  1. I wonder if this is why Richardson's stock has gone up. Maybe the scouts and GM's respected the fact that he was willing to put all of his measurements on tape while the other prospects have been guarded. It doesn't hurt when you put up good numbers on top of it though.
  2. That is kind of strange. He obviously believes it if he said both of those comments in combination. I get that he may not want to appear arrogant though.
  3. What else needs to be said? He feels like he has one of the strongest arms in recent draft history.
  4. Plus "I've got a cannon, and I want to show it off," the 23-year-old told the media Friday ahead of workouts. "I think I've got one of the stronger arms that's come out of any draft class in recent memory."
  5. Interestingly, several drafts have the Colts taking Richardson at #4 now. If that happens, maybe Levis would be likely to slide if the following teams are not in the QB market.
  6. I find it interesting and maybe a bit puzzling why some people are projecting Levis to fall in the draft now. Has that much really changed since the NFL combine? Levis is having his Pro Day today so that can't be it. Is he having poor interviews with NFL teams? These are all mock drafts within the last few days: NFL.com Insider Bucky Brooks has Levis sliding to #19 and being drafted by the Bucs. Daniel Jeremiah also has him going to the Bucs at #19. Charles Davis has him falling all the way to the Vikings at #23. Chad Reuter has the Vikings trading up to draft Levis at #10. Several other mock drafts have Levis going at #7 to the Raiders. If the Colts are interested in Levis, and several reports suggest they are, should they trade back from number 4 and collect more draft capital in hopes they can get him later in the draft?
  7. When I reviewed Young's tape, the one thing I didn't like is that I felt that he left the pocket too soon too often. This put him into those pressures (as you stated) earlier than it should have. Then he would scramble and throw a 30 yd laser to someone with pinpoint accuracy. This would leave me saying "I can't believe he just completed that throw. Can he do that all the time?" He does it a lot, but it makes me nervous when he takes off too early. My question is, can he continue to play like that on the NFL level? If so, he will be a star. Or, will his 5'10" slim frame take a lot of hits being outside of the pocket that much?
  8. Daniel Jeremiah's most recent mock draft has the Colts selecting Anthony Richardson at #4, Will Levis falling all the way to #19, and Hendon Hooker selected at #23. https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-2023-nfl-mock-draft-3-0-bucs-colts-panthers-texans-vikings-pick-
  9. It wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. Depending on what we could get for the #4 pick, I think I would prefer to trade the pick and load up on draft capital this year or next.
  10. I saw that too. If the Colts wanted to pickup a pass-catching TE then I would have preferred Gesicki but the Patriots snatched him up this morning. Dalton Shultz might be another option.
  11. The Buffalo Bills have released WR Isaiah McKenzie. He might be worth a look from the Colts to add WR depth after losing WR Parris Campbell earlier in the week. McKenzie finished 2022 with 478 all-purpose yards and 5 TD's. https://nfltraderumors.co/bills-release-wr-isaiah-mckenzie/
  12. Bengals LT Jonah Williams asks for a trade after the Bengals signed FA LT Orlando Brown to a big contract. Maybe this is an opportunity to secure the left side of our line depending on how the Colts feel about Raimann coming into year two. Williams made 16 starts for the Bengals last year. https://nfltraderumors.co/bengals-lt-jonah-williams-requests-trade-following-orlando-brown-signing/
  13. You are right. Right now our kicker makes more per year than Jonathan Taylor (Likely to change soon). Ballard won't spend big on premier positions and then he does this. I realize it is early but his methods are puzzling to say the least. I am just waiting for the Ballard lovers to convince me that this is part of his fiscally shrewd plan to outsmart and outmaneuver the other 31 GM's. He has a covert plan which when executed will make all those aggressive, big-spending teams look like fools. Let me ask, how is that working out for the Colts after six years?
  14. Just as a reference. Chase McLaughlin made $965,000 last year. Making $5.625/yr as a kicker is a great contract.
  15. Don't get me wrong here. I like Matt Gay and I am glad we locked up our kicker for the offseason, but every year we absolutely refuse to spend big money early in free agency. The one year we decide to break from that and we use the money to sign the largest contract for a kicker in free agency history? Thankfully we have no other pressing priorities on this team.
  16. I rescind all my previous posts claiming Ballard is not a big FA spender because of this breaking news: The Colts just signed a 4-year, $22.5 million deal with Kicker Matt Gay. Whew! I was afraid we weren't going to get our kicker for $5.625 million a year this offseason. This is a huge relief. Everybody can relax now.
  17. Rodgers isn't staying with the Packers. He is coming to play in the AFC like every other QB it seems. Colts shouldn't have much competition to worry about.
  18. Yes that is how aggressive teams who want to fix their problems operate. Somebody could learn a lesson or two.
  19. Still exercising deferred gratification I see............................................................
  20. The bigger question is why are they shopping all of their receivers?
  21. Ballard free agency shopping doesn't start for another 2-3 weeks.
  22. I understand the different tags but I didn't know there was different negotiating periods than the rest of the free agents. The article I was just reading said that tagged players cannot be traded once they have signed an offer sheet though.
  23. It looks like I have learned another new thing today because I have never heard that before. Why would their legal tampering period be different than other free agents?
  24. But the legal tampering period began today. That is why all these teams are agreeing to deals that will be signed on Wednesday. Tagged players cannot negotiate until Wednesday?
  25. Franchise tags contracts are not included in the legal tampering free agent period?
