front of your peers.  If it truly happened, I'm sure he or someone who is responsible for him, will make sure it doesn't again.  He'll be (and already was) disgusted at himself for the drops alone.

He's a good player no doubt.  But he came in with the reputation of being a playmaker and with a reputation for getting interceptions like he did last year before the injury.  So far I don't remember him getting close to one.  Still plenty of time to get going.

He didn't have just any injury, it was extensive.  Grade 3 ACL tear (where it tears into two separate pieces), and MCL tear.  Also, he had a torn labrum in his hip coming out of OSU and prior had a double inguinal hernia surgery.  I think it will just take him some time to get all of those reflexes and smaller twitch muscles and nerve endings to compensate for the operation and the other tendons that have to be transplanted from other areas of the body.  I would say he will do nothing but get better as all of his injuries and subsequent surgeries are accepted by his body.  He's young, so I feel he will get back to about 95 of what he was.

Being so short handed we should just settle this game with trial by combat. Ballard vs. McDaniels at midfield.

I'd settle for those big q-tip things you see on american gladiator, let'em go at it.  I've got ballard either way.

  4. Colin Cowherd Show just now: He (DH) just said that he wouldn't go into detail and mention certain names but that he knows for a fact that when you start the season with BB, he tells you there are two things you don't mention, one was the Jets (what he called "the team up there from the east"), and the other was the Colts.  Now someone please tell me there is no rivalry there.  He also said that this was before deflategate.  Look, I already knew this (that BB hates us), but New England is going to try to put up a 50 burger on us tonight, and i hope it completely backfires.  I couldn't care less that they beat us 7 in a row or whatever it is, it's on.

  5. Nice post!  IMO We need an ambien pass-rusher, 2 more Offensive linemen fairly high draft picks the positions of which can't be truly determined till  end of year after all the injuries and positions of MAJOR weakness get settled (Ballard'ed).  FA or mid to late draft picks should include another linebacker, SS, cornerback & wide receiver (preferably picking up an ambien WR thru FA).

  6. This is a year to not get too high after a win and a defensive player of the week, and to not get too low after a loss like today.  It can be miserable to watch, but any loss that looked hopeful for a win is.  Reich isn't stupid, he'll right this ship WAY before it sinks. He'll do better at play calling, he's coached 3 friggin' games.  Remember, LaRaven Clark was our Left Tackle on the play that killed us.  Things will change with health, knowledge, and Andrew Luck's re-maturation.

word is he will be bringing his jersey in case we need a receiverhaha

everyone seems to be referencing a firearm in this thread:

In firearms terminology, the firearm receiver or firearm-frame is the part of a firearm which provides housing for internal components such as the hammer, bolt or breech-block, action and firing mechanism, and is usually threaded at its forward portion to "receive" the barrel and has screw holes on the bottom and/or ...

Hope it's not serious. Glad it's not an ACL, PCL, MCL, or Achilles type deal.

Found this, I am also glad it's not those either......hopefully he doesn't have to go on IR to free a position up in which case it would probably be a III.

A typical grade I calf strain will heal in 7 to 10 days, a grade II injury within about 4 to 6 weeks, and a grade III calf strain within about 3 months. The most common injury is a grade II calf strain that takes about 6 weeks for complete healing.

Well, if the winds pick up we won't be doing much passing so it won't really matter.  If, however, the weather is not a factor then I hope Andrew only throws short to the left side so he can see when to release, haha.  Clark at LT could be an...umm...adventure.

Winds actually diminish throughout the day.  Start at 11mph and diminish to 7 by late afternoon/evening   https://weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/l/USIN0258:1:US

Too bad about AC.  I think he's getting to the point where little injuries might start keeping him out more often.  I'd like to see us draft a LT than put AC on the right, which would instantly improve both spots with one pick.  We'll see how this season goes.

when players try to come back to early, this happens.  After a hamstring pull (tear), you are 3 to 4 times more likely to re-injure , especially if it was a grade 3

5-12 as a backup with a garbage roster and barely any time to learn the playbook. He could start for a few teams in the league, the Bills not being one of them. They just drafted Allen with their 1st round pick.

Allen needs to be behind a veteran to learn the ropes, we'll see how he does vs. Chargers.
