I think if gays contract was not what it was it could be easily assessed that perhaps they would be more likely to entertain taking a chance on the new guy. I’m concerned about gay myself perhaps costing us 1-2 games this year…but I certainly have nowhere near enough evidence that the new guy is worth the gamble you know. I still don’t much care for the “new holder” excuse though…I get it, but do we not have any plan B contingency in place if our primary placekicker holder goes down ??

It offers zero help to me…if you miss the end zone by inches you also get the same result…0 points…so yea, make the kicks already. The days of Mr automatic Vinny I get are gone but dudes gonna cost us games.

I agree with the middle of the pack record sentiment as well…I think 9-8 or 8-9 in my mind. Either way if AR improves and is here the whole year on the field that’s a good season from what we’ve had seeing as how this is the first time since 2016 we will have the same opening day QB to start the game…that really is a mind boggling stat….8 years…all those years of uncertainty. I think that most of us will enjoy it. But what happens if AR still looks shaky in the opening game and beyond…no more excuses of (well it’s preseason it’s a vanilla offense, well it’s preseason and it’s not the real playbook, well it’s preseason and Richardson didn’t make run plays)…some fans will have to point the finger at something else…it is unfortunate that commonly human nature tends to focus on the frailties and failures rather than the strengths and successes…I suspect this is also why our country seems to be so divided but that’s a whole different topic not to be discussed here. Colts fans and other fans alike are always divided on opinions but at least we all want the same thing and that’s success for the team. But I’m with you, let us just sit back and enjoy together. Anything, anytime, things can change but being a fan shouldn’t be one of those things…live by the sword die by the sword…in Colts we trust right ?

That’s horrible! In this league a QB has to complete 90%+ in order the beat the refs.

Hoping this offense can put it all together sooner than later but I think we have a good shot at doing some good things this year.

All I can really say is that it’s so great to be back on the forum regularly now that football season is back around….that much I know. things I think I know: Win or lose the season should be fun and entertaining. AR is by quite a bit the least experienced starting QB on the field when it comes to real playing time (college included). He is going to take time to progress but the forecast looks promising. Im still concerned about the backfield…not any of the backs not named JT haven’t proven they can be viable for the season behind JT…I hope they excel because our running game is necessary. I am still not convinced that our secondary is going to perform any better than the bottom of the middle…it really is reliant upon the front 4 to wreak havoc before a play can develop..and fortunately the forecast for those front 4 looks to be pretty good. I am convinced that Gay will cost us at least 1 game this season or maybe 2. That worries me. Our special teams coverage has not been stellar in the 3 games we’ve had so far but part of that I am sure can be attributed to the new kickoff (which I actually think I am liking) I am excited about the receiving corps for the first time in many years…if Pierce can catch on and we get decent play from our rookie Mitchell and just 1 of our tight ends ball out we are going to score some serious points. I think that our chances of making the playoffs this year are about 55-60% which is not bad…but the Texans may very well be the team to beat. Can we finally get over the jaguars hump in Jacksonville ? It’s football season people…time to be excited! Don’t be like Brady’s balls and get deflated too early in the season.

I think AR is the most rookie QB to really ever play as a starter in the league…even as of today as he played almost no college compared to most QB’s…
