yea no one else wants McDaniels so what else is there for him… the OC/playcalling position has been a mess since he left this last go round in New England. Not that he will really help it much..he just isn’t that great of a coach.

The Jaguars have fired their defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell and his staff. I know they had a big collapse after going 8-3 but it’s not as much their defense as it was their offense in that last downhill slope of the season. It is official. Rivera was fired today.

I think he will only get the job if Davis can’t find a huge splashy name to take the job. Someone like BB (if he becomes available) or even Harbaugh.

Yes it will be interesting for sure. I think the one I’m most curious about is probably the titans followed by the patriots. If they move on from Vrabel and BB respectively it will be interesting on where those two coaches land (assuming they stay in the league).

Oh yea?? Well I had us going exactly 9-8 and losing to the Texans at home on a last minute failed 4th and 1 to our backup backup backup running back. I nailed it!! Successful season. in all seriousness…I was far more entertained this season than I was last season by a wide margin…so I feel it was a success and plenty of room to grow with a new HC and that’s good for me for the time being.

Yea it is a bummer to see jags losing by double scores right now after the loss last night…we almost coulda shoulda woulda won the south title. Sad for us 😢

Well, regardless of everyone’s differing opinions I think we can all find principled compromise together in the fact that we are all Colts or football fans here and to have such a passion for your team and to be emotionally invested game after game win or lose and to be lucky enough to celebrate or commiserate on here together is pretty fortunate. Glad to engage with you all, and while I may personally not always agree with everyone’s opinion I do respect it.

Yea we really needed the yards..I was just shocked by it because JT almost ALWAYS fights for the yards, it just seemed really uncharacteristic for him to do it twice right about together.

I don’t really agree with that assessment. We had all 3 timeouts. If you watch (especially the 2nd time) that he ran out of bounds on the far side of the play had he turned inside instead of jetting outside at the last minute he would have had the first down…that was the most critical part..getting the first down. We had timeouts, we needed first down above all else.

Yup, everyone fails period! No single player is exempt. But if I’m playing blackjack I’m not the one splitting a pair of 10’s when the dealer is showing a 9+ card. Going to go with the surest method to win. agree wholly on the last part…many poorly executed plays all game long, not just the last offensive play we had. No one wants it to come down to one play with death in the line…ideally we woulda killed them early on

If your nailing it to one particular play as to why we lost the game then sure the 4th and 1 at the end was it. Because technically that was the end of the plays we had offensively to win the game. But as others have pointed out there are multiple reasons why we lost…for me first and foremost was just the 3rd down conversions…can’t win a game without converting more than that. We needed at least 35% and it’s likely this game has a different outcome in our favor.

Well, I suppose in my head that if I have to get a certain surgery I’d want the absolute best qualified proven doctor performing it. I realize this isn’t life or death but what I’m saying is in this moment when everything is on the line I want the absolute best player available to succeed. I’d call a play using my top players and put it in their hands because they’ve proven to be capable and reliable in realtime situations not just practice situations. I think they could have just as easily schemed a play up for one of the top three playmakers as they did for Goodson. But again, just my opinion.

Absolutely a fair assessment. But because it did fail we analyze the WHY. Like any successful entrepreneur he looks at his failures the most so that he can succeed next time.

Regardless of who the coach is…your best player had 180+ yards on 30 or so carry’s at around 6 ypc…it should be up to the best player on the field at that time to get the yard. likewise, I’d say if Pittman or granson had gone off on this defense then that is likely the place you should go with it. Chiefs are good at that going to Kelce over and over again when it matters most because he is the best player on the field (not in the QB position)

It definitely was not a good enough throw by Minshew no question about it. It was under thrown in my opinion. Yes a good play call but just sad the best player on the team was on the sideline for such a play.

I too do not want Texans to win. I want them one and done and not as division champs.
