most memorable moment in concert history for me & yes it wasnt the greatful dead who saw good 400 times and yet this was more memorable moment

1970  Stonybrook University GYM- sat right side of stage somewhat in front 0f it  ) no behind seats there

10=15 feet behind me was monstrous speaker

who doing Tommy  - suddenly Pete Townshend jumps up and strums guitar as screeching high pitched voice yells what seemed to be right into my ears HY MY NAME IS UNCLE ERNIE - they are still ringing

  3. I miss our talks, hope you are well.  I thought I would share some Alternative with you...hope you don't mind?

Gotta catch the train for the prisoners in San Quentin now...

Perhaps, it was just time to cut ties with Delia one way or another...

No, I am not condoning violence against anyone just to be clear, but I do like this number.

I will add more songs to this set list later. I promise.

PS "Hurt" is one of BrentMc11's favorite Johnny tracks too. A song that never gets old.

I lost two Friends who loved this song to Heroin................they loved this song and obviously had issues....but hey were my Friends regardless.  We choose our Friends and I am thankful you are mine.

I understand what you are saying. I baby sat one of my best friends when he decided to do heroin and thought I was going to lose him more than once. He finally got straight after a few years and has done great for quite a long time now. Sorry to hear you lost a couple of friends due to that. Gone but never forgotten. Good friends are hard to come by and I appreciate your friendship for sure. Take care.

Hard to believe that James Taylor was once married to Carly Simon. I say that because I hate the song "You're So Vain" & radio stations play that song way too much IMO.

Checkout Amanda Brown laying down a Chris Cornell classic @RustonRifle#7:

This cover gives me goosebumps man. The brass section, the beautiful tribute to the legend, & women getting their grove on always makes me smile. :D

Plus, I was in both band & chorus in school so, I know how hard it is to pull this track off & sound polished. Amazing!

The Who, whom are my favorite, always tested the waters with different musical genres.....I like this!  I appreciate uniqueness and originality....it is so lost on today's micro feed world.  I appreciate you Brother as you are unique....hence, why you are my friend!

I wasn't sure where to put this so, I decided to drop it here. Some rockin' with Dokken classic "Unchain the Night" high caliber cover material...

For @TheRustonRifle#7, @Lollygagger8, @malakai432 or anyone else who grew up on this band. The guitarist Rocco Pezzin replicates George Lynch's tones to perfection IMHO. Superb job!

One of the best power ballads ever bleeping recorded man. Queensryche is such a superb band with intricate musical arrangements. I always think of cigarette lighters & tiny flames swaying in the crowd whenever I hear that timeless track.

I miss that. Lighters vs people recording concerts on their cell phones now. Can't they just soak up the ambiance & enjoy the moment? Sigh. Why even buy the ticket & drive to the venue if a person refuses to enjoy their surroundings?

I know Jules, Bogie, RR7, & CBE know what I'm talkin' bout. LOL!

The man of few words has this to say.....this song I sang with my Late Father.  It epitomizes everything that I wish I could go back and do all over again.  Of Course I would make subtle changes.....that is why I am awake on my day off at 5:30ish, so I can spend those precious times with my Daughter  Be well my Friend..

The man of few words has so much good to share. When he does speak, his words resonate with many. Thanks for sharing that with me.

Any daughter would want you for a father. Enjoy your time with yours. It means a lot to her. Give her an extra hug for me.

Thank you immensely. I'll remember that generosity on you're behalf when circumstances call for me to do so brother. :hat:

As corny as it sounds, I appreciate kind people like yourself, GFB, Gramz, Brent, Jay Kirk, & Bogie who have a vast treasure trove of musical knowledge across numerous genres etc. etc. Music & movies are my decompression chamber away from the daily rigors of life.

Football isn't my top priority at the moment. My mom's recovery & family are naturally.

Love Jimmy Page brother. :hat: He is so gifted strumming on guitar. That man can play anything. Plus, Jimmy has aged quite gracefully. He looks so darn cool with a ponytail too. Robert Plant can still carry a nice tune as well.

Silent Lucidity is such a beautiful song. One of the greatest power ballads ever written RR7. I always think of high school proms, weddings, & evaporating virginity every single time I hear that epic number.

Excuse me, while I sway with my bic lighter & I don't even light up bro. haha

Thanks for the shout out RR7!  Since Mr. Vai was on your brain, here ya go...

"That's Steve Vai. What a nice little boy." Wha Wha...

I really enjoyed this collaboration with David Coverdale that still holds up well even in 2018.

A top tier power ballad that Vai was vital on while touring with WS in the 90's man.

I love how David elongates or stretches out the words "emotion" & "devotion". Good stuff.

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

I wasn't sure where to put this. Yes, I know it's not Steve Vai related. However, despite that fact, I wanted you to see a well done instrumental treatment of "I Was Made For Lovin' You" by some talented Russian musicians. Women can most certainly bring the house down.

The face paint was pretty cool. I especially liked Ace Frehley's makeup job. And of course, drummer Peter Criss as the cat. This time on keyboard in this version. Paul Stanley's star was a nice touch too.

Folks from Mother Russia specialize in caviar, vodka, & timeless Rock N Roll baby. Oh Yeah. The production value is stellar & off the chain IMHO.

      Great selection RR7! Amen.

I respect individuals like yourself who view metal as an artistic artform rather than merely diss-ing it as a worthy genre to listen to frequently.

Too many critics think metal is just loud amps, shouting, & grunting, but what they fail to grasp is that the best metal bands know how to harmonize, use clever hooks, & deploy complicated drum solos, guitar riffs, & intricate bridges throughout.

      You get it man. Thanks.

Speaking of Zeppelin Barry, I love that line in 'Ramble On' where Plant sings the line: "T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair. But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her, her, her....yeah."

I'm a huge JRR Tolkien fan ever since I read his book trilogies--The Hobbit & Lord Of The Rings.
