  1. we have two second round picks in 2019 correct? We should be able to get solid WR, RB, and DL with the our first thee picks. We're also in line to get one or maybe two compensatory picks (projected to be in the 4th). I'd love it if we could somehow figure out a way to grab another 1st or 2nd round pick (giving us 4 picks in the first two rounds). Assuming Ballard gets the right guys, we could have an even better draft than 2018.

2019 is very deep with DL, good with WR. decent for RBs. i'd love to get a guy/RB like Josh Jacobs somewhere late 2nd through 3rd.

Instead of spending all the cash on Bell, get a solid proven DB in the FA market.

  2. i was so excited when we got Cain where we did in the draft. sucks he got hurt.

i said from the start Grant was not the answer. he's not, and he's got the worst yac on the team i think. wish they would have dumped him and picked up Tate when Detroit wanted to deal.

not sure what the WR options will be in the draft through the second round, but we need one either in the 1st or 2nd. we need speed with hands.

  3. While they are maybe hot right now, Tenn is still 30th in total O. Dallas IMO is not a world beater.  Pats win was great. And remember, Tenn is also the same team that lost to the Bills and got shut out by the Ravens.

It should come down to our O vs their D. I like our chances at home with this OL. If the OL protects Luck, he'll find WRs/TEs.

Great chance to make a statement, get to .500, and creep closer to Houston.

  4. Polian may not have been great, but he wasn't bad. He was torn between a QB driven team, and a HC's love for D. Mudd did just fine with the OL, and his leaving was the beginning of the OL decline. Grigson was just bad lol.

Ballard did great this year. Won't crown him until after next year's season. He's got O skill (RB/WR) needs, and plenty of areas to improve on D. If he kills it in those areas next year, he can have the crown.

I've seen a number of people on different media suggest that our win over the Raiders looks less impressive after watching the 49ers blow the Raiders out.

The counterpoints that I've seen have been that the Raiders performed this poorly on TNF because the Colts already broke their will on Sunday. The Raiders essentially tapped out after giving up 200 rushing yards and losing their 6th game. Plus it was a short week, which is always harder.

My perspective is this: Our offense played great against the Raiders. Our defense had a rough game.  Simple as that. The Raiders were coming off a bye and had 2 weeks to prepare for us, and they played well. When they dont get that time to prepare, well, Nick Mullens can tell you the rest of the story.

Another point I want to make, is that the Bills had a VERY competitive game against the Patriots on Monday. The Bills Defense played great and held the Patriots offense for much of the game. That was thesame Defense that we destroyed last week. So, if you're somebody that thinks TNF changes the optics of our win on Sunday, go watch Pats-Bills and then tell me how you feel after that.

We're small market, coming back from a back from an awful season, etc.. Unless we're lighting it up week in week out, we're not going to get a lot of hype. And lets face up, lighting up the Raiders only gets you so far. We've been very competitive in our losses, and we're improving. I'm happy with that.

National media isn't going to jump on our bandwagon unless we beat a big dog, or simply go on a long and convincing run. We have zero big dogs left on our schedule, so all we can do is be good and beat the teams in front of us. I can easily see us going 5-3 or 6-2 to finish. Everyone is beatable in the AFC South.

But let's be honest, even when we had Manning shredding records, the media still doubted us.

Golladay took his place.  Tate only had 40 more yards that Golladay and Jones had 2 more TDs. If you have been paying more attention you would have noticed that Golladay had already pretty much took his spot away.

The signing of Grant was to have at least one vet WR on the roster besides TY.  Just how much has Grant been used this season?  We have a rookie TE who has been used more than him. Grant signed as an insurance player does not say Ballard is not grooming his own.

you literally have zero clue. in the last two games, Tate has 11 catches, Golladay only 3. And they don't even play the same position. Jones and Powell will compete to replace Tate.

And I'm not paying attention? LOL.

Tate usually plays in the slot, Golladay usually outside and the Lions most used personnel is 11 personnel. Tate's snap count actually has increased from last year.

yup, he is ahead of the proportional totals of his last 3 years from a stat perspective. he's on track to increase his yearly average by 100+ yards.

I just don't think Ballard want's to sign Tate to a multi year contract when he is going to be on the wrong side of 30.  He was the 3rd best receiver on the Lions and they didn't think he was worth dealing with him. Not when we have Inman, Ashmael, Pascal and Rogers active and Cain, Johnson and Wright on IR. Ballard has said he wanted to get younger and groom our own players preferably through the draft.

Ballard said what he wanted and right now he is doing exactly as he said he was going to do.

Agree or not that is reality.

Ballard has a plan and I for one don't have a problem with him not signing Tate. IMO Grant will be gone at years end and those guys mentioned will get their chance along with next years draft. If a WR that is in the 23-26 year range pops up Ballard might bite on it? He did fish for Cooper but sure wasn't going to give a 1st round pick for him.

Tate is the 3rd best? He was leading them in both receptions and yards.... Through only 7 games he's statistically ahead of his totals for the past three years. They got rid of him because they would have had to wait a year for a comp pick when he left in FA after the season. Which is really stupid, and sends a message that your giving up on 2018.

I don't have a problem with Ballard sticking to plan, but to say he's satisfied with grooming those on the roster is not accurate. He'll more than likely use one of the first 2 picks on a WR next year. Let's not forget Grant was a FA signing for only one year, so we know Ballard is willing to go outside of the "grooming stable". Tate is on the wrong the side of 30, so I wouldn't want a long term deal. I don't see anyone signing him for more than 2-3 years. But, Tate does not look like he's slowed based on current and past stats.

I think Ballard has faith in Cain but also in Inman and Ashmael. Maybe Ballard didn't want to give a draft pick up and deal with his contract at the end of this season?

Cain has a high ceiling and has the skill set to ascend quickly. Inman and Asmael, they might work out, but it will take time. They are both cheap, so I'm happy to be patient.

Tate, he'll be asking for 7ism per year. We're paying Grant, who is third in productivity 5M. I'd be happy to pay an extra 2 or 3M plus a 3rd for Tate in place of Grant. We'd get double the production spending perhaps less than 50% more. Tate also brings more tools in his tool bag. Not to mention TY would be more open...
