  1. Agreed. And based on what we’ve seen in the other skill positions, we’re gonna need a lot of help and that’s gonna cost us money we can’t afford on a maybe healthy/scheme RB.
  2. And of Taylor isn’t his old self? And what if he doesn’t fit Steichen’s scheme? Again, we have too many gaps needing filled to unnecessarily spend money on a risk if we don’t have to. This is one game. We’ve got a talent in AR. The worst thing we can do is not surround him with players unless we know he’s 100% (which he is unwilling to show us at this point) OR he will be in Steichen’s long term plan for the team.
  3. We already know we’re gonna need more firepower on offense. Do we really want to take a hit to the cap for a player that may not even fit into the scheme? I wanted to win today too but not at the cost of our long term success.
  4. Absolutely better than most would have predicted given the experience up to that point.
  5. Potentially. It all depends on the cost, as it always has. Is losing one game where Taylor COULD have made a difference enough to justify the hit to our cap when we have so many other offensive needs?
  6. I liked what I saw overall. Not a lot of passes in stride but that could be the WRs not being very good (Pitt was quiet good today though). The pick wasn’t good but as many have pointed out, first game in the NFL. Should be exciting to see him develop and where his ceiling is.
  7. Ok. In reality though, that didn’t happen.
  8. Never said any of that. My issue is acting like giving up 31 points is a good thing, which it is not. We can have all kinds of excuses but 31 isn’t going to win games especially with our offense playing this way.
  9. What was the number then? Thats right you don’t know and just making stuff up. Miami GM said no offer was made
  10. I’ll say it again, 17 snaps in the fourth, they gave up 14 points. You cannot give up 14 points in the fourth and act like “oh but they tried real hard”. Offense has to do better too.
  11. Agreed it wasn’t wrinkle but to act like they played great, you have to acknowledge the fall at the finish line. Great defenses finish games.
  12. 17 actual snaps, 14 points. Thats not finishing the game. That’s not good.
  13. They played 17 snaps in the fourth (19 if you count the two kneels). They gave up 14 points. Understand short fields but that is NOT good defense. Other teams have offensive struggles similar to us but give up far fewer points.
  14. So because one team was willing to “allegedly” pay him 16mil we should too?
  15. So 31 points is a good thing? 14 in the fourth is a good thing?
  16. Understood, but those series did happen. Almost doesn’t count in this league. Gotta finish the games.
  17. Yep, if we give up 31 points all season we’ll crush it!!!
  18. He’s coming off of a surgery, in a new scheme, with a new coach who isn’t know to use feature backs, committed to playing out his contract then backed out of it. He’s not trustworthy or even reliably healthy at this point that we’ve seen. We aren’t winning the superbowl. We should/will pay him what the market bears, nothing more.
  19. Other teams don’t seem to have this issue like we do though. Not saying it isn’t a reason for it, but when it happens quite often I think we need to put some blame on the players too.
  20. I think the best argument would be number of targets compared to the others. Definitely may hurt his chances outside of Indy.
  21. Why? Even with a healthy Taylor, we likely aren’t going to win anything significant. Then all we’ve done is show other players if they pull stunts like this they can get what they want. I’d rather give Pittman an extension instead and tell Taylor the tag is coming.
  22. I’m not sanguine with the defense. We were 28 last year in points allowed. I know having an offense helps but there were other teams who had low producing offenses that gave up less per game last year (see Denver, Rams, Steelers for example).
