If I'm Eberflus, I'm planning to completely shut down the running game and force Bortles to make NFL throws. Then, start the blitzing.

The key? Can we shut down the running game? I believe a certain big time running back is returning to face us... And it sounds like he will be the main centerpiece this weekend as the Jags try to survive with Bortles.

We haven’t seen a terrible rush defense this year yet. Before, if we were down, the run game opened up big time for the opponent, but now I don’t see that. The effort is the difference as well as talented run defenders.

  2. The Jaguars defense doesn't look like what it used to.  I expect the oline to look a little worse, but definitely make some holes in the run game.  I know the Jags are low ranked in terms of rush defense.

I never thought the Titans were good, even making the playoffs last year.  The only reason they beat us was because we were missing Luck.  Lets not forget Luck is still undefeated against the Titans, and I think that will continue.

The Texans barely left with a win last time and I think we are better since that game.  They also lost Will Fuller who is a true #2 WR for them, which is a huge loss to their offense.  Games against the Texans are going to be a shootout between Luck and Watson, so they'll be fun to watch.

The Jags game next week is huge in my opinion; its the game where we finally see where we are, and if we can beat a great defense paired with a subpar offense.  If our defense wins the battles, we should win the game.

I don't really even call that Texans game a dog fight.  We pretty much made it into a dog fight with all over our self made bloopers.  I still say we are the superior team and I felt that way in that game as well.   I didn't like our game plan, but that should be much different this time around.

Good point. We shot ourselves in the foot in basically every loss we’ve had.

Ballard repeats the same few words a lot of the time. "Well" "Look" You know". Something I was always taught when I was in school (the type of school in the 90s where kids still learned), was to "diversify your words when speaking". It makes for a much smoother interview. Just something that personally made me cringe a bit when reading

At least we know it’s not scripted! Lol

Yeah, by no means am I thinking the Colts should beat the Jags. I expect this will be the hardest win of the season to date if we do come out on top.

Way too much talent and bad blood to take them lightly , and lets be honest , we were just in a dog fight with a far inferior Oakland team.

Like every game this season , I want to see progress in our youth and I hope we win. But I don't expect anything.

This will be a huge test for Reich's play-calling imo, because the Jags are certainly going to take away things we like to do.

Our D-line has to be better than it was yesterday , because if we allow the Jags to run the ball and control the clock , we're playing right into their hands.

We were in a dogfight against the Texans, who are now 5-3. I don’t see how Oakland being bad and playing a good game lowers our teams ability to fight back in a game

Other than that, I agree with you 100%

  6. What I've taken in from this thread so far:

    - We like Mack, but not that much, but hes good! but he can't catch, but he...

He's playing very well, plain and simple!!

I swear, when we win the super bowl, there's gonna be a thread on: "We could have done this better"

Who cares where we rank in yards per game on the ground? Protecting Luck was priority number 1, & you're upset because we're not some 1950s ground & pound team?

Aren’t you?!?!?!?!?!?!? Pound that rock baybeeeeeee!

but in a serious note, Reichs offense seems to balance the run and pass, which is obviously the goal every game, but the way it worked against the Bills was awesome. The Bills defense was just WORN. OUT. And that made that game that much more fun to watch.

We got to see how a prolifent coaching staff works in helping the players win a game.

Lol good god. It was only one game we won. Let’s see the OL have good outings against the opponents on the way. We need more then 2 consecutive games with great blocking before we pass a verdict. So “lol” at you

    Uhhhhhhhh

we havent allowed a sack in 2 weeks. To the Bills, who have a great defense, and Jets, who also have a good front 7. We also only allowed 1 to the Patriots the week prior to the Jets. We have had plenty of decent outings in terms of pass pro so far this season. The run game has also improved since the return of Castanzo. Things are looking up, so why are you looking down?

I thought Quincy showed some flashes today. Believe he will get there sooner or later.

I agree. He may not have had a flawless game, but he nearly scored a defensive touchdown. Good awareness on that particular play by him to grab it and run.

Also in his defense on the pass he allowed and fell over, the WR pushed off on him. He was in pretty good position until that point. Nice to see him back on the outside as well
