  1. Belichick has probably more knowledge on Steelers defense than Mike Tomlin himself..

On top of what GoPats said, Steelers have expected their OLBs to cover this year.. a lot.TJ Watt has spent like half of his snaps in coverage and Harrison can't cover at all anymore. Steelers generate pressure by their extremely stout interior (more devastating for QB) and well-disguised blitzes. Their slot corner, Mike Hilton, has 4 sacks. Vince Williams, ILB, has 7 sacks (Watt gas 6).

Harrison is short and strong as an ox even today. He could still cause trouble for taller OTs who cant anchor well. Like Eric Fisher, Chiefs LT, who has historically struggled against Harrison. Harrison's only sack this year came by beating Eric Fisher. Not sure if Harrison can set an edge anymore though, as he seems to have trouble moving. Pats expect all of their edge rushers to set the edge first.

    Proven winners.

Both carried Peyton to the Super Bowl..

Loved in both Indy and Chicago

John Fox is anything but beloved in Chicago. Everyone wants him gone.

For me.. proven winners actually have to win something. Broncos won immediately after Fox left despite Peyton being one of the worst starting QBs in the league. The D went from very good to GOAT level, despite Fox being a defensive coach.

Lets just face the facts without the Manning's being in the Playoffs it is the Patriots world. Peyton 3-1 vs Brady in Title games and Eli 2-0 in SB's. Without those 2 guys the Pats may have 10 SB wins by now?

It's possible but I don't think Pats would have won in '13 and '15. They got stomped do badly in '13 against the Broncos and were re-tooling their defense and had only Edelman and Amendola as good, somewhat healthy receivers in.playoffs.

I think they'd lose to Carolina in Super Bowl 50. Pats were badly banged up with a bad offensive line (Scar had retired but came back the following year). Panthers had great Oline with one weakness; Remmers against speed rushers. But Pats didn't have any speed rushers. Belichick vs Shula is an obvious mismatch but Pats probably didn't have the horses to win that Super Bowl.

And fatigue/complacency would set in at some point.. I don't think they'd have won every SB the last 4 years even without Peyton.

I suppose you're right, but it never occurred to me that these guys go outside of the bubble of medical staff associated with the team for surgery. Or rather that it was totally 100% his call.

I'm not saying Luck or anyone would do this, but if he really really wanted to have surgery done by Dr. Nick Rivera (The Simpsons quack), the team would have no say to stop that? Seems like something that would be buried in the contract.

I think it's pretty usual that players have surgeries with medical staff not associated with the team. As team docs aren't usually specialists in one area and surgeons usually are, at least the best ones.

What is weird that Luck didn't go for the best shoulder specialists in the business and didn't even have the surgery done by a shoulder specialist if I've understood correctly.. Comfort? I'd only be comfortable if my throwing shoulder in Luck's situation was operated by the best doc the country has to offer.

Ugh...he didn't even last 2 seasons in Denver.  After reading the article below I wonder why some would want him anywhere near the Colts.  Is it because he coached under Belichick?  That in itself isn't enough for me.

The Giants still have games with the Eagles (w/o Wentz), Cardinals and the Redskins left. Maybe there is a glimmer of hope there. However, their top brass might not try too hard to play themselves out of the top two QBs.

Eagles Dline is too good. They should shred the so-called Oline of Giants. Redskins have probably too much talent on offense and can score enough points to win the Giants. I think Giants have good shot against the Cards but can't see them beating Eagles and Skins.

I would have to go with Vikings.  They've never won a SB.

I could get behind the Eagles but with Wentz tearing his ACL I think the odds of that are low.

I could also get behind Green Bay.  They are sort of my 2nd favorite NFL team.  But I think their odds are pretty long as well.

    Anybody but the Patriots.

    This right here.

  8. How they have handled the QB situation has been disastrous and it's not like their terrible QBs have very good weapons either.

But Sashi Brown nailed most of his picks and more than half of them look like solid players. This disaster is probably more on Hue than Brown.

Eli is 1 of 12 QBs with multi super bowls

    Two super bowl MVPs

    Four time pro bowler

He is in the top 10 in all time passing yards and TDs

He is only 1 of 5 Qbs with 300 + career passing Tds. The other 4 are Brady, P. Manning, Big Ben and Elway.

So he has rubbed elbows with the best in the league and those other 3 with out a doubt be in the HOF with Elway.

IMO he will be in the HOF. Maybe not first ballot but he will get in. You have to remember who is on the HOF committee. Eli will only have to have 80% of the committee's vote to get in.

    Team award.

Justin Tuck was the real MVP of 2007, though but yeah.

And zero All-Pros (how many of those are there in HOF?). Even Donovan McNabb was a 6 time Pro Bowler.

He was good for a long time in a passing era.

He was good for a long time in a passing era.

None of those awards/stats tell me that Eli was an elite player at his position.

  10. I don't think he should but he probably will. He belongs in the Hall of Very Good. He had the longevity but was never considered the best player at his position, not even top3 and maybe not even top 5. Wasn't even the best player on his own team for much of his career.

Is he a Hall of Famer if Asante Samuel makes that catch/Tyree doesn't make that helmet catch and/or Manningham catch?

I am not sure of the Vikings cap room but Eli still has 2 years left on his contract with over a 22 million dollar cap hit for 2018 and over a 23 million cap hit in 2019. That's a lot of money for a 37 year old QB next season.

If Eli is traded next offseason but before the draft, the team acquiring him would have him at about 10M cap hit for 2018 and 17M for 2019.

LOL I don't know who AM is, but since suffering his original shoulder injury Andrew has sucked. Sorry, Colts fans.

Last season was his best season, or at least comparable to his 2014 season. Either he's always sucked or hasn't sucked since his original shoulder injury.

Not really injury prone either, since he's only had two major injuries. Borderline miracle with the line he's had, his style of play and not avoiding hits/not sliding when taking off.

I'd pass on Reid.  He has a history of poor clock management and many KC fans are saying he's the part of the reason for their current downhill trend.

His clock management does suck but that is also true for a lot of coaches, except many coaches don't have the same ability as Andy Reid when it comes to playdesign and exploiting weaknesses on defenses.. He's probably at least part of the reason for their downfall but the biggest reason is at QB. He has yet to have a losing season in KC with Alex Smith and thrice in four years has pulled double digit wins.

I have hard time believing that a better coach then Reid would become available.
