  1. To follow this up, that Bills core went to 4 straight SB's from 1990-1993 led by QB Jim Kelly who is in the Hall of Fame. That team also had Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, and Bruce Smith. All are in the Hall of Fame as well!
  2. This Alcaraz kid is amazing! I grew up watching Tennis = players like Borg, McEnroe, Sampras, and of course Nadal and Ferderer, Djokovic now. When it is all said and done, this kid my be the best of all-time. It is way too early to tell but if he can play at an elite level for the next 10 years, who knows?
  3. I have the Vikings making the playoffs at 10-7 despite losing Cook. Kirk and Jefferson are a great 1-2 punch. Kirk is a good QB and Jefferson may be the best WR in the league. They won't be 13-4 again IMO but they will squeeze in. Other teams not to make the SB since the 1990 season: Jets Dolphins Texans Jags Browns Raiders -I am assuming you are talking about NFC teams that haven't made the SB since the 90's started. That stat is wild, only Vikings and Lions! Vikings did make the NFC Championship in 1998 at 15-1. Going by since the 1990 season, my top 5 teams/franchises that have failed to win a Super Bowl are: 5. 1999 Tennessee Titans - Lost to the greatest show on turf in the SB. 1 yard short! 4. 2015 Carolina Panthers - Very good all-around team. Cam Newton's best season ever. They also had a great defense. They went 15-1 during the regular season. 3. 1998 Minnesota Vikings - Moss, Carter, Reed, Smith, John Randle, Cunningham was still an above average QB even though older. Team was loaded. They got beat by a Falcons team that did not make this list in the NFC Championship Game 30-27 in OT. If the Vikings played that Falcons team 10 times in the same situation, Vikings would beat them 8 times IMO. Vikings could've easily been 16-0 that season. Their only loss was a 3 point loss to the Tampa Bucs. They finished 15-1. Your Vikings are 3rd on this list. The Falcons went on to get blown out by the Denver Broncos, what a waste. I wanted to Vikings vs Broncos, that would have been a shootout! 2. 2016 Atlanta Falcons - Matt Ryan's year, they smoked Aaron Rodgers and the GB Packers in the NFC Championship and had the NE Patriots down 28-3 in the SB. Pats took it away from them with a huge comeback to win 34-28 in OT. 1. 1990 Buffalo Bills - Wide right! Lose to the Giants in the SB 20-19. That Bills team was loaded.
  4. My over/under for the Colts is set at 7.5 wins. I think the Colts win 8 so I went over. They could easily only win 6 or 7 though, thoughts? This season is tough to pick from a lot of aspects. One reason why I picked quite of few surprises.
  5. I will add to this, we are still only 2.5 games behind the Brewers in the NL Central. Brewers are 65-56. We could still win the division.
  6. That was frustrating for 8 innings. Morel walked it off in the 9th. Huge much needed win. Final WC spot race: Cubs 62-58 Marlins 63-59 Reds 63-59 Cubs have it by a %point. Day off tomorrow.
  7. I know I have a lot of them. I just see a lot of parity in the league right now and studied the teams schedules which I do every year before picking. Other than the Chiefs, nobody else is great to me and Repeating is almost impossible. Hasn't been done since 2004.
  8. McCaffrey is sitting somewhere right now, thinking the Football Gods and he is probably laughing his rear off.
  9. Players getting extensions with 1 year left on their deal happens a lot. Technically he could just shut up and play and wait until the season ends to get a deal but I could say that about 100's of other players and Taylor is a great player. It isn't like Taylor is in the middle of a huge 5 year deal and after year 2 he is moaning about his contract.
  10. The surgery he had was an ankle procedure done back in January that takes 2 months to heal.
  11. If Taylor agrees to that, I would hope nobody in here would ever say another bad word about him because that is steal for us.
  12. What I keep trying to explain to people, you can go RB committee if you have an all-time great QB. Hurts is great but isn't even a top 50 QB of all-time, he has a ways to go before that. Give anyone Brady, Montana, Manning, Elway, Rodgers, Brees, Mahomes and one could have RB's that are just above average to good at times. Some say teams with RB by committee has won SB's over the last 9 years, no kidding - look at the QB's that won. Brady has won 4 of those, Mahomes 2 of those, and Manning 1 of those. In 2013, without Lynch, Seattle doesn't win a SB or get 2 straight SB's and Wilson was a great QB.
  13. I guess McCaffrey making 16 Million a year which is a lot more than 13 is red hot water over boiling then.
  14. That other team has arguably a top 5 QB of all-time and a top 10 Coach of all-time.
  15. Here they are, my 2023 NFL picks. I usually do them last week of August after Pre-Season but close enough. What is everyone else's picks. There is no right or wrong picks here. It is all opinion; I could get a lot wrong here but I will take a stab at it. My AFC Division winners: West = Chiefs 13-4 (1st) North = Ravens 12-5 (2nd) East = Jets 11-6 (3rd) South = Jags 10-7 (4th) Wild Cards = Bengals 10-7, Bills 10-7, Dolphins 10-7 AFC Championship Game = Ravens at Chiefs, I have the Ravens winning the AFC! I have a lot of BOLD predictions here as you can see. 2 more BOLD ones, Colts will go 8-8-1. They won't finish below .500. Chargers will miss the playoffs and their Coach will get fired. Regarding the Bengals, Burrow's injury is a concern. That will be interesting to follow. My NFC Division winners: East = Eagles 13-4 (1st) North = Lions 12-5 (2nd) West = 49ers 11-6 (3rd) South = Panthers 9-8 (4th), Saints will be 9-8 too but Panthers get the tiebreaker. Wild Cards = Cowboys 11-6, Vikings 10-7, Seahawks 10-7 I have the Bucs (no Brady) and the Giants missing the playoffs, they made it last year. Daniel Jones is MEH IMO. NFC Championship Game = Lions at Eagles. Here it goes - I have the Lions winning the NFC! Super Bowl = Ravens vs Lions. My 2023 SB Champion is the Ravens.
  16. Let me ask you a question and be honest, do you think Philly wins the SB if they had JT instead of their RB committee? We are talking 2021 healthy JT who was a scary presence you had to account for on every play.
  17. It really just boils down to what people think is an overpay on how they feel about extending JT. Some have different opinions on it. I personally wouldn't pay him more than 13 Mill a year/but would pay him 13, and it would only be for 3 years which equals out to 39 Mill. Maybe 25 Mill guaranteed and to me that is a hell of a contract for a RB with the way things are going for RB's. Paying him for only 3 years locks him up through his prime. He is only 24, still has great speed, and is a great HR hitter. He is a great guy off the field as well, does a lot for the community. Some people may think 13 mill is an overpay (I don't), that is their opinion.
  18. All 3 teams lost tonight = Cubs, Reds, Marlins. Cubs are still a game behind the Marlins for that final playoff WC spot. Cubs and Reds are tied. Marlins 63-58 Cubs 61-58 Reds 62-59
  19. What we have to watch for is a team like the Padres getting hot, they have underachieved all year. They are 56-61 right now. So they aren't totally out of it. They were my pick to win the NL before the season. They are talented enough to go on a run of like maybe 28-17 or so over the last 45 games. If they do that, they would finish 84-78.
  20. @RollerColt MLB currently has the Brewers winning the NL Central at a 40% clip now, Cubs and Reds still have a favorable shot though according to them. Cubs are at 32%, Reds are at 28%.
  21. @RollerColt I honestly think between the Cubs, Reds, and Marlins - those team are even. One day they all are good enough to beat the Braves, but then turn around and lose to teams like the Pirates or Mets . These are just my non-biased projections, not MLB projections but if I had to put a % on who gets the final playoff spot it would go: Cubs 35% Reds 33% Marlins 32% =100% of the vote, that is how close it is IMO. I favor the Cubs only because their schedule is easier compared to the other teams but that still may not matter. Cubs just lost 2 of 3 to the Mets before the Jays series. Mets are like 10 games below .500. We need a Marlins loss today as your Reds and my Cubs have an off day.
  22. Cubs did a magnificent job taking 2 of 3 from the Blue Jays which keeps us on pace for a playoff spot at worse. Marlins got lucky yesterday and pulled off a miracle. So we are a half game behind them right now but I feel good about the next 2 weeks: Cubs schedule starting Tuesday: August 15th-27th White Sox White Sox DAY OFF on Thursday Royals Royals Royals at Tigers at Tigers at Tigers at Pirates at Pirates at Pirates at Pirates Although road games are never easy, we should at worse go 8-4 in this stretch - double our wins. That would put us at 69-61. The reasonable goal I would set here is 9-3, if we can be 70-60 after this stretch, we should make the playoffs unless we collapse, or the Reds and Marlins just keep winning every night. Marlins start a 3 game set with the Astros tonight, good luck with that Marlins are 62-57 Cubs are 61-57 Reds are 61-58 -screw the Brewers at this point, they can even have the Division, only thing they will ever win anyway is Division Championships. If they win the Division and we finish 6th. They would be our first round opponent = best of 3 in the Wild Card Round. I love my chances against those lucky clowns.
