  1. I think this has more to do with the Colts offensive limitation.  I was telling a friend that Manning, even at the same stage of his career, would shred those kind of blitzs.  But he would just audible to a quick slant to the TE or dump on a quick curl.  I don't know if it is that Luck isn't given the ability to audible  t to a play like that, the guys can't execute, or what, but I noticed last year  that the way to really shut down this offense is to blitz up the middle.  They seem to have no answer for it.  And it is not because the center is subpar.   Like was just mentioned 7 guys attacking 5 is going to lead to some guys getting through.  Hamilton/Luck just need to adjust better.

  2. So let me understand this.  We lost to probably the best two teams we will play during the regular season.  The game tonight we had won and would have been up by at least 10 if not 14 when the unfortunate interception happened.  It would have been a very good win.

But now Grigson, Pagano, and the entire coaching staff should go? We are fighting for a top pick in the draft?  Luck is overrated?  We have no talent on our team ( even though we almost tied the perceived best team in the AFC).

Are some of you actually Colts fans?  Football fans?  You do know the Colts are the team with the horseshoes, right?  They aren't the Silver and Black team?  Get real!

The Colts will now knock off a bunch of wins and you can go back to breathing again.

How did the Colts losing these two games surprise anyone???  Those are two very good teams.  You can't turn the ball over twice and win.

  3. "The higher in the draft we climb"

You're seriously giving up after two losses to two great teams?

It is amazing.  Everyone knew these were likely two loses after Mathis went out.  But the rest of the year, we will own.  But people are packing it in?  Get real.

  4. This game is 100% on the coaching staff and GM. Hamilton is stuck in college with his crappy playcalling Manusky should have been fired 3 yrs ago. Grigson should get the boot for trying to fill spots with practice squad rubs like Toller and Laundray

Really?  So the coaching staff threw the interception and fumbled the ball?   They caused the two turnovers?  Luck doesn't throw the pick and we are up by at least 10, if not 14, and likely game over.

  5. Some of you are something else.  So we applaud the running attack, but when the running attack doesn't work on the last possession, then we are out coached.

Its simple, really.  Two turnovers cost us the game.  Not sure how that is out coached.  But there will always been some football challenged "fans" who think if you don't do everything perfect, its the end of the world.

Take a breath.  Those were probably the two best teams we play during regular season.  We knew there was a real possibility we start 0-2.  Now we will run off 5-9 in a row and everyone will be happy again.

  6. That is crap.  That is being PC.  Polian would never have picked RGIII over Luck.  I have never heard Polian say that.   I heard him say they were both good prospects and it would depend on who you wanted for your system.  I think he was being kind.

  7. I think the Colts have as good as chance to get to the Super Bowl as any other team.  Because we have seen over the last few years it doesn't take a great team in the AFC to make it to the Super Bowl.  But there will be ups and downs.  Best to plan for that.

  8. Splitting hairs a bit I think ;)

I am suggesting that fans might be happier if their expectations weren't for the Colts to play a perfect game, because it has never been done.   If one of our guys gets knocked over by a pass rusher, credit the other guy. It happens.  If we can't cover Julius Thomas, credit the Broncos for scheming that way.  I would guess most linebackers can't cover Thomas consistently.  Those things are going to happen.  The best you can do is limit them and seize opportunities yourself.   I would also suggest that  it seems Luck gets off easier than others on criticism.

  9. I've read this board for a long time and I've never seen anyone predict or expect any of those stats.

So your thread about unrealistic expectations is not very realistic and you are basically telling people to not expect stats that you made up.

"By some posts you would think the expectations are".  That is implied.

  10. It seems some fans just have urealistic expectations of how the Colts should perform each week. By some posts you would think the expectations are:

    - Luck throws 8 TDs, no INTs

    - Richardson runs for 200 yards on 5 carriers

    - O-Line gives up no sacks

    - D-Line gets 15 sacks

    - No player on the other team ever catches a ball

    - The opposing QB is reduced to Ryan Leaf status.

Its not going to happen!  Lets be realistic.  For example, I see criticism of the offensive line's pass blocking against Denver.  So Luck dropped back over 50 times, facing Vonn Miller and DeMarcus Ware and you are faulting the pressure he got?  But on the flipside, Bjorn Werner goes up against a top LT in Ryan Clady and is ripped because he doesn't get more pressure. Or the Fleener bashing when a ball was throw very high and he didn't catch it.  Curious, did anyone on the Broncos ever drop a pass??  YES!!  Did Manning ever miss a pass?  YES!  Julius Thomas is a nightmere for ANY team to stop.  So not sure why you are so outraged that we didn't hold him to no catches. Manning IS going to complete passes to playmakers and they are going to make plays.

I just think it would be beneficial to tone down some expectations.  We aren't going to win ever battle at every position.  And if we lose some, the guy doesn't have to be replaced immediated because he is a bum.  Be realistic!  Teams are fairly evenly matched in the NFL.  That is why on any given Sunday anything can happen.

  11. Not sure why this is so outrageous?  A key to us winning the game last year was Mathis' pressure.  Without that, Manning will likely pick our secondary apart.  And we are likely going to have a beat up OLine.  I love the Colts, but I doubt they win this one.  It is not being negative.  It is being realistic.

  12. Some of this posts are so off base.  Grigson doesn't do his job huh?  So Grigson is the guy getting these guys injured?  Come on, think a bit more please.  Boone is just another overrated SF lineman like Snyder was.  Cardinals signed him to a big contract and he did nothing.

  13. You know, it's a weird thing.  Brees is a good QB. And good QBs complete passes.  So not sure why Jackson is being roasted for being unable to cover Graham or on the TD.  It happens!!!  This is the NFL that now passes much more and top passing teams are not going to be stopped.  You just have to outscore them.

It just seems like some fans on here expect us to give up no points, no sacks, no negative yards, never turn over the ball, and the other team to make all the mistakes.  Not going to happen.

  14. Great. Hopefully we get back to winning 12 games a year and then getting bounced from playoffs because we can't run or have defense.  That was sarcasm in case you didn't read it.

The final four last year shows you what needs to be done to win the Super Bowl.  Defense, some running attack, and effective passing. Give me that.  I will take 2 ugly Lombardis over 10 years of high octane failures.

  15. I think saying someone is a #1 receiver in the current NFL doesn't mean what it used to be.  With multiple receiver sets, it is more like you have two #1s.  I think where Da'Rick is going to cause some damage is that with the new emphasize on contact, he is a big, fast guy to try to cover.   I think he looks great.
