  1. I think ppl are gonna have to get use to how some of these QB's are, there was vince young, Teebow, Cam newton, now Pryor. While none of these guys have done much *excluding VY's probowl* they have some really good upsides and you cannot ignore his 2010 season with 27TD's and 11ints... i think he could benefit from a guy like peytons tutelage.

Well, I won't sit here and tell you that none of these types of guys will ever make it, but I do feel pretty comfortable in telling you I think it's going to be pretty rare.

Wasn't there a thread a few months back discussing how 'accuracy couldn't be taught'?

  2. You know what? One day, they're going to be right. It's inevitable. The Texans will win the division eventually. Until then, they'll keep making this preseason pick so that they can "be ahead of the story."

Yep, one day they'll be sayin' 'See, I told you so. Been sayin' it for years now, and you didn't believe me'. :)

  3. I wouldn't spend a Supplemental Draft pick on him, but if he went un-drafted..... can he return kicks?

I don't like the apparent character issues.

I don't like the idea of the media circus that would follow him around.

    I don't like him as a QB.

But, he seems to be athletic. Perhaps, there's another position for him? KR, PR, WR, DB?

    But, still.....

  4. just slight adjustments, on some third downs our corners should be a tad bit closer to the recievers instead of giving them 5-10 yards off the line, and secondly just a few more blitzes and run stunts. Nothing to major

It's very possible the tighter coverage issue is already being addressed.

If I'm not mistaken, we seem to be drafting DBs more adept at man coverage the last year or so.

At least that's my recollection without doing a lot of research.

  5. natelombardi - expand on why you think the Colts should consider a new defensive scheme. When you just post up a question for the sake of posting a question, it doesn't get a lot of responses and won't end in a good discussion. You could try something like "We have been using the same scheme for many years and our defense doesn't usually rank very high. Maybe we should consider changing from Tampa 2 to ______. The new defensive scheme would be better because _________." Providing some stats also wouldn't hurt.

Yep, and adding who on the present roster fits the new scheme, and what positions need to be turned over, so we would have interest in Pat Williams.

  6. I've got two questions:

    1. Does anyone else notice how the OP always starts inane threads but never posts again in it?

    2. What's the definition of 'Troll'?

No, I did see the OP add a response to their DT thread. But, that's just once to throw us off.

    What's the definition of insanity?

  7. i like our d line but honestly we still are weak we need a pat williams type dt for 1st and second downs trust me and as far as cb we are in trouble

Pat Williams TYPE, but not Pat Williams. Therefore, next years draft(?).

CBs: Why? Are the new guys stinking it up in camp?

  8. You should do one of two things.

Get together all of your richest friends, and...

1 - Offer to buy the Colts from Mr. Irsay.

2 - See if you can own the L.A. franchise a few years from now.

Then you can do what you'd like with other people's money.

Just don't forget about the cap.

  9. Well thanks for letting me know my input is welcome! Geez, I wouldn't have ever thought that without your reply, which btw, offered none of your own? :rolleyes2: :coltslogo:

You are so overly welcome, you wouldn't believe it.

I wasn't trying to talk down to you. It just seemed that people started correcting the OPs list, when it was just his favorites, not his list of the best ever. But, hey, I'm not the thought police, so point taken.

My input? I don't have time right now (maybe later) to cover every position, but will list a few favorites off the top of my head.

    QB: Unitas

RB: Matte, or Lydell Mitchell, can't make up my mind. RB is my favorite position, and I can list quite a few of my favorites.

    WR: Harrison

    TE: Mackey

    OT: Parker

    DE: Bubba & Dwight

    DT: Goose & Marchetti

    LB: Curtis, Herrod, Bickett

    K: Vinnie

  10. Where is Curtis, Smith, Berry, Gino..............? That's only Baltimore days.

How's about Donaldson(sp?), Stark and Bickett???? From the 80's.

He said "your colts", and those were his.

Based on the list he must be a relatively new fan.

I'm guessing if your fandom goes back further, your input is still welcome.

  11. Happens to most teams. Its the past, so it doesn't matter. Colts look strong on both sides of the ball

(-1 or 2 DBs for depth) Time to get excited about the present.

If the D-line improves to the talent level we're hoping (Moala, Nevis, Harris), perhaps the DBs will be much better by osmosis?

  12. We have some Baltimore Colts fans here so they'll correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Colts have to be in Indy for another 15 years or so in order to be here longer than they were in Baltimore.

Well, the Colts have been in Indy since '84, so that's what, 27 years?

Having not looked it up, my recollection is that the Colts were in Baltimore beginning in about 1953. So, that would make it 31 years.

If I'm right, it's close, but not yet.
