  1. Yeah, that's exactly why I am doubtful of Daniels... When I see Lamar Jackson or Jalen Hurts or Anthony Richardson, I see very well built frame, a strong muscular upper frame in all these guys supported by athletic lower frame. Daniels isn't built like Josh Allen too, he's even lighter than that.. Being a running QB isn't a problem for me as long as he has right mindset and intelligence, but Daniels has lean frame and his tape has lots of reckless running (which worked wonders at the college level), which will bring few major hits. I think Daniels will have to be very shrewd to survive in the NFL, and I hope he has it. He did look to have lightning-like burst and acceleration, so may be we'll see a new, unique set of parameters working out well for him in the NFL.
  2. I like Drake Maye very much, I think it would be worth a shot to move up and get him if he gets out of top QB selections. I like Daniels, but don't think he could play same style of QB in the NFL, he'll need to develop more of a passer which I'm not sure will happen. I don't like the mechanics of McCarthy, he has some beautiful throws but overall doesn't have the touch, consistency and accuracy I'd like to see from QBs. I think that puts a cap on his ceiling. I'll be okay with Vikings taking him at #23 if he's still available, otherwise won't move up for him or others. I didn't watch Penix or Nix much, if Vikings like any of the two really bad, I'd like them to take with #23 pick, not earlier. I just don't want to draft a QB just because they feel forced, I'd go with Darnold this year and hope to get QB in next draft(s), whenever it works out to get a top prospect.
  3. Yeah, I didn't think of it as list for sleepers, I just provided the list of guys I liked.. Sleepers Isaac Guerendo Kristian Boyd Myles Harden McKinnley Jackson Daequan Hardy
  4. My sleepers: (meaning, the kind of players coaches would like to have, more than what consensus big board gives credit to them. Some of them might need couple of years to attain their high potential, if drafted into suitable coaching environment, so a lot depends on that. Some of them have injury concerns too). Most of them are high IQ players or high-effort, high-motor players - two traits I look for from the Drafted players, list is long but I like these guys.. gonna be interesting to see where they land and how it works out for them in long run. Payton Wilson, LB, NC State Caelen Carson, CB, Wake Forest Kiran Amegadjie, OT, Yale Maason Smith, IDL, LSU Christian Mahogany, OG, Boston College Max Melton, CB, Rutgers Zak Zinter, OG, Michigan Bucky Irving, RB, Oregon Khyree Jackson, CB Oregon Dylan McMahon, C, NC State (good fit for Browns) Tykee Smith, SAF, Georgia Ainias Smith, WR, Texas A&M Cam Hart, CB, Notre Dame Michael Barrett, LB Michigan Malachi Corley, WR, Western Kentucky Beaux Limmer, IOL, Arkansas Kamren Kinchens, S, Miami McKinnley Jackson, IDL, Texas A&M Kalen King, CB, Penn State Justin Eboigbe, IDL, Alabama Jacob Cowing, WR, Arizona Beau Brade, SAF, Maryland Isaac Guerendo, RB, Louisville Jalyx Hunt, EDGE, Houston Christian (I'm hoping for day 3 Vikings pickup, as Flores could work wonders with him) Jaheim Bell, TE, Florida State Brennan Jackson, EDGE, Washington State Delmar Glaze, OT, Maryland Myles Cole, EDGE, Texas Tech Kristian Boyd, DT, Northern Iowa Javontae Jean-Baptiste, DL, Notre Dame Jordan Magee, LB, Temple Myles Harden, CB, South Dakota Jalen Green, EDGE, James Madison (UDFA Target prospect) Trey Taylor, S, Air Force (UDFA prospect) Eyabi Okie-Anoma, EDGE, Charlotte Qwan'tez Stiggers, CB, Toronto Sundiata Anderson, EDGE, Grambling State Daequan Hardy, CB, Penn State (Special Teams, Returner) Emani Bailey, RB, TCU As for Vikings, I don't wanna rush to draft QB if the team isn't confident in the guys they could move up in draft range, and I'd like to just draft impact players that build the roster at this point. Build the team, draft a franchise QB at right time, don't rush and ruin years trying to make someone work out in the NFL.
  5. It makes sense to trade down for the same reasons. Two positions on OL, and two positions on DL might leave next year and even if not, will be open in couple of years and some of the re-signings will be gone in 3 years if not sooner. That assumes all the re-signing will be success but not all of them might perform at high level, especially at CB and S. If the strategy is to draft and re-sign, then you will need to continuously draft a lot of players in all positions because not much is coming from free agency. You've got to make lot of draft picks, and not all of the drafted players are gonna work out. That's the very reason for multiplying the draft picks and plunging on much larger pool of talents in second and third rounds of the Draft. Holder's logic only works out if all of re-signing and drafting are going to be success, and the "proven" players aren't close to elite except for some on DL and OL, RB and WR, and NCB.
  6. You speak as if we don't understand how life without Kirk will be. And, you had no clue how it was with Kirk either, which you don't seem to understand even after pointing out (now for 3rd time). You also speak as if Kirk has Vikings at the top of the division, lol The best part of life without Kirk is it will be a step towards getting a permanent franchise QB, because (a) Kirk is not that (b) no use in waiting for a 36-year old to become franchise QB. We'd rather have Darnold and pick closer to top 10 or better rather than paying 40+ million for a finish in draft range of 14 - 25. When you say Vikings had more patience because he was good, you overlook the amount of money he was milking while being slightly above average. Whatever worth Kirk was being better than Wentz, he got paid very well for that too, so that only adds to more frustration about finding a franchise QB. If you pay 40+ million for a QB for average results year after year for 6 years, you'd feel the frustration but at this point you're not able to look from others' perspective so no point in discussing further.
  7. Yes, Wentz can't come ever close to Kirk's abilities but that's not my point. You need to re-read what I said, the best way to explain Cousins' issues is to be a fan of his team and experience his play when you're emotionally invested in the franchise's success. That doesn't mean they are comparable. Being much better than Wentz means no big endorsement either. As for the excuses you made for Cousins, I look forward to hearing all the similar excuses from Falcons forums! Gonna be Awesome for a change after past half-decade! I'll say one thing - Colts fans can't handle 1 year of Wentz, including the owner. And half year of Ryan, including the owner. Vikings had shown better patience with Cousins in 6 years, when his first two years ended like Wentz' year with Colts, except for the difference of lot of fantasy stats and highlight reels. You'd again point to how Cousins is so much better than Wentz, and it will be a circular argument - which is why I tried to explain what Superman felt and how it reflects being a fan of Cousins' team.
  8. It evens out... If they stay in college, they get more experience and come to NFL as much more nuanced players, it might help the NFL in long term. It's only in this Draft or a couple more that we'd see the effect of underclassman players staying in college more, but in long term if that continues to be the trend, that gets evened out, and the advantage is more college players playing for more years overall, and that should only help NFL teams, scouts and GMs.
  9. @2006Coltsbestever @NFLfan Kirk has been treated much better and with much more respect than Wentz was treated in Indy. And was showed with Love and truckloads of money in Minnesota, and was defended constantly with much more ferocity by Vikings fans than people defending Ballard in Grievances thread. it'd be crazy to think of injustice against Kirk for a few minority who criticize his play. We're Going back and forth on Kirk debate which will go on for eternity, but I struck Gold when I saw recently @Superman explaining how he felt watching Wentz playing with other teams before he got to Indy and how it felt watching him play for Colts when you're emotionally invested with the franchise. There's no other way to perfectly describe Kirk Cousins' career and his QB play. For every fan around the NFL, especially for fantasy football fans, Kirk will be a hero and am above average QB. But, when you're emotionally invested in your favourite franchise and Kirk plays QB for your team, you would come close to understanding how excruciatingly frustrating his play and smartness and game awareness are (or shortage of them are), that all contributes to team missing playoffs many years and even when they qualify, no one sees Kirk as a threat in playoffs. Ever. Your team would be paying Elite QB Money for that, and you'd be constantly in debate with criticizers Vs defenders. Until he plays for your team, you won't realize that, and I totally understand. Anyway, happy to pass on that frustration over to Falcons fans, they'd know soon. First of all, Kirk takes at least a season or two to trust his OL, even if you put an elite line and weapons around him, and it's all in his head. I'm going to sit back and read Falcons forums for Fun in 2024 Season! Good Times!
  10. Cardinals got a swapped 3rd round draft pick, at best. I don't know why people are talking about the swap of #8 and #11, how would the punishment be so harsh for Falcons, compared to the precedence from past year? I think it has to do with romanticizing draft pick exchange during people's mock drafts during this time of the year - Draft Season. If there's any punishment for Falcons at all, it will probably be lighter, same as last year or an early day 3 draft pick.. people expecting top 50 or top 15 draft pick for Vikings as punishment of Falcons will probably be disappointed.
  11. Agreed on possibility of getting a great talent and WR1 outside the top receivers but need to get it right and the board has to fall favorably, and sometimes that might need a trade-up which may be unfavorable for the Colts. However, if the team believes in him that much, cost shouldn't be a hindrance ideally, and willingness to give up would be the question mark.
  12. Yeah, if the exercise was about what Ballard would do, I'd not be wasting my time in mock draft though I think about what Ballard would do, but eventually go with my instincts.
  13. I was drafting the players I liked, and now realize some of them don't have good RAS at all
  14. I'll not be available for next 2 days, so gonna go for best available WR or CB at this point.. So far, my picks for Colts are Brock Bowers, TE Kamren Kinchens, S Christian Mahogany, OG Renardo Green, CB
  15. Link is here for the draft in Vikings forum, clicking the link opens the Google Sheets https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EvVEjd1aqtU7ASvVUJVJZMqzWVCwO5myqhrz4xCoc4w/edit?usp=drivesdk
  16. Two relevant points. Regarding the team ALWAYS going to be run first team, RB shelf life is short and JT has already played a lot of years compared to average peak time for RBs, so there aren't many years in him into the future unless he goes on like Adrian Peterson. This team was run first because QBs weren't good, was it run first with Andrew Luck? I don't think this team is going to be run-first offense ALWAYS, especially after drafting AR, while expecting him to grow to be a franchise QB-level passer. Yes, it's all true that Jefferson got drafted at 22,Ceedee went 17, Juedy went 15 , Aiyuk 25 and Higgins 33 but GM has gotta pick the right guy at right time and other teams shouldn't get to the right guy before Colts do. For every Jefferson at #22 example, there's a Jalen Reagor at #21. The toughest part in picking Jefferson at #22 is not picking a bust like Reagor and missing out on Jefferson. As you go away from the top of the Draft, hitting on busts is more likely than exactly drafting the perfect right guy. Drafting isn't that easy, without the help of hindsight. Right now, We can't name which of the WRs in upcoming draft will be a good value, good return pick, even though this draft class is super, super deep on WRs. Of course, 4 years later in 2028, everyone can point out Jefferson or Higgins or Lamb or Aiyuk of 2024 WR Draft Class.
  17. WRs available Walker, Corley, Burton, Polk, Washington, Rice, McMillan, Baker, Johnny Wilson, Thrash Some of them could be available in round 4 as well
  18. Isaac and Kneeland have been taken by now. LBs are definitely an option as only one has been taken so far. Lot of CBs are available, I'd be comfortable picking in round 3, not earlier though. Players I'm targeting apart from LBs: Zak Zinter Khyree Jackson Brandon Dorlus Masson Smith Dominick Puni Leonard Taylor Few other CBs So, options are rich going into #82, only 17 picks to go!
  19. I think Colts' current roster heavily moved me towards addressing defense, but didn't like CBs available by round 2, so went for a safety. I could've gone for LBs as only Edgerrin Cooper had been taken by then. I could've gone for Christian Haynes, í liked OTs Kingsley Suamataia and Patrick Paul but didn't want to draft OT. I've not studied much on Pearsall, so my ignorance played a part in not picking him.
  20. @Yoshinator @Solid84 @RollerColt @crazycolt1 @chad72 @stitches @CR91 @w87r @John Hammonds @csmopar @SaturdayAllDay @coltsfanej @Archer @Defjamz26 @TomDiggs I've been picking for Colts in Vikings forum Mock Draft that started last night, and we had 2 rounds completed. I picked TE Brock Bowers in round 1 and S Kamren Kinchens in round 2, didn't get to trade up or down, so I'm probably gonna let the board fall and pick the best player available. 5 QBs were taken in 1st round, there was a run on OTs and top 3 WRs, and 2 Edge rushers. 0 CBs and 0 DTs were taken when I was on clock, so all of them were available. Edge Latu was also available among others. I went with Bowers as that'd be rare opportunity to get an explosive, potential elite weapon on offense. By Colts pick in round 2, there was a huge run on CBs, OTs and OG/Cs, and S Nubin was also taken. All of the other top WRs were also taken, and I was eyeing on Ladd McConkey who just went a pick prior to Colts, otherwise I'd have taken him, even if that meant going offensive playmakers back to back. I didn't like many of the other receivers or DL players available, as I had lower grade for them for #46, Ricky Pearsall and Mike Sainristil were there , other players available were TJ Tampa, two other top LBs who I considered, DT T'Vondre Sweat was also available... Among Safeties, only Nubin had been taken already at that point, so all other Safeties were there. I considered between Kinchens and Bullard, both of whom I liked, but eventually thought Kinchens' versatility in playing different positions would suit Colts defense better. Rounds 3 and 4 tonight... Let me know what you think I could've done or you'd have done, that'd help me target in upcoming rounds.
  21. Yes, this QB class can survive because of their athletic ability that translates well to the modern NFL. But, I'm trying to find a QB in the class who can do all the running (which most of them are good at) AND also be able to understand what defenses try to do, and make or change plays within the pocket. By the virtue of Penix having played inside the pocket almost all the plays, he should've developed an innate ability to do just that, so maybe he'll translate well mentally. Though his tape seems to show concerns about his touch and accuracy in short and intermediate levels. You may be proven right if he could develop into a more accurate passer that can throw with anticipation.
