    Very true.

Reitz, he's just behind Kalil in pressures allowed... ;-)

And now, on top of it all, there are reports Sharrif Floyd had a menisectomy (likely partial - meniscus trim) on his knee.  That would be 3-4 weeks recovery minimum, with potential for up to 6. Dr. James Andrews performed this at the Andrews Institute in Pensacola, FL.

Yes, I was aware of Floyd's surgery. Our D-line is playing well and we are deep there. The backups Tom Johnson (former Colt) and Shamar Stephen have played well.

Kalil was playing poorly but  unfortunately our backups may be worse. The line is a mess.

    Re: Dr. Andrews

I thought he was with the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. Is he in Florida full-time now?

Sorry about this news, it's bad enough you lose Teddy and now this. Vikings still have a Good team and are well Coached so making the Playoffs isn't out of the question. It's nice being 2-0 as well.

Your relative who is a Vikes fan must be devastated. Most of us, however, don't have that sense of doom and gloom that others would expect. We prefer having AD but we believe that the offense will be less predictable now that he is out. We like our backup RBs (Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata) although I am not a fan of the Hillman signing. I don't like signing too many new players. I would have preferred going with CJ Ham or Jhurell Pressley, 2 guys who were in training camp with us.

Replacing the LT is more problematic. Kalil was pretty bad but he was better than anyone else we have. We will play TJ Clemmings but he will need a lot of help. We don't have anyone else.... Can you spare one of your OTs? ;)

Sorry for the loss, after covering for the Bridgewater saga too.  My inclination was that a scope showed a tear too long to trim satisfactorily, and/or maybe some undesired and unexpected extras as well.  Thus a possible discussion with AP to not take shortcuts that may not be as early as effective as hoped.  His long term prognosis is much better this way in any event; when he returns and in the future (advanced age arthritis concerns).

    Additions EDIT:

After researching, have found that AP suffered a Bucket Handle meniscus tear, something I felt might have been but hoped wasn't when AP's knee was 'locked' in a bent position after the injury.  I gues it was found there was indeed additional damage in that his Lateral Collateral Ligament was damaged as well.

Hoping this surgery goes well, but recovery time may prevent him to play anymore this year.  He is owed 6 million roster bonus next Mar. 9, and a total of up to 18 mil next year.  If cut before Mar 9, no penalty to Vikings at all.

Thank you for this.  If AD does not play again this year, he may have played his last game with the Vikes. Matt Kalil may also be a goner. He was placed on IR today. We won't re-sign him. I am pretty sure that they were the highest paid players on our team before the Bradford trade.

There are too many injuries; I hope it does not hurt us too much.

As of this moment, that is not a certainty. A scope from the Doc and discussion with AD will decide course of action.  Nothing done, could play immediately... unless / until knee locks again.  Trim, 3 - 4-weeks.  Full surgical repair, > 9 - 12 weeks

Peterson has opted to have surgery and is expected to miss a few months.

Sam not familiar with vertical attack, Norv not familiar with Bradford.  Yet, they pull it off.  Wait and see them grow together.  That will keep the "tape" from catching up to them too soon.

It's early, but I've never been a Debbie Downer on Sam Bradford.

One thing I like about Sam is that he does not get rattled. He seemed calm out there.

I know a lot of people criticized the trade, but it looks brilliant right now. He's got weapons on offense and a spectacular defense to fall back on too. The Vikes' season is clearly not lost as everyone assumed.

We could not waste a year of these players' careers with Shaun Hill at QB.  I supported the trade although I would have preferred to keep the first round pick.

BTW, if Miami continues to lose, we will have their early picks in the 3rd and 4th rounds next year. Perhaps we can package them for a first rounder if needed.

This Vikings defense is ridiculous man. This is what happens when you put together some great drafts. They are playing without their best corner and still have the lead with a quarterback they have had for a week and no AP. Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks are some beasts.

Watch out for Hunter. He could be the best of all in the front seven. And he is only 21 years old.

Congrats! Maybe Bradford can finally put all that potential to use this year. This was a big win tonight in his first start.

This is probably the best team he has played on. Hope this continues.

Let's hope AP dies not miss too much time, but I have confidence in our backups.

Luck had a chance to win this. Can't ask for more. I think a healthy defense we could have won this game. I think we are the better team.

This reminds me a lot of the end of the Vikes game at Denver last year. Miller stripped Teddy and the game was over. We lost 23-20.

Considering all the injuries, the Colts hung in there. You want to win  of course but the Colts played respectfully. They don't have to hang their heads.

    The officiating has been awful.

Smith didn't just all of a sudden become a bad QB today. He just played against a top five defense. The same goes for Brock. He wasn't great but he did enough on offense, along with Miller, to get the win.

I'm not looking forward to playing you guys. I will be at the new stadium for that game. Can't wait! It will be my first in MN.  My cousin who lives there wants me to visit every year.

I saw the last few minutes. It was a penalty by rule but it was ticky tack. Then the Jags can't even get 1 yard with 2 chances, and it wasn't even at the goal line. Then they call a WR screen on 4th and 1 wth. Meanwhile the Saints beat the Raiders so the 2 most overrated NFC teams of the century have beat the 2 worst teams of the last decade. That should be enough to get them in the NFCCG in all the prediction threads as usual lol!

I don't think the Saints won.

15 years ago at 8:45 am, the first plane hit the North tower, and was the beginning of a tragic day for America. In all, 2,996 died and 6000 more injured. Hundreds more have died since that day due to illnesses associated with the recovery effort. Thousands are still dealing with illnesses, both physically and mentally. Thousands of members of our Military, as well as other countries Militaries have also died or forever been changed due to that day. Thousands of families, including those who were caught in the crossfire have been forever changed.

    I will NEVER forget.

Very well said. I too will never forget. I arrived in the area about 6 minutes after the second plane hit. It was the most surreal experience, looking up and seeing flames at the top of those buildings. I saw the first building come down...it sounded like a massive bomb had exploded. It was horrific...

Let's remember all those who died that day, including those on all four planes and at the Pentagon. Let's remember those brave people on the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. Without their heroic efforts, we may have had more casualties.

I commend the Colts for their efforts in honoring the first responders.

It seems to me if you want to bring positive attention to a cause you feel strongly about,   making a large portion of the country mad isn't the best way to do it.

I will play Devil's Advocate. A "large portion of the country" gets "mad" whenever someone or a group of people challenges the status quo. People got "mad" when people fought against slavery, when women fought for the right to vote, when sports were being integrated, etc. If folks had not challenged the status quo, many of the players you root for today would be playing in some segregated league.

There are more respectful and more effective ways to bring about change. But you will always get a segment of the population that gets "mad" whenever people are calling for change.

I agree Ben is a HOFamer but I don't see him as an MVP guy, JMO. Luck's stats are just as great as Wilson's are in his first 4 seasons as a whole because of Yardage and TD passes. Had Luck not missed 9 games he would have more TD passes and he still has more Passing yardage in 9 less games. Wilson has a great reputation because of his SB win. Had he not won that SB I seriously doubt anyone in the media would even consider him better than Luck. The Seahawks won that SB mainly because of their running game and Defense as well. Keep in mind he also had the worst blunder in SB history that cost his team another Ring. In my opinion Rodgers will have better Stats than Wilson or Ben when it comes to TD passes and Passing Yards.

The biggest blunder is one moment!  Is that supposed to tarnish or dismiss an otherwise stellar beginning of a career?

I am not referring to Wison's SB win/appearances or number of TDs. I actually don't put as much value on TDs as many do. I put greater emphasis on wins. (See Blake Bortles -- lots of TDs  in garbage time.) Look at Wilson's stats overall. Look at his completion % and his low number of INTs. I look at how a player can extend drives. He does that. Despite that infamous blunder, he does not make many mistakes. His overall QB rating for his first 4 years is better than anyone in recent history except maybe Ben -- it is either him or Ben, I believe. They are first and second.

Now, just because I say this does not mean I am saying he is better than Luck. You brought it up. I think we can appreciate other QBs without dismissing another one's accomplishments. :)

I don't see Cam having near the season he had last season. I understand he is getting Benjamin back but that was a career year he had last season. They wont go 15-1 again either. Ben has never won a MVP and I just don't see him even being in the Top 3 for that award. Wilson wont have the Stats IMO to win the award. I think part of the reason why I have Rodgers winning MVP is because I think the Packers will get the #1 Seed in the NFC.

You greatly underestimate Russell Wilson. Go check out his stats. He probably has the best first four years stat-wise of any player in the league. Look at his stats last year AFTER Lynch went out. I think his team will continue to loosen the shackles so that he can show what he can do.

You may be right about Cam... Ben Roethlisberger is one of my favorite QBs.  I think he is one of the most underrated QBs ever. He is a first ballot HoFer!  He is still going strong. I would not be surprised if he has a great year.

He is a troll.   Had I looked who posted it I wouldn't have even replied

This is almost as ridiculous  as that other thread where the poster said Jared Goff and Carson Wentz are the biggest busts of all time. It was posted a couple of weeks ago.

@ColtsBlue and NFLfan, NAHHHHHH my list is the best (sarcasm). It probably will be tough for JJ Watt to win DPOY again though considering he has won it 2 years in a row. I am not certain he will stay healthy all season either but I couldn't pick against him. If Luck has any kind of Good season he will run away with CPOY just based on reputation alone. Aaron Rodgers is going to feast on teams like the Bears and Lions in his Division as well.

haha  Let me preface this by saying that while I am a Vikings fan, I really don't "hate" the Packers, Bears or Lions. Actually, I would love to see the Lions win something. They never do. The teams I "hate" are the Cowboys and Pats, probably because I am around their fans all the time.

Anyway, I just don't get why so many people think Rodgers will win MVP. I would put Cam, Ben, and Russell before him.  I think I would put Luck before him too.
