  1. Back in those days, we were never allowed to question The Ballard and there seems to be lingering grudges towards folks who questioned Ballard early on. I guess perpetuated by the fact that more people have climbed on board the bus Moose started. Moose's reasons for his opinions have always made sense to me, and he has stated them frequently. Just questioning the Nelson pick set people off for some reason. Your reason for the pick seems likely, however, there is also a belief that a GM should understand how Luck held the ball too long, in that simply adding overpriced olineman isn't really the way to fix the problem (when there were about 6 Gs available in the first round of that draft, and some thought Nelson might fall out of the top 10 given the needs of the teams). In fact, when Luck returned, he was given a new offense where he dinked and dunked the ball a lot...which goes unnoticed by many who want to attribute the oline's success solely based upon the new oline players. Then he started throwing long again as the season matured. It was Luck adjusting his style as much as the new players, IMO. And it was more than protecting Luck, many liked the pick because Nelson was going to be a perpetual pancaker in the NFL, which supported the idea he was worth the high investment. No, that never was gonna happen.
  2. Btw. OT. Higgins is having a nice game. Collinsworth said that Cincinnati will probably not be able to keep him because he’s a number 1 wr. Just info for you when you want to have that convo. Another time.
  3. When budgeting, anything spent on one things takes away the ability to spend it on something else. Wasting money on players sets a team back over time.
  4. Personally. As a critical person by nature with things I’m confronted with. I’m surprised at the level of criticism over the young players. They make mistakes. They give up plays. Freeland was getting roasted for giving up pressure and sacks to Myles Garrett. I don’t get it.
  5. It played like two teams with losing records and backup players were playing. Pretty incompetent football by both offenses. Each offense scored 13 points against defenses ranked about 29th and 32nd in certain stats. So it seems your assessment is supported
  6. Personally, I enjoy picking things apart. It’s fun and tells me a lot more than simply being happy for a win. If the picking lands on the negative then I hope the facts change one day so that the facts hold up to scrutiny. Different ways to approach happiness I guess Tolerance is good
  7. My reaction to the game goes deeper than being happy we won. Its about being happy or not over the reasons.
  8. I get it. I was just reacting to the achievement of equalling last years win total. It was sarcasm.
  9. Mayfield also had one of the fastest ball velocity tests at 6’0. 58mph I think. So he can get the ball where it needs to be when throwing on the move.
  10. They traded up right after stroud lit up the combine throwing iirc And when young weighed 210 at 5’10”. That’s all he did for predraft workouts iirc. Young might turn out okay. But the whole process was weird.
  11. I think teams were simply looking at whatever qb did the most mahomes things in college and ignored basic stuff And he didn’t have to test. It’s like nobody even bothered to ask if he had the basic physicality to play
  12. I think it was @csmoparwho said that this past draft's QB analysis by the pundits was just really bad. I think they fell in love with whichever QBs projected to look the most like Mahomes and simply ignored some basic stuff.
  13. So far, we've earned a participation trophy.
  14. Welp my predraft thoughts of : Stroud 1a Levis 1b Young; No AR: Incomplete is looking pretty solid at the moment.
  15. Wins are always nice, but this was a stinker by both teams on both sides of the ball. Our D looked okay, but Young was so bad its really hard to tell.
  16. Games like this. And anybody can be a 1k receiver. Do the math.
  17. A question asked by some for three years. Because he can’t improvise sideways? Just a guess
  18. Has that been confirmed. He’s not cut though. I think he left for personal reasons and the obvious speculation was alcohol.
  19. Bryce has given us 14 points. Moore didn’t even have to make great plays.
  20. If I won’t be called a bad colts fan. Is it okay if I watch Philly Dallas
