I love how he calls Tony Romo a "proven winner." He has 1 playoff win in his entire career, Luck had that by season 2.

Lol. He called Carr "a proven winner" but this was Carr's first season with a winning record. Carr has also not won a playoff game. Carr is a "rising star" (Tier 3) and Luck is a proven winner (Tier 2).

What was also odd was that LaCanfora wrote that he thought to put Cousins in Tier 2 but then has him in Tier 4. (Quote: "I went back and forth with putting Cousins in the second tier after a second-straight franchise record season with the Redskins")

Cousins should be in the "rising star" category (Tier 3), not Tier 4.

In no way am I a pro athlete so I wouldnt heal the same, but I can say this.. they took an artery out of my left arm for bypass surgery and damaged the radial nerve doing so.  Almost a year and a half later I still have feeling, pain and other nerve issues in my arm, hand and thumb.  It is better, but far from the same.

I am only trying to say that nerve damage takes forever to repair itself if it even happens.

Thanks for sharing that. I am sorry to hear that for you and for Floyd. Hope you're doing a lot better overall.

Yes, this is bad news for Floyd.  but his surgery was recent, and his issue was eventually found.  Now he has a nerve issue that may end his career. I feel bad for him.  Not so much for DJ.

For Jordan, he hurt himself (needing two surgeries) in 2015 while he was out for a whole year for violating the substance abuse policy (which in and of itself means he has violated it many multiple times). And he missed all of 2016. And has recorded just 3 sacks in 4 years.

Now, after whole off season, he failed his medical check and it toally out of shape.

    "

Jordan, who turned 27 earlier this month, started just one game during his four-year tenure in Miami. The former third overall pick will go down as one of the bigger draft busts in recent memory.

It falls in line with previous reports. Jordan has been having off-field issues and isn't close to being in football shape, ballooning to 275-pounds after missing the last two years with injuries/suspensions. Miami can save $3.2 million from releasing Jordan.

Okay. Thank you for elaborating on that. Too bad for the Dolphins.

It is sad to hear that Floyd's career may be over. I really liked him. When he was healthy, he was a top player for us. Now, DT becomes a major need for us.

  4. 1 hour ago, ColtsBlueFL said:

Dude appears he doesn't want to play, and he can't pass a physical after a full off season.  Biggest bust in Dolphins draft history-

I don't know if this is true, but we have no way of knowing this unless Dion Jordan says he does not want to play.

This week, many Vikes fans have been eating their words about Sharrif Floyd, Vikes DT. He was accused of anything from feigning injury to not trying hard enough to play to not wanting to play football again. Fans were very critical of him until he posted a cryptic message on Instagram, asking to give him one more chance to continue his career. Then USA Today reporter Tom Pelissero shared this:

"The nerve that controls Floyd's quadriceps was disrupted during surgery in September to clean up the meniscus in his right knee, and nearly six months later, the quad still isn't firing, people with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports."

It is not that he did not want to play but he is unable to play. So, I give players the benefit of the doubt. Most want to play.

Hard to say honestly. But if your dumb enough as a married man worth millions to take a drunk woman back to your room whether it was consensual or not you are asking for trouble. He could have called her a cab or bought her own separate room yet he choose to spend the night with her. Not a smart move nor one my wife would be ok with but maybe his marriage is different from mine. Can't believe in this day an age these guys are stupid enough to take a stranger to a hotel room.

Lol. I don't know any married woman who would be okay with that. Your wife is not alone there.

I agree with you. It is not like Irvin is a 20-year-old who is not aware of the potential consequences of taking a woman who is not his wife/significant other to his hotel room. He has been accused of sexual assault in the past. Why take that risk?

And for the woman... What does she expect to happen when she goes to his hotel room? Why go there? Smh.

My first thought scanning through the lists was that I was surprised that Rivers didn't make anybody's list.  I figured he would sneak in at the #5 spot for somebody.  Then I had to go back and pay a little more attention to see that he at least got mentioned.  Even Eli got mentioned, and he was terrible last year.  First time that I've ever thought that Eli was truly a liability to the Giants.

Rivers is one of my favorite QBs all time. I have liked him since he was at NC State. Too bad he never won a Super Bowl; that could keep.him out of the Hall of Fame. I think Rivers is a better QB than Eli but Eli has the rings. Eli may win another one -- Giant are looking good for next year.

He's important to the steelers, but when's the last time Ben had to have an unreal stellar game for Pittsburgh to have a shot to win? He's got bell and brown and an improving defense.

His presence is huge no doubt. Usually, when he's there, they win. When he's not, they lose. But he doesn't carry his team the way Luck, Brees and Wilson do.

I appreciate that you believe that Wilson carries his team because most people believe the defense carries the Seahawks. I like Wilson.

Roethlisberger is one of the most underrated quarterbacks. You say that he has Bell and Brown. Is Brown that much better than TY Hilton? And he has not had Bell for much of the past two years (injured, suspended). I would take Gore over Bell's backup D'Angelo Williams. My point is, how is Luck carrying the team and Roethlisberger is not? Defensively, yes, the Steelers are better but you did not hold other QBs' defenses against them when ranking the other QBs.

Roethlisberger is a first ballot Hall of Famer. He is still playing like a top player.

    Yes I'm Biased.

    1. Aaron Rodgers

    2. Drew Brees.

    3. Tom Brady

    4. Andrew Luck

    5. Russell Wilson

Similar to Cam, Matt had one really great season last year. He's still a really good QB, top 10 for sure but I'm not gonna put him top 5. After 2015, everyone had Cam as a top 2 QB. Same with Matt this time. I don't think he'll be as good statistically next year.

And Ben doesn't carry his team the way Andrew and lately Russell have.

Are you serious about Ben? How many games have they won with Landry Jones?

    1) Aaron Rodgers (hate to say but true)

    2) Tom Brady (another one I am not crazy about

    3) Ben Roethlisberger

    4) Andrew Luck

    5) Russell Wilson

(Love Phillips Rivers but I am afraid he is on the decline.)

oh my bad. well in that case...

    1. Aron Rogers

    2. Russell Wilson

    3. Drew Brees

    4. Tom Brady

    5. Andrew Luck

I like your list. However, you did not have Wilson at all in your first list but now he is second on your revised list. What changed?

    Your first list:

    1. Peyton Manning (Because he won a super bowl with two different teams

    2. Aron Rogers

    3. Drew Brees

    4. Tom Brady (Even though he has all them rings i don't think he would do well on a different team)

    5. Andrew Luck (The Future star of the NFL)

First, I am not sure why you are quoting a different poster to comment on my argument.

I actually wasn't the one who said that, that was Vocab's Post. Not sure why it has me quoting that. Please Scroll up and see you replied to the wrong person.

I don't think he did that purposely. I have seen that happen at other times, including once with me. It's some kind of computer glitch.

As for the original question, it is too early for Luck to be Marino as in "No Super Bowl Championships". Luck has at least 10 more years to bring a SB to Indy.

As for the Stafford comparison, I don't see why that should upset anyone. It is not like being compared to Tim Couch or Sam Bradford. Stafford this year did play a lot like Luck has, bringing his team from behind several times as Luck has done.  While I prefer Luck over Stafford, I would take Stafford on my own team any day.

I thought Pocic played mostly center (and at times guard). You have him listed with the other offensive linemen. Where would you rank him if he is being drafted as a center?

Thanks for the list of rankings.

Lol and? Still preposterous to think the Colts would take Jones at 15. Sorry but it was silly.

Not hating. It's just simply dumb to think we'd take Sidney at #15 now.

We all know he won't be selected at #15. Okay. We hear you.

Someone is going to get a good player in Sidney Jones. He is worth the risk in the mid rounds.

  13. 42 minutes ago, Majin Vegeta said:

It's just a silly question. We're not a team that has the luxury of using a 1st(or 2nd imo) on a guy who won't even see the field in year 1. I wanted him at 15 before his injury and now I know we aren't gonna get him at all. Sucks.

I don't think it is a silly question at all. It stimulates discussion.

Today, on a Vikings site I posed a question that one might describe as "silly". I asked whether we would consider trading Xavier Rhodes to the Saints for their #11 pick, as the Vikes have no first round pick and the draft is deep at the CB position. Also, Xavier is going into his contract year and will command lots of money. The "silly" question generated lots of discussion. At least 75% of us wrote we would not do it, myself included.

Drafting Sidney Jones was also a topic today. Coach Zimmer recently said he will draft a CB if one he likes is available. Our fans would be willing to draft Jones in the 3rd or 4th Rd where we have 2 picks/rd.

The Colts will have plenty of opportunities to draft a top CB this year.

  14. 1 -- Giants guaranteed money, fewer years ($600,000 guaranteed for 2 years); opportunity to win now; career opportunities in NY/NJ when football career ends

1a -- Browns -- most guaranteed money; opportunity to play, as this is a rebuilding team

3 -- Colts -- save money by being at home; good chance to make playoffs every year.

4 -- 49ers -- not enough money, very little opportunity to win now. But you have an opportunity to play (rebuilding)

5 --  Seahawks -- very little money; no guarantee that you will win. You may not play.

I've been hearing that if the Saints offered Butler a nice contract and the Pats don't match, then the Saints would have to surrender not their 32nd pick, but their 11th overall pick!! Why in the world would you give up that high of a pick for a 28 year old corner who I think is more a product of that New England system. If this actually happens the Pats are by far and away the luckiest franchise in history.

It would not be a good move for the Saints. Why sign Malcolm Butler when Seattle is open to trading a better player (Sherman) who may not command so much to acquire him? Also, the Saints could draft one of the top CBs in this draft at #11. This does not make sense.

Maybe the Vikes should trade Xavier Rhodes for that 11th pick...  Nah

@NFLfan, What are your thoughts on this?

It does not excite me too much, but Murray can't be worse than what we had last year. It is a team-friendly deal. If he does not work out, we can let Murray go after one year and it won't hurt us.

ColtsBlueFL wrote in another thread that he thought it was a good signing for the Vikes. Murray averaged 4.3 yd/carry and he is a pretty good pass blocker.

I think we will draft a RB.

I am not excited about any of our free agent pick-ups but we did address our OL issues by signing two average OTs  (Reilly Reif and Remmers). I was really hoping to get Andrew Whitworth. :( Many of our free agents signed with other teams, but the only one I was disappointed to lose was Captain Munnerlyn.
