  1. Now, just because we're stout against the run does not mean we're automatically putting more pressure on the QB.

Ehhh more often than not, it does ultimately translate into that. Regardless, stopping the run means the other team has to figure out how to get 8-10 yards through the air. We've still got Mathis and now Werner is a guy that can come off the edge and get to the QB.

But I see what you're getting at.

  2. Great post.

It is something I have considered. New Head Coach. New OCoordinator. New Offense. New Oline. New Dline, New Defensive Backfield.

I trust our people with the process...but yeah, there is a lot of change there.

  3. Whatever CB we grabbed!! That is our biggest need. You see, CBs create awesome pass rush and we need to pressure the QB in the absence of Free. Also, good CBs will take pressure off of our offensive line.

    Definitely CB.

This is the most confusing post I've read in a long time...

Thank you! Now you know how I feel!

CBs don't create a pass rush!

    Say it again!!

  4. BPM.....

My friend Brian Casserly is being mostly sarcastic....

He has a long history here of getting annoyed at Colts fans who want another Cornerback.    He'd prefer more pressure on the QB -- which we all would.

Brian likes to take most every chance he can to rub our noses in the never-ending, always on-going, need another Cornerback debate....

    Hope that clarifies....

haha yes. My friend NewColtsFan is correct.

I've repeatedly and violently struck this dead horse. I may ease off a bit...until I see this nonsense again. ;)

  5. Ijalana hasnt had a fair chance he was hurt alot id say give him another shot as for mcglynn id cut him he was horrible last year  Brown he has been a bust idk id give him this year but if not just let him walk  Mckinney is a good DT i wouldnt let him walk

I dunno. I'm thinking McKinney'll be fortunate to survive the first round of cuts. We're stacked with talent at the position and let's be honest, he was brought in as a stop-gap (literally & figuratively). I'm not sure he makes the final 53. We'll see.

  6. You are certainly on a CB tear for the past couple days Brian. This made me laugh, thank you

Hughes will be the steal in my mind. He has the tools to be a very good NT.

What?! Hughes?! Hughes isn't a DB! He can't play Man against these elite WRs.

NO!!!! It is definitely the CB we drafted with our 1st selection! Bjorn Werner was the steal of this draft. Can you imagine him covering Megatron? Shooooo we got our Cornerback of the future baby! Vontae better just look out. But it doesn't stop there! Oh no. Grigson doesn't rest. We traded Jerry Hughes for stud CB Kelvin Sheppard (think of the movie "Iceman" and the neanderthal dude yelling SHEPHEERRRRDD). Now he's a show stopper! A wiley cave man with his hair on fire, who can play on an island or pressure the QB or block the opposing LB bearing down on Luck or pull and destroy anyone trying to come after Vick Ballard. These two DBs are gonna supplant the pregame "Reggie" chant at the Luke with orgasmic screams of "Shutdown"!! WOOOOO baby we are beast mode now! Build the Monster!!!

    :panic:

  7. Currently the roster is sitting at 102 players and that has to be down to 90 by Training Camp.

So 12 players will have to be released in the coming weeks.

Given the churning of the roster that has taken place in the last 18 months since Grigson has taken charge...........are there any holdovers from the previous regime (Brown, Reitz, Ijalana, Linkenbach) that are likely to to be cut still, or some players that the current regime (McGlynn, Hickman, McKinney) that could be cut prior to TC Starting - or after the Rookie Mini-Camp?

    What are you thoughts?

First off, anyone from the Polian era has to be considered a person who could get the boot (just as a general rule).

Secondly, stack up our positions by depth. The players that are in positions that have the most depth should have their head on a swivel.

Thirdly, undrafted Free Agents are always candidates for early retirement.

And of course Donald Brown; as "the greatest player in the history of the franchise" he is always on the bubble....or should be.

  8. Yeah, they must be on that analytics nonsense as well.

Apparently I cannot say "Hughes sucked" so I'll just say "he was the greatest player in the history of the franchise" who had more opportunities to prove himself than Tim Tebow. And he didn't do it. I am very glad he is now gone. And I'd have walked him out the door for a ham sandwich.

Regardless, this trade is what it is....two teams flipping players who do not fit their scheme.

  9. You compliment users who share your point of view ... wow that takes a big man!

So you acknowledge that you were (again) incorrect?

What am I supposed to, compliment you for disagreeing with me? Feign some appreciation for perspectives that I do not agree with?

...your posts or replies are usually arrogant and condescending; frequently blatantly so, and when it isn't blatant you always have to include a cheap shot remark, backhanded compliment, or some other pathetic attempt to belittle them under the guise of humor.

Yeah, I'm not doing the doctor Phil thing with you. If you do not appreciate my posts, by all means PLEASE utilize the ignore feature immediately.

And for the record I was not referring to myself as one of the most knowledgeable posters on this board ... and you most definitely are not either!!

    Duly noted. ;)
