@VikingsFanInChennaii Did you see the post about the most overlooked prospect?? It was about a guy that was drafted by the Vikes. It seems that every year The Athletic does a feature on a player who seems not to get attention that the author believes the prospect deserves. The Vikes drafted this year's most overlooked player. I posted a link yesterday.

Thanks. I think the thing with Penix is, they are shocked that Atlanta picked him because they have Cousins. Not because Penix isn't a 1st round pick. IMO, had Penix not been taken by Atlanta, I would find it hard to believe the Broncos would have passed on him. They drafted Nix at 12, that pick would have been Penix, still making Penix a top 12 pick. Penix without debate is better than Nix.
One of those guys, Nate Tice, said that Penix was 7th on his list, after Spencer Rattler. In the other podcast, he said that Rattler and Nix had traits/skills that translate to the NFL. He did not think Penix did. I think he is very surprised Penix went that earlier because in the previous podcast, he said he saw Penix as a Day 3 guy.

I heard he had a phenomenal 2022 season, but in 2023 it looked like he didn't give any effort at all. I'm guessing there's more to it than that and there are some off-field issues.
He'll likely get picked up as an UDFA and if not teams have definitely dug up something about him they don't like at all.
From the Athletic, he was picked up by the Jets:
Quote155. Leonard Taylor III, DT, Miami (6-3, 303)
Taylor doesn’t lack for talent, but the raw physical tools aren’t enough and won’t deliver consistent on-field production until he develops a more disciplined approach. While there is untapped potential there, it will require a patient coaching staff and complete buy-in from the player for him to work his way into an NFL rotation.
(Update: Taylor reportedly has signed with the New York Jets.)

My comment was originally in a poll that got merged into here somehow. It was a joke poll so don't know why it went to the Ballard grievance thread.
Ah. Okay. Thank you for replying. I understand now.

Who is Player X?
QuoteI spent the last two months searching for the most overlooked prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft. After canvassing scouts, tracking the results of pro day workouts, watching tape and strategizing like a general manager, I picked a player I believe is the draft’s best-kept secret: a small school prospect with no combine invite and no top-three all-star game appearance but a good shot to get drafted.

It does not look real. It looks more like when someone is branded and the mark is permanent. Maybe he sees himself forever a Colt.
