"Whisper In The Night" does indeed sound like a B side track on the Beatles album "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club's Band. Very perceptive observation there by the commentators in this documentary. I can see why both George Harrison & John Lennon gave ELO their blessing.

It is fascinating to listen to a debut album as a new band tries to hone it's signature sound as Roy & Jeff fought over creative control determining the direction of ELO & what they would ultimately become symphonic pop rock with complicated orchestra arrangements.

It's funny because most band members leave a group over female altercations among the band or drug use gone out of control--Not necessarily lay down the ground work & leave in Roy Wood's case.

I know I slammed ELO's cover of 'Great Balls Of Fire' earlier in this thread because only Jerry Lee Lewis can do that song justice. I will say this though. Jeff with his creation of "Evil Woman" that only he can do justice too himself. I love that song. It just gets better & better decade by decade. The hook is so timeless & effective in that track.

I don't care what a person is doing when that song comes on the radio we all start singing evil woman & doing the keyboard riff before the track is over.
