  1. Talk about not being able to get out of your own way. Sad situation for both he and Gordon.

    http://kfor.com/2014/07/24/former-osu-star-justin-blackmon-arrested-for-marijuana-possession/

He's young and making poor choices but if he can manage to get out of his own way and accept that the NFL doesn't want him doing this........then maybe he can put this behind him.

If not then I guess that's his choice.

He shouldn't be smoking and driving anywhere in the country.  That's dangerous and stupid.

On a side note, I've been reading recently where they are starting to look at medical marijuana as a possible treatment for Alzheimers.

    Wouldn't that be something?

For now though......no such treatment exists and marijuana doesn't 'enhance' your ability to drive a car.

  2. It clearly says it enhances physically and mentally in the link I sent.

Shane that link was to pot propaganda.  It lacks credibility in my opinion.

Regardless of whether it enhances you physically or mentally..........this piece just is not objective

  3. I wasnt comparing the two, i hope it didn't come across that way. I was just pointing out there are instances where a violent action is the only option.

I will also point out, a relationship that goes down this road rarely if ever pans out. My wife and i have been together 20 years. And although there have been times she haa wanted to club me, she never has :)

    lol

I haven't set my husband on fire yet either...........although I've mentioned it to him as a possibility. Whatever his plan for me is.......remains a secret

Death threats aside........we've never been violent with each other.  I cannot imagine how people live that way

  4. When we have to resort to trying to explain the difference between defending a helpless child to that of someone beating another person  unconscious  ~  It's time to realize with some people, with very strong differing opinions,  you can't really debate in a sensible manner.

Gramz is signing  out of this conversation.   :hello:

I know what you are saying.  Every time we have this sort of topic we have some posters who.......well you know.  I've gotten involved in them and realized the same thing you did.

  5. Unless it's extreme circumstances, men who punch women are scumbags. In case you didn't know, women don't have the strength\muscle mass of men.......there is no need to cold * a 120 LB woman when she can easily be restrained.

Shelters for battered men? You should tell the men you know to grow a pair.

Yeah, my husband can hold both my hands with one of his.  I couldn't beat on him even if I wanted to

  6. I don't know if the suspension fit the infraction. That was a very disurbing video and I suspect that these are two not so great people.

As a professional, I would think that he would have a great deal more self discipline that what he evidenced in the video.

As far as him being entitled to knock her out.......if he did.  I don't buy that. Most guys that size can neutralize an assault from someone much smaller and weaker.  So, no he should not have done that.  I mean honestly...........what if he pulled a weapon out and used that on her claiming that he needed it to defend himself.........and unless she also had a weapon,I wouldn't buy that either.

If she's still with him........she's a fool.  Wouldn't be the first time a woman stayed with a violent man.....especially a rich and famous one.

    She survived this time.........that's good.

Anyone know what she's doing? Because if she's not pressing charges, not much that can be said or done.

    Whole thing is depressing

  7. lol You certainly don't hold back ever that's for sure.

Keep in mind....not everyone feels the same way we do about the bourgeois......so it's not always worth getting public over since the reactions are usually like what the replies to you were.

I don't think it's ever right to kick someone when they are down or to take shots at those who do not do the same.

Anger is not appropriate in this thread and the struggle of one family should not be made light of for any reason.

Perhaps if you had experience with this disease you would better understand.

I know nothing about this man and his family but I would not wish this disease on anyone.  Nor do a measure out my compassion depending on how much money they have.  Regardless of who they are.......this disease is terrible.

That's just being human........which we all are regardless of how much money we have. If you expect compassion.......you should also be capable of it.

Sorry but there was no reason to derail a thread like this with other issues.  We left the comment as well as all replies because we feel that the responses were appropriate and on target.

  8. Sad news, wishing the best to Bowlen and his family.

In reaction to some earlier posts, how much money you have or don't have doesn't make you more or less human. While it's indeed a tragedy that not every single person gets the medical treatment they need, that's not a reason to resent someone who does.

    Thank you

Alzheimers is not the way any of us wants to live our golden years.  It's cruel for all involved.
