Thank goodness the game is tomorrow, this has been perhaps the longest week I have ever spent on this forum reading about Luck's noodle arm and how our play calling stinks. Go Colts!

I remember Hairston tweeted “They hate you, then love you, and then hate you again!”

First thing i thought is that he must read the forum

Hate the Constanzo injury. I thought he was going to be back for this game.

Looks like he will be back next week. I’d rather him stay out another week even if it means he gets fully healthy and stays that way

  3. Throws depend on confidence and timing as well. He may not be as confident in his throw bc he’s not as accurate as he once was. Once he builds up that accuracy and confidence again, he will be throwing the ball with more decisiveness and more velocity.

Thats how I see it. Plus it was raining, and Luck hasn’t thrown very much in dry weather. How would you think he would do in inclement weather?

You're getting way ahead of yourself. We are nowhere near one of the best defenses in the league. Our defense is making a ton of plays (sacks, pics, fumbles, tfl amd 3rd down stops) and it's awesome but we are still very inconsistent. We are very young on D which allows room to grow and we still don't have all the pieces to the puzzle. Let's hope that we get to the point where we can give them a legit name.

We will drop once the more consistent defenses show that they are the more elite brand, but we ARE leading the league (tied for 1st) in sacks. We have only allowed 1 TD in two weeks of football. Those are signs of a very good defense at least.

I respect where you come from though since it has only been 3 weeks. It’s definitely a fair point

  5. The biggest factor was the play calling. The fact Luck had around 12 completed passes for 30ish yards is bad. Shows how conservative our offense has been playing. I get it was a good defense, but you don’t win games by playing that way.

Luck can only play as good as the calls made, but he made some poor throws, including downfield throws. It was raining, and maybe that was a factor, but that fact remains.

The offense as a whole needs to improve, or this season is lost. And it all rests on Luck. Again. If he improves, the team improves. As in undefeated improvement. We won’t lose another game if Luck gets back to throwing 2-3 TDs a game and making clutch throws.

  6. Seriously though! If we get Castanzo back any time soon, and Luck starts getting into his old form, we should be able to score more. The offenses play calling was horrendous, but against a front 7 like the Eagles, it is hard. I don’t get throwing to TY in the red zone on a fade route when you have Ebron, a much bigger target.

Either way, Luck does need to play better. His reads are bad sometimes, as he forced the ball in the red zone. There’s a lot of problems on offense, and they just add up to a big mess. Luck needs targets, he needs to knock off rust, o line needs to play better, etc.

  7. It’s amazing how we went from one of the better offenses a few years ago, to a below average offense. And a terrible defense to one of the best in the league.

Imagine if our offense can get back to speed. We will actually be a great football team! It’s just hard to see a lot of ours favorite player, Luck struggling so much.

Not true.  The defense was actually very good in the early Luck years.   Redding and Mathis, as well as probably the best secondary in the NFL at the time.  Davis and a pre injury Toler were excellent man corners,  and an enthused Landry and Bethea made a great S team.  Butler was a great slot corner.

But Luck competed in the AFC South and Detroit always had GB to contend with.  I think the Bears may have had decent teams back then.

Landry wasn’t very good, Toler was terrible. Our defense was certainly better than the last few years, but saying it was very good is a bit extreme.

The past is the past however. I’m excited how our defense looks NOW

I would think short yardage and goal line would be his primary area.

Wilkins, Hines and Mack should not lose too many carries for Turbin.

And to be clear, I like Turbin.   Glad we have him.    But his ceiling is not as high as our kids.   And the kids have to play!

I don’t think he has a higher ceiling, but he certainly has a higher floor. I remember him making some clutch 3rd down conversions, not even in short yardage. He’s elusive for his size. I personally would prefer him as our primary back with Mack being injured rn

In all honesty it's a game nobody is picking us to win. We are playing with house money here being at 1-1 now. If we lose this game I won't even be upset as long as I see great effort and the game is competitive. If we win than I would say it's time the media and fans take us seriously again.

Knowing the media, they will see it as “Philly has really declined since the super bowl to lose to the Colts”

Colts (2-1) decline 3 spots in the Week 3 power rankings.

I think it will be a low score game.   17_14 type.   I'm excited you see if our defence can show out again.

17 -14 colts is my prediction

I think Luck can burn their secondary a few times. Our defense just has to do well again. With the rhythm offense we have going right now, the Philly pass rushers shouldn’t be much of an issue, similar to Preston Smith and Kerrigan last week
