This was his rookie season so he’ll get better. Even without Swoope TE is a strong position for us when healthy.

Thanks for the prayer and reminder that we are blessed so we can be a blessing to others. Jesus is the reason for the season!

1) He seems to tackle well and has good closing speed.
2) His foot speed seems a little slow to me. I hope I'm wrong. We need some LBs!
He runs 4.7 which is average.

Mack will be counted on to start but Hines should be a great change of pace back.
-
Sheard should start st DE. Simon is a tweaner LB/DE. Henry Anderson is losing weight to move to DE.

If there are 12 starters per team from rounds 1-3 and an average of 3 years starting it would indicate that there about 122 potential starting players in the average draft. I can’t remember where this information came from but it seems about right. Starters will come from all rounds including undrafted free agents but 60% come from the first 3 rounds, so the more opportunities you have to draft in the first 3 rounds the better the odds are for you to hit on starters. Scouts have been on both sides of the fence about the quality of this draft but the combine numbers indicate better than average. Time will tell.

2-3 starters per team would put the average at 64-96 , that is a fair number to expect, IMO.

Top linemen should be able to do switch but as said above some adjustments to hand and foot placement must be mastered.
-
Grigson was drafting first in the rounds so he had a little better positioning.

Agreed, Nelson is the only one I believe Rang comes close to.
-
Stay at 6 and take Barkley, Chubb or Nelson. The Chubb mentioned is the DE but I’d like us to use one of the 2nd round picks on the RB Chubb.
-
Don’t like the Key pick.
-
If we are looking for lbs with speed then Anthony Walker, Barkevious Mingo and John Simon run 4.65 or less.
-
Agree on Mingo moving to OSLB. He is perhaps the best athlete in the front seven. When given the chance he caused turnovers. I don’t think he is stout enough for DE and trying to fit him there may be trying to put a square peg in a round hole.
-
Eberflus was the defensive passing game coordinator and Dallas desperately wanted to keep him as defensive coordinator. Sirianni as a QB coach would have been involved in game planning.
-
Geathers could move to WSLB. Simon could move to MLB or DE. Simon is almost Freeney size but injury prone. Mingo could move to SSLB.
-
I believe Mingo could play weak or strong. Simon is agile enough for middle or strong and Geathers could play weak. Simon and Geathers need to prove they can shake their injury problems. If we drafted Minkah Fitzpatrick it would allow us to move Geathers.

I think Chester Rogers is gonna surprise and be a breakout star next year in McDaniels system... Amendola would be brought in mainly as a mentor to help others learn the system & as a “rabbit” for others to chase down and overtake for his position. I think Rogers can do just that.
I agree on Rogers. He has best change of direction of our receivers. He is probably our best slot option.

I just want to get a general sense of what this board thinks. This is assuming we keep the #3 pick and don't trade back. Who would you rather have?
I personally would take Barkley. He looks like he could be a once in a decade type RB. Pairing him up with a healthy Luck and with McDaniels and the offense is looking good. We can get a pass rusher or two in free agency.
Taking running backs early seems to have helped out a few teams of late. Fournette, Gurley. Or how much better the Cowboys are with Zeke than without (even with their great offensive line)
VOTE! And discuss
Agreed. I suggest we pursue Ezekiel Ansah of Detroit.
-
If we can poach Ezekiel Ansah from Detroit it would lessen the need for Chubb. Also Cleveland could take him or Barkley with the first pick. The QB position is so deep in this draft that they could get a very good QB at pick 4 or pick 33. Barkley to me is an elite RB so I would take him if he is there and if not then Fitzpatrick or Chubb.
-
I’d rather keep the pick and take Barkley if he is there. If Barkley is gone then take Fitzpatrick.
I hope we sign Norwell at G from the Panthers and Ansah at DE from Detroit.
-
Everyone listed has played those positions except Simon and Geathers. The current coaching staff talked about moving Geathers but if Simon and Geathers can’t change they could complete at DE and SS respectively.

Best coaching staff we have had since Dungy’s teams.
