Even if this is all true, it still seems odd to fire him right after the draft. If they wanted him gone this badly, they should've just fired him months ago.
(See what is in bold)
While it is not their GM that was fired, the Colts fired Jimmy Raye and members of the Scouting Department after the draft. I think the Jets did the same a couple of years ago.
I thought the Colts had a very good draft. I wonder why they let go of those who helped the GM choose the players.

I loved what the Chargers did. Mike Williams In the 1st to join Allen(if he stays healthy), Melvin Gordon, and the Gates/Henry TE duo gives Rivers a nice arsenal. Then you go and get Lamp and Feeney for the O-Line. Then you get Rayshawn Jenkins and King as moveable pieces for the secondary. A+
I agree.

I'm aware I wasted my time for probably 2-3 replies lol. I had nothing else to do today and was bored.
This is based on my personal player rankings, how I felt each team addressed their needs, and how I see each class helping down the line. This is not a ranking of flashiness, number of big names, or media reception. I do not expect many to agree.
Let's face it, we're all going to be laughably wrong anyway.

Honorable mentions:
.1Minnesota Vikings
Thanks for sharing your thought on the draft. Any comments on the Vikings (my team)? You listed them under "honorable mention". I am interested to here what you liked and disliked about the Vikings draft. Thanks.

Boy it is the offseason
It sure is.
I vote the Sam Bradford one as the worst.

I agree. I wonder if something happened in the last few days during the draft that hastened his firing -- maybe he and the new coach disagreed on a draft pick or something similar. I heard on the radio that before the announcement of the firing, the coach was talking about how great he thought their draft was.
Anyway, the situation up there has appeared dysfunctional for many years. I thought the GM would have been fired along with Rex. It makes no sense keeping him around only to fire him a few months later.

That's strange a day after the draft....maybe the owners wanted one of the Qbs
They drafted Nate Peterman. I thought they were going to draft Jim Kelly's nephew Chad Kelly who was the last pick of the draft. I wonder if there was some backlash for not taking Kelly. Having said that, there was speculation that Whaley would be fired after the draft.
Quote:
"The writing seems to have been on the wall for months. Doug Whaley has been fighting reports about his impending firing dating back to last offseason. With the continued reports about Sean McDermott’s growing voice in the front office, it wouldn’t shock me to see a front office overhaul in May. I almost titled the Whaley opinion piece in my draft guide “Why Doug Whaley will be fired after the draft.” Even if Whaley holds onto his job while the scouts beneath him are rearranged, I think his days are numbered at One Bills Drive."

I have like what Minn has done
You do? I am not crazy about what we have done today. This is a deep draft. Why are we trading 4th round picks for 7th round picks. We have 5 7th round picks.
Do you know Rodney Adams?
Our fans are not crazy about Ben Gedeon. I like him but it was a major reach. I am ok with the Jaleel Johnson pick.

Congrats guys. I love your draft. I had hoped the Vikes would draft Basham. Good player.
I don't know what the Vikings are doing today but I am not a GM.
Anyone know who Rodney Adams (WR, USF) is? I will read about him but I would like to hear from anyone familiar with him.
Thanks.

Realistically talent wise he is probably the best RB in the Draft but what he did was very bad.
You must let me know what your relative thinks about the Vikes' selecting Cook. He loved AP.

I think him going to Minnesota, FAR away from FL will be good for him. Vikes have a fantastic HC that I think will keep him on the right track.
Thanks. I hope so. I never expected him to drop this far. He is a playmaker. I did not want a RB in the 2nd but Cook is a steal at that spot.

What about L. Murray? Thought rd 3 would be back.
It is basically a one-year deal for Murray.

wonder what @NFLfan thinks about the pick
I like it. I wanted OL but the guys I wanted were gone (Lamp and Bolles)

Wow. I can't say I am disappointed. I wanted Lamp but I like Cook. Wow. Oh Wow.

I've waited two days to have my Forrest Lamp to Seattle mock come true. Seattle quit trading.
You might still get it right. Who did you mock to the Vikes?

Best:
Colts Hooker was a steal
49ers Foster and Thomas
Browns 3 solid additions to that team
Worst:
Bears Trading up 1 spot
(Why give Glennon 45m)
Chiefs Trading up 17 for Mahomes
Browns also got a 2018 first round pick. Browns and 49ers easily had the best Day 1.
Bucs and Jets got two of the best players. I love OJ Howard. Adams is a stud.
Without a doubt, Bears had the worst.
-
49ers are cleaning up so far. Solomon Thomas and Reuben Foster in the 1st.
Cleveland did very well too. Garrett and Njoku and a 2018 first round pick.
-
Worried about the Packers taking Forrest Lamp or Dalvin Cook. They need to upgrade their secondary but could they pass on Cook?

Interesting. Gedeon was one of two players that Vikings fans were not pleased with. We thought he was a reach. I like him but my fellow Vikings fans were disappointed. We would have preferred Desmond King or Jake Butt at that spot.
The Colts had a very strong draft. The first 3 are top players. I believe the Vikings were interested in drafting Basham. We met with him in January. I believe that if he had still been there at #86, we would not have traded back (down) and would have selected him.
Hope all the players work out for our respective teams.
