  1. I don't know if you guys know this, but they have a 2 year old daughter together. This may explain the forgiveness on her part , and marriage . We can only hope this was an isolated incident, and Ray never does something like this again , for the sake of the family.

All the more reason to at least post pone the wedding

When you have a child to protect, it's not about you any more.  Children should not be exposed to violence like this........ever

I'm not keen on either of these people

  2. Everything Will Be Okay

    Great Job Mods

    Thanks for that

Two things that people need to remember

    (1) do not create duplicate game day threads

    (2) do not post messages to moderation or complain about moderation in the forums.

I'm more than a little irritated at the treatment out volunteers got from a few members last night

It's no pic nic keeping the boards organized when we have a game like this and there are always a few people who decide to make it worse.

  3. #1. Is not new , though. Teachers are on a code of conduct ; in some states, if arrested for a DUI, they can lose their job.

I actually think schools have no business extending their reach outside the classroom.  Some have school consequences for kids getting caught drinking off campus

I think that is the parents business and not the schools.

But, I can see them being concerned with DUI and other crimes by teachers.  They are molding young minds.  But I wonder how they get  their information?  Is it public record they are watching?

Schools need to be careful with their reach. There was a time when if a woman was visibly pregnant...........she had to stop teaching..........I guess seeing a pregnant woman was judged somehow harmful to kids in a school setting.

This business with employers getting into your private life is creepy

  4. Nadine, go here and out in street address and zip code.  See what FCC says about coverage strength-.

Then go here and see what type antenna mates to that reception characteristics-

Always make sure any antenna is mounted as high as possible, and away form reflective surfaces.  And price isn't commiserate to performance.  Two cheap ($35) indoor antennas pulled in the most stations in a consumer reports test recently.  But this one always gets high praise and accolades.  This version is a 50 mile amplified version, omnidirectional.  Might be worth a shot-

    Good luck.

Thank you! That's so much more than I was able to figure out on my own

  5. The truth hurts, doesn't it ?

Judging by the way you are digging your heals in in this thread, I'm guessing it does.

Early on in this thread you once again demanded an apology on our behalf. http://forums.colts.com/topic/30611-jim-irsay-suspended-6-games-fined-500k-updated-merged/?p=864400

You got it.  You should be done posting in this thread.

This should have been your last post on the topic

Look, he was dragged from a car and couldn't stand up. He couldn't even find his house that night, and put other drivers at risk. That deserved an immediate apology. I purposely didn't start any threads , and tried to stay off this thing. But you guys want me to eat some kind of crow for something the guy should have done long ago. Sorry , I don't buy it. Look , he apologized and I'm happy he did, if that is what you wanted. I wanted him to apologize, he did , I'm happy he did and took responsibility. The guy made a mistake, got punished , and apologized. I'm happy he took responsibility , instead of playing the victim.

Instead you are issuing condescending psychological analysis of colts fans

Unfortunately , what we have here , is a classic case of displaced aggression and blame. You can't bring yourself to accept your owner made a mistake, so it all happened because of the rantings of the Old Crow . The facts are what they are, and playing the blame game with me cannot alter that.

That post is a personal shot at colts fans and is against the board rules.  I realize you were called to answer for your excessive posting on this subject and in my opinion, you should have been.

But, it's over now and you should stop posting and certainly no more deflecting with armchair psychiatry.

If you cannot see why your belittling comments toward colts nation are baiting, that will be a problem for you moving forward.

  6. I understand now.  I guess I'm pretty spoiled being close to downtown.  I'm not really familiar with how far the signals travel.  Sorry for the misunderstanding.

My daughter lives in the city and can't get cbs

I don't know what the deal with their signal is

I'm told their antenna is south of the city

I gave up because I figured I needed an outdoor antenna. I have a friend that got one and connected it to her cat wiring. Now she gets all the free channels on all her tvs , even the one in her basement

  7. Not sure why you think that you cannot get channel 8 (WISH-TV, current Indy CBS affiliate) with an antenna?  I only have over the air television and get all of the digital versions channel 8 just fine.  I also get the channel 23 stations which are also part of WISH.

    Because I tried

Antenna could see cbs but it seemed the signal was not strong enough for a picture

    I just tried indoor antennas

  8. I use over the air antenna and picked up channel 8 for the saints game, that is with a home made indoor antenna, an outside one should get it with no problem. I live about an hour north of Indy.

I tried and returned 2 antennas

They picked up every station except cbs

If there is an antenna that picks it up id like to know which one

  9. It's a money making machine...and well no-one brings in the dollars like Peyton. Its part of why he gets a bad rep....people don't like him because they think the NFL created him entirely for publicity or he likes the limelight. Actually the exact opposite is more true. I'm sure he would love to not have the Manning Bowl, Brady vs Manning, Manning vs Colts but the NFL has to sell advertising and we all know he is one of the few stars you can sell off of name alone....much less a lop sided rivalry or a former team that cut him. I imagine Peyton is glad this is week 1. Get it over...there are tons of stories in week 1 so having this in the midst of the week 1 energy kinda lets it go under the radar...so really this is the best case scenerio. I've heard MUCH less about this story than last years game or the yearly Brady vs Manning game.

    I guess

Maybe we won't play the broncos next year......and it won't be week one after they've been in a superbowl and it's SNF for crying out loud

They're just trying to rile up broncos and colts fans alike

    tired of it

  10. I see a lot of other people on ESPN and Yahoo commenting that they should have fined him more, banned him for a year and only come back after when he is clean, and also taking picks.  The counter argument to the pick thing is why do that when it hurts the team and the fans more.  However a compelling counter argument to that is that when you suspend players for the exact same thing you are hurting the team more than you are the player. Take Josh Gordon for example.  he did drugs, got arrested, and he is banned for a year.  Sure its going to hurt him, especially in the pocket, but its really going to hurt the team just as much.  Without him their season could basically be shot.  Now there is a plus to that and that i getting a top draft pick next year.

I don't think you should equate owners with players

Players do not pay owners while the reverse is true

I think players have a lot of restrictions on what they can and cannot do with their bodies..........down to what they eat and how they excercise, they've got demands on their time that they must comply with  all as part of their contract.........not so for owners

just saying it's not the same
