  1. Great signing! I wish they could lock him up for more than a year though(awaiting details)2-3 would be nice. TY and DHB and Wayne and Allen, Fleener, Ballard, Havili! Luck has LOTS weapons to chose from.... with another good draft like last year and the sky is the limit for this team, way to go GRIGS!

I agree completely. All these 1 year deals are going to want to get seriously paid next year if we want to keep them.

  2. Forgot all about it - had no idea it was on to the next round.

It really is a shame. Montana was terrific, but not on the same planet as Unitas. Comparing a guy who methodically led one of the most dominant teams in the history of the sport (completely a tool of his HOF coach, and in my opinion only the third best QB of his own era - if not fourth or fifth), with a guy who redefined the position and was essentially the face of the league as it began morphing into the sport that we all love - is just ridiculous. The voting "should" be the complete reverse of what it is.

So which is which. Those statements could kind of apply to both.

  3. Anyone ever see this?

    For Peyton Manning: (13½ votes)

Troy Aikman (Class of ’06), George Blanda (’81), Len Dawson (’87), Dan Fouts (’93), Bob Griese (’90), Sonny Jurgensen (‘83), Jim Kelly (’02), Warren Moon (’06), Joe Namath (‘85), Clarence (Ace) Parker (’72), Fran Tarkenton (’86), Y.A. Tittle (’71), Charley Trippi (’68). Joe Montana (’00) (second half)

    For Tom Brady: (2½ votes)

Terry Bradshaw (’89), John Elway (’04), Joe Montana (first half)

Abstain: Dan Marino (’05), Bart Starr (’77), Roger Staubach (’85), Steve Young (’05)

That link just leads to a list of topics by sports. What's it supposed to be about?

  4. I really wanted to see a Manning/Unitas final. All the Pats fans are butthurt from Tom losing. haha Also did anyone ever see the Pats fans refer to Tom as TFB? I mean kind of a ripoff from PFM.

Never seen peyton referred to as PFM, do don't know what that is. Where did you see that the pats are butt hurt. Not surprised tho.

We get a WR instead of getting Desmond Trufant?

  6. At this point if its not DHB, Ide rather draft a WR in the 3rd or 4th & let that rookie & Brazil battle it out for more snaps. It's not that Lloyd is bad or DHB is so good, it's just DHB is young w/potential to grow still. Lloyd would just be taking snaps away from Hilton/Brazil. Now if someone suffers an injury, I'm all for Lloyd.

There won't be any good WR left by the 3rd, especially the 4th. It's either 1st or nothing. Unless you want someone of Brazil's skill or less.

  7. Wilson is also a user of the option and a fine runner. I look for a big year from Cam Newton this year but his team is terrible.... but I think he will be great and I would sure as heck take him ahead of Andrew Luck..... :dancing:

I respect your opinion but I believe newton is to big headed for his own good and crumbles under pressure more.

  8. More *. It is excuses. I didn't make any excuses for Manning, I haven't even talked much about him. He didn't lose those playoff games, the team did. I thought Luck was a mistake long before the decision was made. I thought RGIII was much better and I still do. RGIII has over inflated hype? He put up the numbers, he won the games. Luck came into Indy as the mover over hyped player in NFL history. There are plenty of people including many experts who are not sold on Luck and believe Wilson and RGIII are better. I guarantee you the Redskins and Seattle think they are better. Washington thought RGIII was better before the draft. They think so even more now. Luck is old school. Wilson, RGIII and Cam Newton are the future of the QB position. I saw people here saying Luck should have been the MVP last year. RGIII had Rookie of the Year wrapped up after six games...... :dancing:

Hi is luck not like them? He can move just as quick but doesn't break as easy. Cam newton? You heard nothing about him last year, teams figured him out as they will rg3 and the read option fad. Wilson and Luck are true pure QB's with the ability to move. Kaepernick is better than newton and rg3. Had he played the whole season he might have the best numbers.

  9. Talking to folks around here it seems that Manning wins every single game by himself. Except when the team loses, of course. Then it is everyone else's fault...In any case, wins are tied to QBs, as are losses, since the QB is the leader of the team. Brady and Manning and Rodgers aren't heralded because of the teams that they are on.

And what do you expect Brady to say? This only goes to show that he is a humble guy. Ask Manning who the best is and I doubt that he will call himself the best either...or would he? Hmm. Lol. And Brady describing Manning, he is basically describing himself...he will not settle for anything less than the best either.

I agree that manning is held very high around here, but somewhat justifiably so due to what he did for the city and the people of Indiana. But I think all wins and losses should be attributed to the team, not one person.

  10. Nope. Tom was just being a humanitarian......honest, he was....

    Humanitarian no, humble - definitely.

This argument will never end. Brady had the better overall team, I think Manning has the edge in skill. People argue that brady had no names and won whereas Manning had pro bowlers so brady is better. However this argument is invalidated due to the colts season this year. Tons of no names and rookies yet 11-5 season. Therefore it proves its about the teams, not the QB. Or if you want to say that it is the QB that makes the team better, then that argument invalidates the statements that luck isn't good, which are views that if one is held so is the other typically. This is because If it is the qb and Brady did well with nobody and is considered great, then luck has to be considered great if not greater because of winning with an even greater team if no names.

  11. I don't see why you're getting hostile. Must I really list the things that make me believe why Tom Brady is better? I suppose I am not entitled to my opinion anymore, so why not.

    5 SB appearances to Manning's 2.

    3 SB wins to Manning's 1.

The ability to overcome obstacles in the playoffs, not throwing costly interceptions and setting records for pick-sixes in the playoffs.

6th-round Draft pick who no one ever expected to have the craft that he has.

Humanitarian, great guy who is all about winning and will take pay cuts at a second's notice in order to attain another ring.

The constant quest for another ring-three is not enough, and getting rings is what drives Brady.

The hardest work ethic in the league.

The greatest craft in the league.

Need I continue, or are you in tears now?

Btw, I said greatest of the modern era, not just the past decade. Most successful QB who is also part of the most successful team.

The only thing i would agree with is if you said he had the best team for those 3 SB wins. A Qb doesn't win games by himself. Much like Brady would not have won any without clutch game winning kicks by Vinateiri. He hasn't won any since. He was beat twice by a team that went 9-7 in the regular season. Furthermore he is a quote directly from Brady when speaking of Manning.

"To me, he's the greatest of all-time.

What he's accomplished and the way that he studies, the way he prepares. He's really got a killer instinct too. I've been fortunate to be around him on a lot of occasions and we always hit it off; we have a great relationship and he's a friend of mine and someone that I always watch and admire because he always wants to improve, he always wants to get better and he doesn't settle for anything less than the best.

So when you watch the best and you're able to learn from the best, hopefully that helps me get better."

    And that's the Game!
