  1. I wouldn't trade up for anyone. I think there's a great chance that a great player falls to 29.

More than likely, a player ranked around 20 will fall to us. It's just what player will fall to us, will he fit our scheme, and will Grigson choose him. I'm hoping it's a D-Lineman or OT at this point. That would be perfect. I think the other player not at those positions that could fall to us is Landon Collins, then it gets interesting. If I had my way though, I'd trade down and pick up a 2nd and 3rd. If we had 4 day 2 picks, I trust Grigson to hit on 3 of them. Those seem to be his bread and butter where he does his due diligence and hits.

  2. sheesh if everyone hated my trades, im not too sure what they'll think of yours

I did say it was completely unrealistic.  haha Remember, this is a one in a billion scenario that's mostly a "would you do it" thing. I know this won't happen. I'd be happy with any of these 3 players. Also, I can't tell by your response if you just read the draft or saw that I said we are trading our next 2 years firsts.

  3. I thought with all the normal mocks going on that i would do something on the wild side. This is a mock where we completely fix our defense, but we trade away our 2016 and 2017 1st round picks. The idea is to get a defense together that can combine with our offense to win the Super Bowl and hopefully create a Colts dynasty.

Round 1 Pick 12 (CLE): Danny Shelton, DT, Washington (A)

    Round 1 Pick 18 (K.C.): Shane Ray, DE/OLB, Missouri (A)

Round 1 Pick 29: Landon Collins, SS, Alabama (A)

Round 4 Pick 6 (WASH): Donovan Smith, OT, Penn State (A)

Round 4 Pick 10 (T.B.): David Cobb, RB, Minnesota (A)

Round 4 Pick 29: Jamil Douglas, OG, Arizona State (B+)

Round 5 Pick 3 (JAX): Ramik Wilson, ILB, Georgia (B+)

Round 6 Pick 31: Austin Hill, WR, Arizona (A)

Round 7 Pick 38 (COMP): Cam Thomas, CB, Western Kentucky (A-)

This is the risky mock draft where we sacrifice our 1st rounders in 2016 and 2017 to get the 3 elite defensive players to put this team over the top. We also get a serviceable RB and some decent role players as well.

So would you do this if you got these players guaranteed knowing the price? This is something that has about as much chance of happening as me winning the lottery with one ticket, but it's something different that could be pulled off if Grigson had the guts to pull the trigger and it's something to think about at the least because we could trade up and get one of these players.

  4. This draft is a dream draft because of the trades I was able to pull off and still get all the positions of need filled, along with adding some talented players to the Colts. I am by no means saying this could happen, but in my opinion the Colts would easily have one of the better drafts if they could pull something similar to this off...

    (Trades - Indy trades 2015 3rd, 2016 2nd for San Fran's 2nd rounder / Indy trades 2nd round pick to NYJ for their two 3rd round picks / Indy trades 2015 6th, 2016 6th for Washington's 6th round pick)

Round 1 Pick 29: Landon Collins, SS, Alabama (A)

    Round 2 Pick 14 (S.F.): Carl Davis, DT/DE, Iowa (B)

Round 3 Pick 6 (NYJ): Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska (A)

Round 3 Pick 28 (DEN): Donovan Smith, OT, Penn State (A-)

Round 4 Pick 29: Senquez Golson, CB, Ole Miss (A-)

Round 5 Pick 29: Taiwan Jones, ILB, Michigan State (A-)

Round 6 Pick 6 (WASH): Ladarius Gunter, CB, Miami (Fla.) (C+)

Round 6 Pick 31: Deion Barnes, DE, Penn State (B-)

Round 7 Pick 27: Mario Alford, WR, West Virginia (B-)

Round 7 Pick 38 (COMP): Deontay Greenberry, WR, Houston (C-)

Our secondary looks great with Adams and Collins starting. Golson is a sleeper pick who could play nickel or FS and be an impact player. I just had to trade back up to get a great run stopper who has pass rush ability in Carl Davis to share time with Jones and Langford. Abdullah is one of my favorite backs in the draft, and he would be the perfect compliment to Gore, since Abdullah is the explosive runner of the two while Gore is the dependable physical back. Smith could potentially start at RT in 2016, taking the place of Cherilus. Colts also get good depth with picks of Jones, Gunter, Barnes, Alford, and Greenberry.

Don't know about you guys, but sign me up for a draft similar to this! Yes we give up a 2016 2nd rounder, but look at the players accumulated here.

Looks like you are doing this on First-Pick. How did you trade 2016 picks? You said you traded a 2016 2nd rounder and a 2016 6th rounder. I can only trade 1st rounders from 2016 and 2017, otherwise i have to trade picks for picks from this year.

  5. This makes sense, Brown is the one guy I really know nothing about. He was flying under the radar here and I wasn't sure if he was a riser or a faller. Looks like he is one of the better DTs in this draft. If he doesn't fit our scheme as reality hinted though, I'd rather go for an arik armstead that is a project but a 3-4 guy.

  6. We've talked about the D-Line a lot lately and who we want to draft and our opinion of all the D-Lineman. However someone lost in the shuffle is Malcom Brown. We've talked about every other one from Leonard Williams to Danny Shelton to Eddie Goldman to Carl davis and a couple more. I really haven't heard many opinions (if any) about malcom brown.

So my questions are, would you draft him, does he fit our scheme and basically where do you rank him among D-Lineman?

  7. Can't say I'm a fan. Micheal Bennett would fit as a DE, not a DT in our defense scheme. And he'd probably be there at 93. I also think there would be better backs available at 93 then Allen.

This* To be fair to the original mocker, I've been seeing bennett go earlier in drafts recently, but I would never get him because the the earliest I'd even consider taking him is our 2nd, and that's if everything was going badly to that point and he was the best of the worst. Like reality, i agree that he might be there at our 3rd in the real draft with the sheer number of defensive lineman going in the first 3 rounds. If we trade down for the redskins pick, i'd rather take Carl Davis or Arik Armstead (who is a project 3-4 DE but is a perfect fit to our scheme). Good effort, but you reached quite a bit in this mock.

  8. Denzel Perryman just pulled a hamstring on his 40 run. Not good!

Not good at all, could he fall to the 3rd? No way I could see him falling the 93, but maybe 70-80 range and we could trade up if interested.

I thought he was a late 2nd rounder anyway, he could fall to the late 3rd now, depending on the severity. If he's there at 93, we could definitely take him, assuming we didn't take Kendricks in the 1st already.

  9. It's Icy White, which the announcers could of made some cool puns like "Luck has Ice water in his Veins!" Also, it's hilariously white, which would of been funny watching the PC Police squirm. It's too far off tradition though, even though I would love it for home games.

    Alas though, it isn't real.

  10. 1. Buccaneers - QB Jameis Winston

    2. Titans - DE Leonard Williams

    3. Jaguars - OLB Dante Flower Jr.

    4. Raiders - WR Amari Cooper

    5. Redskins - OLB Shane Ray

    6. Jets - OLB Vic Beasley

    7. Bears - QB Marcus Mariota

    8. Falcons - OLB Randy Gregory

    9. Giants - DL Danny Shelton

    10. Rams - WR Kevin White

    11. Vikings - CB Trae Waynes

    12. Browns - DT Malcolm Brown

    13. Saints - DT Arik Armstead

    14. Dolphins - G Brandon Scherff

    15. 49ers - DT Eddie Goldman

    16. Texans - OL Andrus Peat

    17. Chargers - OT La'el Collins

    18. Chiefs - WR Devante Parker

    19. Browns - OL D.J. Humphries

    20. Eagles - OLB Bud Dupree

    21. Bengals - OT Jalen Collins

    22. Steelers - S Landon Collins

    23. Lions - HB Todd Gurley

    24. Cardinals - OLB Eli Harold

    25. Panthers - OT T.J. Clemmings

    26. Ravens - DT Michael Bennett

    27. Cowboys - HB Melvin Gordon

    28. Broncos - WR Breshad Perriman

    29. Colts - DT Jordan Phillips

    30. Packers - DT Carl Davis

    31. Saints - OT Erick Flowers

    32. Patriots - CB Kevin Johnson

Very nice, up to date mock. I would switch Amari Cooper and Kevin White though as I think White is a far superior player to Cooper. Also hate the Colts pick here in Jordan Phillips. Love addressing the D-Line, but I think he is the worst player with a first round grade that you could do it with. He is absolutely horrible IMO. Good job on the mock, appreciate the effort!

  11. Jake Fisher and Ronald Darby will probably be first round picks and I think they should both be 2nds. I think Cody Prewitt will be underdrafted. Trae Waynes is going a bit high. I think Jordan Phillips is being very overdrafted. Also, Danielle Hunter is as well. D.J. Humphries is a guy who has risen that I don't think is a first rounder. Dorial Green-Beckham and Jaelen Strong will fall nicely for a team, as will Devin Fuchness.

Lots of players that seem off as of now.

  12. I may be in the minority, but I love this safety class. Drummond will fall to our 3rd pick, though I think Anthony Harris will go late 2nd/early 3rd. I think Derron Smith fits well in our scheme, and I would love to take him in the 3rd if we could get him there. Adrian Amos in the 4th would be nice as well. Landon Collins isn't a great fit, but I think him at 29 is better then people are giving credit for here.

  13.

Goldman isn't the only Florida State player that the Colts are interested in, however.  According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the Colts will also have cornerback Ronald Darby in for a visit.

CB Ronald Darby stood on his 4.38 40, impressed in drills. Has workout/visit with

I have mixed feelings about this. Darby is a player I absolutely love, however he's a player that I think will be overdrafted. I don't want him at 29 and I'm guessing he could go before that. Our corners would be incredible, but I think there will be better players available at bigger positions of need. I'm curious how this will play out myself.

  14. This is the type of situation I would love to trade down and get a 4th and still grab Byron Jones. Not the biggest fan of taking him at 29 because of the gaping hole at D-Line. Also if TJ Clemmings is available, I'd rather have him. The best case scenario here IMO, is if a team takes him before our pick and it lets someone else drop to us, hopefully an OT or D-Lineman.

  15. Not bad, both are pretty good. Just some things to note though: I don't think Goldman will be there at 29. I think a team out of Detriot, Baltimore, or Denver will pick him up. I also don't think Gathers is a 5th round pick, rather a mid 4th. And also Trinca-Pasat is a 5th or 4th round pick won't be there in the 6th. Good work though, some nice picks just a couple of streches.

I'm thinking Denver will pick up an OT, which is what has me worried. I know they took Sylvester Williams in the first round in 2013, not 100% sure on how he has been. It'll be 50/50 between an OT and a D-Lineman IMO. I guess Trinca Pasat has risen some, I remember him being a 6th or 7th rounder. I'll have to check some updates. Geathers would a nice guy to draft though.
